Hot take: Comp dbd is a joke and the game should never be balanced around it
Behaviour should never listen to these people that want the game to be competetive, remember when half the people quit when skill based match making was added? yeah that's what will happen when you design games for 1%ers and sweats who want to turn everything into some cringe try hard esports competition. It's not a competitive game and it will never be, there are too many uncontrolled variables that affect the outcome of a match.
Just focus on making the game fun to play for an average person and thematic, thank you.

The game isn't even remotely close to being balanced around comp DBD.
Just take a look at the ruleset for any major tournament and you'll see how different the games are. If it was going to be balanced around comp, we'd have character bans, no perk stacking and designated maps.

No one is asking for the game to be balanced competitively; Comp is still played without allowing the anti facecamp meter, you barely see anyone asking for that to be removed.

Idk who thinks they balance the game around top 5% of player base especialy around comp level. I think devs stated their aim is more on top 30% -40% of the player base so the better part of the better half if we say it in common sence which is good in my oppinion because if you balance it around the worse half that it will be compleat mess for that upper half.

I doubt this will be an issue. Actual comp DBD players (ie who play tournaments) have spoken up previously and said the game should never be balanced around them. Anyone who says it should be clearly doesn't play comp.

I mean, most people are aware that fully dedicating this game to be competitive would drive the casual playerbase away.
