So, after 2 cancelled PTBs
- Now killers can see the states of hooks, without needing to remember anything . Obviously nothing seriously negative, but perhaps a distracted killer could have gotten confused and tunneled the wrong person.
- "Off the record" nerfed
- Medkit addons nerfed
- Revision (decrease) of pallets in some maps
I hope they don't do any more PTB tests, I'm scared of what might happen... another nerf to fog vials?🤣 At this point, and I say this without irony, wouldn't it have been better to leave everything as it was before? Some powerful strategies for survivors (syringes, off the records), other powerful strategies for killers (slugging, tunneling).

Funny how this goes both ways~
- Now survivors can see the states of anticamp, without needing to let the gen go. Obviously nothing seriously negative, but perhaps a distracted survivor could have gotten confused and ran to the hook.
- "Franklins Demise" nerfed because they couldn´t figure out how it should work with infinite fog vial
- Myers addons nerfed
- increase of pallets in some maps

(You realize that reverting means exactly this right?)
Aren´t people already bored of these obvious us vs them posts?

No, no, no, there is a HUGE difference between giving a killer additional information and bridging the gap between solo q and SWFs.
If you gave that HUD info to Trapper and Skull Merchant ONLY, then it might be a fair comparison, but they gave that to Blight and Nurse, too. When facing a coordinated team, your killer matches aren't going to be affected in any way. They already had that info. But you can't say the same thing about a Ghoul or Krasue who thinks, "I'm losing, better tunnel someone. Let me check the HUD…"

I feel this might be a bit of a stretch.
For starters, it's far more likely that a distracted killer would accidentally tunnel someone while trying not to without visible hook counts. There's been quite a few comments over the years about how visible hook counts don't actually mean anything regarding tunnelling but they would be (and now are) a nice quality of life thing for people trying to spread out their hook actions.
If you want to tunnel, you know which survivor you're attacking, it's the one who was just unhooked. If you're not actively trying to tunnel you might forget which of the two Ace players with different cosmetics was the one you hooked last, to give one example. As for the others, the medkit addons were their own issue independent of the whole anti-tunnel thing (same way that the Myers rework went through for the previous PTB despite the rest of it being delayed), so that's not super relevant, and OTR was only nerfed in its capacity as an aggressive bodyblocking tool, not an anti-tunnel tool.
Trying to swing revising the pallet density update as a bad thing is very silly, too, pretty much everyone agrees that went too far in the wrong areas. It's also not a revert, it's an adjustment, maps should still have better pallet density than before based on how BHVR spoke about it.
Then again, that was the goal before and it was the implementation that messed up, so we'll see how it shakes out.11 -
I find the hook states for killer pretty helpful when going for my 8 hooks minimum challenges.

- Please, argue all you want, but saying that the old Off the Record is a "super strong" perk is simply not true. A survivor who does NOTHING for 80 seconds is a blessing for the killer, not a problem. Realistically, who the hell used Off the Record without doing anything to advance the game? "It could have been used offensively!!!" . Better yet, 2 people (one being chased and the other trying to use Off the Record) who don't work on the generators. Am I the only one who catches survivors working on the generator immediately after being unhooked without even healing???

To be honest I never understood the worrys about the visible hook states.
Do people really think that a tunneling Killer which goes all game long for the Dwight sees him getting unhooked, already hit and while they stay in front of him and the saver be like…
"Urgh damn… who did I chase all the time? The one which got unhooked and is hurt or the completly other survivor i didnt chase all game" "Better I take a look at my cheat tally marks." "AH RIGHT the one i chased to death hook is the one ich need to chase to tunnel him out"
Do you really thing this?

This went from a patch to help Survivors to an immediate flip to helping Killers

To a degree, its just silly that at the same time there are so many complaints about devs handholding survivors this is happening with a 'well, naturally that's a good change'. It's a minor thing, but the timing with all of the other arguments for why things shouldn't happen makes it a bit weird.
So I think I'm going to be stepping on an argument @AmpersandUnderscore makes about how nerfing the self heal from boon: circle of healing led to survivors just doing gens more because they no longer had a reason to keep running across the map.
What's ironic, is that the nerf to OTR is the type of handholding/railroading that the devs stated as a reason for not going through with 9.2 PTB. With old OTR the survivors had a chance of making a mistake (though killers who wanted it nerfed only ever focused on when they didn't). If a survivor was unhooked but the killer wasn't around the survivor had to make a decision about what to do: get on a gen, keep the protection, go for the bodyblock. Now though survivors are just railroaded: if tunneled, run, if not, get on a gen and don't worry about the protection.

This. It's extra insulting to see 2 patches worth of anti-tunnel/anti-slug mechanic changes being dropped while keeping the anti-tunnel/anti-slug perk nerfs that was originally paired with those changes. Next patch killers are getting all those spooky pallets taken away.
As much as they complain about t-bagging in exit gates they're sure doing the same thing when it comes to the last 2 patches. The fact that some killer biased posters and content creators act like they're some sort of poor beleaguered underdog is ridiculous at this point.

As a previous comment said the exact problem is two ptbs where supposed to be surviour updates but now the update is leaning more on the killer side.
It's a slap in the face to surviour players. If the reversed happened, two PTBS in a row it was promised changes to toolboxes where coming, only to then buff the toolboxes and scrap the other changes that would nerf them it would be complained about all the time but when surviours do it they are bad
That is what has been done with tunneling a update that was supposed to mitigate it is now looking like it will help it (seeing the hook counters on screen, allowing turn brain off gameplay go for whoever has more tick)

So… what can Killers do now that they couldn´´t before the change?
It gets reverted so the game is basically the same. The only things which stayed are the once we begged BHVR for a long time,
Seeing the Anti Face Camp Bar and more pallets on Maps like Haddon Field.
