No sound when killers use their powers
SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: Some matches have no sound ques for when a killer is going to use their power.
Also, whenever I load into a match with this bug, the sound is very quiet overall on the game.
PLATFORM: PS5
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED: I load into a match and the sound is very quiet; this includes footsteps, skill checks etc. I hear a quiet terror radius and the killer attacks me but I cannot hear their attack noise or when they go to use their power - for instance, the noise krasue makes when changing into head form and the laugh wesker makes before dashing. As soon as the match is over my volume on my console goes back to normal.

Yep, sounds can be messy. I somehow made it to powered exit gates before being killed by a Spirit without being able to hear her

The same happens to me in almost every match. I don't hear the usual sound on lots of killers' hits, I don't hear Wesker prepare his power, I don't hear Nemesis' whip land, I don't hear Artist's crows when they hit. It's been only since the new update yesterday. Here is an example with Ghostface, excuse the terrible looping I was bamboozled at the sound issue.

Here's another example from just now. It seems to be in particular Nurse, Wesker and Plague so far today. It's baffling because my duo is fine with plague, but I'm not, whereas Houndmaster was fine for me but bad for her.

We have found a resolution - for some reason, when we load into a quiet match (we can tell the match is quiet on loading into one, it's pretty obvious) and then press 'match details', the volume fixes itself. This is on Playstation. Perhaps this is a bug relating to the change made in the update that moved the button to see the match details from the start button to the touch pad?

Same issue is with Sadako, can't hear her lullaby, manifesting, demanifesting and teleport.

I just encountered this in game on PC (Steam version); Demogorgon who made ZERO sound the entire match. No footsteps, no lunge, no tells, no portal sounds—when the Survivors tore his portals up, those made no sound, and the entire rest of the game sounds I did have were very, very quiet.
Turned the Demo into a hyper-stealth Killer.3 -
I had this glitch today with huntress, every time she would pull up hatches they would make no sound cue like they normally do (steam/PC player)

I can confirm that it is also happening on Switch. Got the sound problems playing as both killer and survivor. In most matches I have played, the sound is okay, but in a few, the killer power is just not heard at all.

Players experiencing the issue: does opening the Match Details Screen (Tab, Touchpad, etc) resolve the issue when this occurs in your Trials?

it’s happening on pc as well. Should treat it as a all platforms bug.
And yes on pc if i press tab the sound is resolved, but it can break again mid match it doesn’t always start broken.

ok so it’s just not me. Had a Nemesis match where his footsteps and tentacle would make no sound. Not on drawing said tentacle or whipping it.

Had this issue tonight when playing as well.
For me it only happened against killers who somehow "phase" with their powers. In my case it was Knight and Spirit involved when this bug happened.
You basically hear nothing/almost nothing apart from your own steps. Phasing sound for Spirit was completely nonexistent.

+1 on this topic. We had the same issues with Krasue, Ghoul, Hillbilly and Michael (that one was the biggest offender because he was playing scratched mirror and you could not even hear him breathe lol) and also on PC. A game restart fixed it for maybe 1-2 matches but then the bug returned.
Edit: forgot to mention, the game also sounded weirdly muffled and quiet in those matches, as if I turned my volume down by 50%

once I click match details suddenly I can hear the killer power normally and the game volume is back to normal. This all started for me since the 9.3.0 update we got on tuesday

Here is a log where Billy had no chainsaw sounds. He was using the addon that did make them unhearable if not inside his terror radius and running his perks so he could go untectable with Tinker. So I would say most of the time it was totally working correctly but after I died and was watching the match in the spectator mode I could not hear his chainsaw at all even if he was not in undetectable. Hard to tell during the match itself because of the addon but it might have happened few times even during the match. Last match in the log.
