Cheating is out of control
Just got insta downed and second hooked from healthy zero hooks in one hit.
Just had a zero cooldown not looking me hit as a second hit while stunned.
Make your game server side.
At least try to make your game playable.

I've seen more people cheating in the past couple days than I have the rest of the year. Last killer did exactly what you had happen, multiple swings in a row with no cooldown. Seemed like a bot the way they moved kind of jerky and would swing if you were in a locker.

There seems to be some active cheat advertisement going on in the game thats why there is more cheaters as they are either the ones advertising the cheats or they are the people who buy them. There would not be cheats in the first place if there is no people who would buy them. Still they get bored eventually as cheating just makes the game get more stale faster.

It's seriously bad.
Pointless to complain about tunnel/slug/camping when they can just do whatever they want regardless.
Make the game server side.
It's the only way reduce cheaters.7 -
Stale for intelligent people maybe.
Cheaters don't actually have a sense of what makes a game fun.
Rules make a game fun.
To them, misery of others is fun.
They don't tire of being a miserable waste of oxygen.3 -
100% of the time. If someone is cheating I can't type in chat or type in reporting. It auto deletes to prevent reporting.
Should be an obvious thing but bhvr is lazy and unwilling to address cheating issues.9 -
I have been able to report every cheater I have run into.

The game is already "server side", it just lacks server validation for simple player actions. It seems the devs lack the capability to update their server code to include this validation, since it's 10 years of spaghetti code in there. The best they could do now is to revoke all the free EGS accounts, as it's where the majority of cheater accounts come from: this would not solve the problem completely, but at least it would be within the capacity of bhvr.

Tbh I have more hope for mayers and pinhead returning as license into the game than the devs fighting the cheaters and reducing their numbers greatly while preventing them to take the game over again.

I doubt they can do any revoking of those Epic accounts from that disastrous free promotion years back.
From what I gather, their servers don't do even basic sanity checks, looking for & maybe even recording impossible speeds or jumps etc.

They could lock EGS accounts in their exclusive matchmaking, not intersecting with the regular cross platform with any settings. This could be easy to implement and would reduce the problem for the general playerbase.
Of course, adding server validation would be the proper solution, but at this point we can't even hope they are able to do it. We now need to give them suggestions that are not only good, but also easy and quick to implement, because anything complex always gets postponed indefinitely until they try to implement it, screw it up completely and then revert it.

lots of cheaters nowdays, not just in dbd, in all sort of games, eventually even dbd will be like official csgo.

Unfortunately, cheating in online video games has become something of an industry of its own.
Bizarre, really.

Yeah some reason there is people who pay of such things. Just reported one cheater myself and keep doing it every time I run into one.

Ran into one myself last night.
Epic or Xbox app player (PC) - Won't mention any names though.
Loaded into the match, and as soon as I gained control of my character, the gens were done, and the Dwight was already out of the gate.
Needless to say they were promptly reported, and this morning I received a message saying that actions has been taken.2 -

Sounds like a typical game against SWF without gen slowdown perks

I've noticed that cheaters in DBD is kinda like the flu.
Every year there's a period of time, usually a few weeks to around a month but never more than two, where there's a big rise in cheater. This usually means that hackers found a new way to bypass DBD anti-cheat.
After a while, BHVR upgrades their security silently and the cheating epidemic goes away and we return to status quo, rinse and repeat. It's always been like this.

Its currently partly happening as someone started advertising cheats in the game with bots and it clearly worked as some bought and used them.

Yeah it's pretty bad out there. As someone who plays Fortnite on the side Epic also unbanned a whole slew of verified cheaters lately too for reasons that God only knows, predictably the comp scene there right now is absolutely plagued with cheaters galore.

Idk I havent noticed devs to talk about it or mentioning some upgrading of anticheat or other things that would help to reduce cheaters(it seems devs are kinda inspire from fight club the quote "we dont talk about that"). Funnyest thing is how unpunishing cheating in DBD is because I think it takes week or more months for cheater to get banned.
Im starting to notice people tend to more cheat with friends meaning its like swf that plays togeather but one guy is cheating and helping others to have "fun" (how I noticed that? people that are very altruistic and have info normal players dont have like pulling perfect bodyblocks or knowing where to go for their teammates even without any perks that could help to see them etc.).

At this point the blatant cheaters bother me less. The ones that wreck your sanity are the subtle ones. In a multi-hour session it is very likely you’ll hit matches where gens melt for no clear reason or a killer yanks people from lockers across the map with zero info perks. Keep it faint, call it “reads” or “efficiency,” and it slides right through.
Subtle client-side tricks have been the meta for years because there’s no meaningful, automatic server authority to choke them out.
The business side is the elephant in the room. Anti-cheat and netcode refactors don’t sell. Skins do. That’s why the next Feng or Sable outfit ships faster than any backend audit. Compare that mindset to studios like Sandfall Interactive or Larian, who actually protect the core loop even when it isn’t sexy marketing.
I’d love to be wrong. Prove it: real server-side validation, real telemetry, real replays. Until then, expect more “gut feelings” and “lucky reads” winning games.

They had 10 years to 'prove it'. At this point we can just take the 'subtle' speedhackers as the requested nerf to the Nurse
Deadlock, a game by a much smaller company (by the amount of employees) already had all of it within a year of early development (they even have complete global stats about every match available to everyone, not requiring to wait for the devs to 'drop' some powerpoints once in a while, you can watch a full demo of any game of any other player, not just yours).

And still BHVR went on vacation and let this situation unaddressed.
They really love this game and it's players. S20 -
Something definitely happened to their parody of an anti-cheat recently: just today I encountered two different full cheater lobbies with the usual "subtle" speedhacks, hyperfocus, etc, who didn't even deny it in the chat. That's not big news for this game, what surprised me was them being on steam instead of the usual EGS. So they are not afraid of getting their steam accounts banned now? Because I don't remember a free giveaway of DbD on steam. Seems like cheater bans are back to full-manual mode now.

my first match this weekend was a teleporting Dwight. thanks, Rancor. I barely caught it.
