Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Today's trial map is awful.

It's 1 safe pallet after another all within 10 yards of each other. Multiple chained loops, incredibly strong main building connecting multiple double pallet areas. Really a head scratch moment and the question of how?

You mean ormond? its easy hold W+shift map tbh super easy to spot the killer and just prerun him and its super easy for flashlight saves because there are many open spaces so covering your screen is almost impossible.

Have killers gotten so used to maps spoon feeding them survivors by now that any time there's a map that doesn't blatantly do so it's some huge problem? Personally I don't mind Ormond Lake Mine as killer or survivor but I haven't played it since this last update. Given that 9.3 was another big gift to killers that nerfed pallets, buildings, and jungle gyms for survivors I sincerely doubt it was made more difficult for killer players if it was changed at all.

Wait until you get full 4 man with flashlight and then your only way how to get out of it without having your face full of light is just slugfest (slugging all or most to then get some hooks and focus on few to kick them out fastster), that map is super hard to go against something like this because its almost open area everywhere and as you mentioned many loops are short but low height to so unless you slug all its pretty hard game especialy if they do gens (because they have 8 hook stages before their final and 70 seconds on one yeah they can play little normaly to do huge gen progress on the start and then play more safe while someone is doing rest of the gens). Other good thing on this map is its super great for preruning so unless killer has great mobility he can controll as kaneki, billy, blight, wraith, dracula he will have hard time and traps can be seen easily on the bright ground both hags and trappers are super easy because 80% of the ground is pure white snow so its mostly good map for killers that have good mobility they can control (dreadge, sadako, springtrap have mobility but its locked to certain spots and that map is short so its not that usefull there unlike killers with good mobility they can control I mention above), other killers that are strong here are ones with good antiloop because of short loops and especialy low in height killers like clown, springtrap, nemi, xeno, hantress even dreadge can shine here and uotplay some weaker loops way faster than just pure m1 killers like trapper, merchant, adn stealth well its open and bright so unless you have ice skin on ghostface (this is probably one of two or three maps where this skin blends in) you wont have much utility drom stealth either because even buildings like main are great for spoting incoming danger and stealth wont help you there (ghostface has less objects to cover behind so his reveal is way easier), overall not worts map for killer but its not so enjoyable either and I wouldnt call it the killer heaven subzero as you hinting it.

We must not play the same game if you think badham holds killers hands. In 2025 there should be a clear understanding of what makes a map fun and or fair for both sides. Obviously, there isn't.

Before the pallet update, I found Ormond Lake Mine to be one of the best balanced maps in the game.
I wish BHVR would revert it back to the original state.

People talk about this big pallet nerf but don't look at the fact that it was just a month ago that they added them. Unless you just started the game yesterday then I'm not sure how you can agree that adding them was ever a good idea.

    ^ this.

I would not call regular Ormond unbalanced, but Ormond Lake Mine is probably the best Map they released somewhat recently. It is very balanced.

Who said anything about Badham? We were talking about Ormond. Personally I like Badham on both killer and survivor but I know that's not a common opinion.

I prefer maps that feel like they have actual buildings rather than randomly generated patterns of rocks, debris, and stacked junk.

You mentioned "maps" being spoon fed to killers. I simply named just 1 that isn't even playable for most killers and you defend it.

No, I questioned if killers are so used to maps being designed around spoon feeding them survivors that any time there isn't one that does that it's considered a big problem. Then, as if to prove my point for me, you trotted out killer's favorite boogeyman map - Badham.

I didn't defend anything - I just mentioned that I personally like the map whether I'm playing survivor or killer. That's not a defense, that's just saying I like it. If you want a defense then here - It's been my experience that it's perfectly winnable as killer. You have to actually think about where survivors would go and have some map sense - but that's just how maps that aren't designed to funnel survivors straight into your weapon work. My personal experience on that map tells me that anyone who says they literally can't ever win are being disingenuous or on copium regarding their own skill issue.

Sometimes I swear I'm the only person who plays killer in this game that isn't terrified of that map.

I personally have minimal problems 4king on any map, doesn't change the fact that it can be a miserable experience on many killers which isn't your experience. Badham, lery's, garden, rpd.. the list could go on. these map trials are for feedback. I like the map, as with all the maps. In my opinion, like alot of maps, it could use some adjustments.

I know Ormond was a popular survivor map before, but I did not like the Ormond changes that came with Dracula. I feel I may be a minority since I never hear about post rework Ormond
