Rant: Why should I do gens? Game was over from the start!

Hello everyone,

this weekend was horrible for me as a Solo/Duoque player and I have s simple question for my fellow Soloque mates. Why do you queue up when you won´t do a thing.

This is a rant about the mentallity of some Soloque players and why the game often feels impossible to win.

On Saturday i started DbD after a long time to see "How the maps got butcherd and holy ######### some loops are really horrible". My first game was against a bubba, which got his first down 20 seconds in the game on our Vittorio. Well no problem, one gen was half way done. I went for the unhook, healed Vittorio up and went straight back to our gen. Than the s***show started and my mate called out "Vittorio went into a locker."

Short story… Me and my mate and the other random finished all except one gen with 3 people, while Vittorio was hiding all match. He got like 6k BPs after the game.

Beeing me I asked him "Dude why didn´t you do anything? We could have won that round" and he answerd the following; "Well this game was over when it started. I looped the Killer for years and you guys didn´t finished the gens, so why should I do something to help you losers escape?" I was completly buffled. What is wrong with people in Soloque? Are they just this desillusional?

The weird thing is, I think we could have won this game when Vittorio just had dced. If the bot gets chased one time we finish the gen, If he doesn´t get chased the bot would try to do a gen.

To be honest what do people do in all the time where they try to just hide or standing in a locker?

It kinda remembers me of the No0b3 Claudette "What did you do?" "Gens u?"

I understand the feeling but I never understood the solution these players are trying to archive.

From time to time I gave my opinion to these topics and the self fullfilling prophecy.

Best example: Round starts, someone gets downed, picked up and hook. DC or went next (when this was still possible) Why did he do that? Answer: "Well this Killer would have tunneld me anyway" Like dude common the Killer had no time even to leave your hook and you are saying well I would have been tunneld? You don´t know that.

People dcing against some Killers is another point and sadly the reason why Survivors can´t see the Killer in the Lobby. I once said on this forum, that the lobby dodging would be enormous when Survivors could see the Killer. Often I got the answer "No this wouldn´t be the case" and I really want to belive that. But since going next against "X" is completly tollerated by some people the lobbys would take forever.

And the strangest reason which I will never understand is the blaming of the others.

Not every chase you take can be a 5 gen chase or youtube worthy but thats okay. You got caught off guard? Okay keep going, no one is mad at you. You got a lagspike? It´s okay keep going no one is mad at you and so on. But saying well yeah I went down fast but my mates didn´t complete everything in these 5 seconds well they must be horrible.

What kind of behaviour is that?

this is a community that complains about gameplay strats instead of changing up playstyle and adapting, and it is reflected in the gameplay with quitter mentality

My view is that even if the game had a bad start most are still winnable. if it’s clearly a lost game, you can still try your best to improve yourself. But some people seem to want easy stomps where they do gens uninterrupted, have easy chases against a bad killer, and get 3-4 escapes.

If someone purposely AFKs during a match you can report them, this is bannable.

Pretty much every trapper without meta could just stay in corner because is survs he is going against arent bad he is naturaly loosing 2 gens before he gets hook or even the first chase but I havent seen such behaviour from killers tbh, nothing gets me more iritated than that one teammate thats starts play for hatch on 2 gens left when we are still 3 alive it sounds crazy but there are many survivors like this or the ones that put gens before saves and then they mock killer but problem isnt in killer.

Biggest killers in this game are other survivors that wont help you when they should for the greater good of the team, sandbag you for their amusement or by accident (I dont mean bodyblocking only but things like rushing vault when there is no point doing so etc.).

I remember playing once SoloQ for hours to complete the tome Asap since there was 8 days left and i needed 20 levels to reach 100.

People were absurdly bad and we were losing for almost any killer, even weak M1 ones like Trapper or Ghostface

After some time I remember being so mad at my teammates that i DCed after a bad chase ( and i NEVER dc, NEVER EVER). I was so burned out from the game that i couldn't stand any minimal annoyance or frustration. Then i realized it was time to stop and do something else.

People are getting more and more stressed and can't let go of the game, then stuff like you've said happens. Also, there are so many entitled survivor that they feel they are right to blame others when the match is not going their way, even if they are the reason their team is sinking.

I can understand the urge to dc. Belive me I played League of Legends long enough. But I am one of these people which never surrender.

But now that I think about it. The behaviour of Vittorio seems to be "normal" in many games. How often I have seen on laner in League saying. "Well ######### we are 10k gold ahead but I didn´t have fun so I run it down, because when I don´t have fun you don´t deserve to win.

From time to time I thought oh nice a troll but this isn´t trolling anymore.

It really feels like an addiction when you don´t hit the satisfication you just try to take everything down.

I hate it when they give up after the first hook.

I've seen uptick of people brining luck offering to attempt on hook, I've been running shoulder the burden a lot and noticed some will try to win again if you shoulder them after they have tried to off themselves on hook 😂

unfortunately people need to understand that players may have their own challenges (cleanse totems, escape via hatch, get blinds ect). as a soloq player myself im always coming across people that seem to do nothing but i have learnt they were not doing "nothing" they just weren't doing what i needed them to do. If im looping the killer for ages and i see no one doing gens, they are doing totems or something, when these people get hooked i just dont unhook them, i do gens (my own objective). As long as people have individual goals that differ from the main goal of do gens, escape there will always be players that work on their own objective.

Yeah, this is pretty accurate. I've often asked my team why it took so long to get to a gen. They often say daily challenges, tomes, etc.

Honestly, these little side things the game gives really makes the match one sided. Any survivor who goes in to win has to HOPE the other 3 are also. Otherwise its likely a free 3-4k. I wonder how much of this (if any) contributes to commonplace community toxicity towards one another?

Yeah, i don't play LOL but i know by some friends how frustrating it can be.

About DBD, yeah, people have been quite "out of their minds" recently. Although it happens much more in survivor side, i've seen some killers DC's after a pokos didn't hit or after been outplayed once in their power. But mostly i've seen survivor do very dumb plays - tank hits for a person picked up right in front of a hook, going for flash saves or bodyblock while they are the only person dead on hook, understime a killer's power - and getting mad at it, either trying to go next or just straight up DCing.

People don't want to adapt, they want a PvP game go their way and get mad when it doesn't. That why i think its a good move from BHVR to increase DC penalties and get some punishment for people wanting to go next. Its a way to push burnt out people from the game, creating a healthier environment to other players.

"I looped the killer for years"

    Reality: 20 second chase.

If that happened to me I would start laughing. The guy must have a clock going at the speed of a wind turbine.

not everyone have to be a pro to enjoy a game, but this game basically forces you to. that's why it's so frustrating when you're serious and others aren't. honestly, the whole game design is just getting way too extreme.

    @Nayaselay

No one said he needed to be a pro at the game.

Just that he plays the game and don´t throw a tantrum at others which don´t care about his mistake as long as he keeps playing?

I wrote in a post that I think we could have won the game with a bot when he dced. Cause we just missed some seconds to escape.

Reminds me one game. Yamaoka, DeathSlinger

My teammates played really weird. Got DC on 4 gens. Killer didn't patrol gens, so I did almost solo 4 of them with ruin. Caught one free hit, looped a little, and got one hook stage as well.

I did gens. Rescued teammates. And the only moment I started to genuinely rat was when he slugged last teammate after I rescued her, healed her, and did 4th gen with her. She was unlucky and he passed through me, basically falling in stealth.

He really tried for 4k. Camped a little her body, camped hatch, then closed and triggered No Way Out. Did stealth good enough and opened gates thanks to sole survivor. Escaped in front of his face

Oh gosh, killer was really mad just for me doing gens and actually trying to avoid him, unlike my teammates who rush to his face only to loop 5 sec and then DC. Idk what I would feel if my teammates joined him in EGC. Too absurd

Let's not do the laughing part. We don't need Killers to resent Survivors even more. It's just unsportsmanlike.
