Object of Obsession - consistency buff
I think that this perk should 100% guarantee you being the obsession at the start of the trial (only exception is if there is more than 1 person running this perk, then 1 person running OoO becomes the obsession randomly). Right now, you could run this perk, and someone else could be the obsession, so you don't get half the value of this perk. And if the killer doesn't have an aura reading perk, you get 0 value during the match.
I don't think that any other survivor perk depends so much on the user of the perk being the obsession. I don't think guaranteed obsession would be too much - it would simply allow for more consistency of use.

I'm not against the idea or anything, but I'm really split. tbh, not being the Obsession is not necessarily better or worse for you since at that point, you will gain all the benefits of OoO with zero downside or risk to yourself.

Its already working how you are requesting it to but there is just other obsession perks that effect obsession selection. There is no randomness unless there is no survivors with perk that effects obsession selection or there is several survivors with perks that effect obsession selection.
Object of Obsession, Decisive Strike, Mettle of Man and Sole Survivor increase your chance to be the obsession by +100%
Blood Pact and For the People decreases the chance of you becoming obsession by -100%

They could just decouple the intermittent aura reading from being the Obsession, and leave the speed boost tied to it.

Like distortion. If the killer isnt running aura perks.
its a empty perk slot.
but it now being a general perk, its unlikely it will ever get a buff.

I think more interesting way to implement this would be to make the obsession status swap to you every 30 seconds (whenever the perk activates).
If we are concerned about the risk of multiple survivors running this and making it a moot point, then thats just more reason to allow survivors to see each others builds in the lobby.

not true; no value is inherently value unto itself be ause that is surefire knowledge.

I would be in favor of removing the obsession requirement.
Also unlike Distortion it can turn into a negative perk slot, killers in undetectable will not have there auras shown but object will still show the aura to the killer.0 -
Tbh, OOO is just not a good perk. It's only good when you are not obsession and killer has full aura build.
