Well im usualy just looking to talk about the game with people. And give feedback and answer questions once in a while. But on a side note, trying to get this name^ seen by the forum mods by posting comments often lol as posting about it seems to just get ignored by everyone.

Discussing topics I feel passionate about, sharing knowledge and clearing up misunderstandings if I can.

Discussion and alternative perspectives mostly, dbd's one of those games where having a narrow minded perspective really hinders you.

E.g if you only play Survivor and discuss Survivor problems then you miss out on understanding the Killer role and it's various problems. Vice versa. I truly think if everyone played both roles more, there'd be less mud flinging in the community. Not to say you can't have preferences or anything like that, that's totally fine.

I've even got an anecdotal example, when I was newer to the forum - I believe it was around the time Wraith got a big buff, I was getting really frustrated going against him so I made a thread basically saying "is shadowdance wraith OP what am I supposed to do against it" and the responses I got really helped and changed my perspective which in turn helped me play better against it.

Its a nice lil place to go to whenever work is pretty slow. Discussing certain topics is fun, but making some silly posts/replies or posting silly gifs with the goal of making people smile is one of the things I enjoy the most :)

Also, I have found the forum a good place to meet other like-minded people. - You know who you are, when you read this :)

Because reddit is a cesspool and impossible to actually have a conversation with anyone because everyone's just farming karma and at least here i can have a real discussion. If you have the "wrong opinion" there people downvote you despite the fact that the purpose of the downvote is to show that the post is "bad" not that you just disagree with the opinion.

I just really want to get the game in a place that's more consistently fun, as I really do enjoy DBD, I wish there was more Horror multiplayer games.

I don't use social media so kind of just gravitated here and stayed due to shared interest in the game. Found like-minded people to socialise, vent, and commiserate with, as well as give feedback, get news and codes, read patch notes etc. It's alot quieter nowadays than it used to be, which is a shame.

Someone needs to make sure that there isnt more crazed ideas added to the game.

    Lightbringer was one of them....

Idk why the devs want 2v8 to be like 1v4 when 1v4 is not fun due to its balancing.

I man the Western walls looking out across a desolate, war torn landscape. A vigil some say is no longer necessary, but I know, as do a few other haunted individuals, I know it always returns.

Bad Math will come back and I shall be ready when it does.

Also, ya know, feedback and stuff.

These days it's usually to spread the word of the bird.

I joined the forums because I was deep into my obsession with the game and had nobody to talk to about it. My friends and family would never play this game and I didn't feel like waiting an age to be allowed to post on the DBD subreddit (no great loss because I hate Reddit anyway).

At the time, I also felt like there wasn't that many voices in the discussions from newer / less experienced players. Something that I felt was missing from the player feedback BHVR was getting. Some things have improved, but I still think this is something of a blind spot for BHVR. Content creators often make a lot of great points, but their takes are distorted because their experience of DBD is so far removed from that of the average player.

These days, I'm a lapsed player that barely plays enough to get out of the Ash ranks. But I still come here out of habit, to read people's takes on things and to stay connected with what's going on in the DBD world.

Edit: Oh yeah, and to do my fair share of venting as well!

It’s really quite simple, I just pull out some cool/funny/pretty bird pics from all over the internet, to make people enthusiastic about the birds around them.

And then I get bird pics in return (no ai allowed). And I then get to ID those birds (also no ai allowed).

And even if one step fails, I still win ‘cause there’s still a bird on my screen.

Used to enjoy discussing aspects of the game with the people here. Sadly most of them are gone now due to the management or because the awful direction that the game been going for over the last couple of years.

I myself don't play the game as often anymore and because of that am not that active here anymore. The forums don't feel like a place of discussion anymore. You can get shut down for the smallest of inconveniences and I don't even want to talk about people in charge being grateful (which they are clearly not) for the amount of time and effort some people here put into trying to help a game that is slowly being put on life support.

On top of all this, suggestions go absolutely nowhere in 90% of all cases.

The simple answer is therefore: why bother.

For the cool people here on the forums of which most of them have either left already or have gotten banned?

For trying to help people that are clearly not deserving or grateful for all the effort put in?

I'm still here cause I still somewhat love this game and the joy it brought me over the years.

So to answer your question OP: nostalgia for when times where better.

It's mainly to stay in the loop of how the game is developing and how other players are reacting. To see what the hot topics are and speculate on how that might affect the developers decisions.

I sometimes share my feedback when i feel strongly about something but it's not often. I often feel misunderstood by other users here when i do frustratingly but i at least hope that the developers might read it.

I usually take part of topics i feel passionate about, but lately i haven't really been writing much.

After the downvotes came to play i feel like good replys gets downvoted due to biased people and maybe just people that don't like you. These forums are filled with people that only play 1 side or heavily lean on one side, and they cannot see problems from the other side due to this, but they give out bad takes. If you comment on these posts you usually get heavily downvoted by the other biased people that share the 1 sided view of the game.

I read posts almost daily though. 😊
