The match lock after abandoning feels unfair.
I'm a beginner who's been playing Dead by Daylight for about seven months, with only around 100 killer matches under my belt.
When playing as the Killer, most matches pit you against high-level Survivors, making it difficult to even get a down and leading to the generator being powered up in no time.
I'm putting in the effort, but the current environment overwhelmingly favors the Survivor faction, leaving new Killer players unable to gain any enjoyment, sense of accomplishment, or satisfaction.
The sound of power coming on is enough to kill my motivation, and I can't stand watching survivors pointlessly wait and taunt each other inside the gate after it opens, so I've started clicking abandon.
Returning to the lobby and clicking Next will result in a 15-minute matchmaking lock penalty.
I feel the matchmaking system is far too simplistic. At the very least, I wish they'd add a command where you can select a reason for abandoning or leaving a match.Whether you're abandoning because you're just pissed off, because there are cheaters, or because the match is hopeless and you have no choice but to quit—those reasons carry completely different weight.

You DC'd you did not abandon. You can only abandon when you have the option to do so without penalty. Them being on the door in the end game is not one of those without penalty options.
