Iridescent shard grind is ridiculous.
There should be an overall increase in xp gain or iri shards gained per level, either that or introduce way more ways to get them or reduce prices of cosmetics, it takes about 100 levels and hundreds of hours of gameplay just to afford one full legendary cosmetic, that is a disgusting grind especially for a game that isn’t even free. This is obviously to heavily encourage players to spend money on the game, but with so many things like licensed characters and cosmetics already locked behind a paywall, this is just greed.

The price for the cosmetic is fine as it is. However, I think BHVR need to increase the iri shard gain a bit.

The normal ways to gain shards are fine enough, I would just like more.
I made a suggestion a long time ago, about Maps (the items), and I tried expanding it's uses by adding an add-on, which would spawn a single glyph during the endgame. Interacting with it would give you 30-40 Iri shards.
Of course, this is just a singular idea.

imo all they need to do is separate characters from iri shards - make a new currency where you buy characters but it takes the same current time it does to get that new currency so it won't be easier to get characters - and makes easier to get iri shards for cosmetics.
or they could just do the easier way more shards in the rift quests and the levels itself. and they could increase BP as well in the quests/rifts
there's a game i play that gives you 1500 credits in their battle pass (enough to buy a free skin) - so that'd be nice for dbd as well

Back in the day games used to give skins and extra content as free just for playing the game or doing extra challenges. Now withj this stupid microtransaction nonsense, you can expect to pay more than the base price of the game for more content of the game. It's not unreasonable to ask for easier progression for dbd in 2026. Much of the characters are behind paywalls anyway because they are licensed.

It’s not difficult, just time consuming, I only ever spend my iridescent shards on new original chapters. Currently sitting on 290k shards.
Players need to vote for 2xp whenever the anniversary events are up instead pf 2x bloodpoints.0 -
Shards is the thing you complain about? 😅 Have you looked at cell prices? :D 15$ for friggin cosmetics is insane. If you play the game at any pace above casual, you get tons of shards.
Few months ago I actually dumped 100k shards into stuff I didnt want or need, cause I had no clue what to do with them… And I had alrdy bought every single killer with shards… so I guess that's about 200k shards I had in a few years time…? probably more, but you get the picture ;)Im just gonna take a wild guess and assume you are a fairly fresh new player? That is the only way I would be able to understand how you are looking up a grind mountain.
Also you don't 'need' cosmetics to play the game, and shards still is something you get for free just by playing the game… If you don't get at least 10k by the time the next unlicensed killer releases, you play well below casual level.
If you want the maths on shards to feel better, I believe its about 1 shard per 14xp on average. you get aprox 600xp per 10minute match.

I never understood why devs are so stingy with Iri shards. There are probably thousands of cosmetics that are available for shards but you can literally just get 1% worth of shards. they also disabled the possibility to get new cosmetics with shards. But from the changes of the past years you can easily tell that bhvr is just about to make money as much as possible and not servicing their customers.

If they did more xp bonuses, it wouldnt be so bad.
It was THE primary way to even grind for shards.
But we havent had one in months, so the overall grind takes hundrets of hours to get.
For someone who has a 9/5, its honestly very unreasonable to ask to grind this much to unlock characters or get a single cosmetic recolour

yea they're not doing that buddy dbd is like 95% of their income and will they not harm that

They could solve that problem by releasing some Naughty Bear games, we've all been waiting for our favorite party crasher to make a comeback. 🐻 🔪
