This update is a bit dry.

Vecna is cool, Dustin's chemical trap is great, & the long list of bug fixes is very appreciated.

There's just not any actual game changes.

  • The Survivor meta hasn't really changed at all since 2016
  • Tunneling is still a major issue
  • No perk changes
  • No new map
  • No Hawkins map showcase
  • The Walking Dead content didn't receive any touch ups
  • The Five Nights at Freddy's content didn't receive any either
  • Vee's perks didn't receive any changes
  • Fog vials are still stuck at 2 charges
  • Demogorgon didn't get the add-on pass everyone was hoping for

How is it that Blight can have an add-on that gives him Undetectable whenever he uses his power, but Demogorgon has to use 2 add-ons just for 5-ish seconds of Undetectable?

Like seriously, I can forgive not having a new map & no Springtrap buffs, but how has Demogorgon not received an add-on pass?

to be fair, all the stuff you wanted came already in the November patch the one that tested the slugging and tunneling changes

Vecna was supposed to release with all of that but was delayed cause of walking dead

I figured it out the instant I saw there was no balance changes

With a few very rare exceptions (such as Lara's vaulting perk), it will practically never change. Today (2026), they could never release a good survivor perk without sparking a killer revolution.

Clearly, they need to skip one or two more chapters.

I wasn't referring to meta builds, I was talking about meta gameplay.

Spreading out on gens, waiting the last second to unhook to optimize gens repairs, ignoring Hexes & other interactions, pre-dropping every pallet, dying in a corner to optimize killer pickup & carry time.

Things like that, actual Survivor gameplay hasn't significantly changed since 2016.

Make Totems a proper secondary objective?

Have gens spawn gradually in the trial depending on how quickly or slowly the killer performs their objective?

Add a repair penalty if you're injured & cursed?

Rework the hook spawn logic so dead zones don't spawn nearly as frequently?

There'll be holes in these suggestions, but I came up with them on the fly, BHVR had 10 years to think of something & still let Survivor gameplay stagnate.

If you don't fork over cash you get nothing until March, not even the bugs they said they fixed were entirely removed either. Who cares if some of the weaker killers and perks of either side are bad, have you considered buying our new legendaries*?

*haha careful though we might take the money and not give you any auric cells haha

They also introduced new bugs with this update, by the way. At least the more hard auto-aim on the hooked survivors, harder rubber-banding for Nurse and the pallet stun distance is even longer now for some reason. Each of these bugs has its own thread in the main discussion section. And here is the kicker: guess which killer is not affected by any of these bugs? Who can ignore pallets, hit unhooking survivors without M1 and is not a Nurse? What a coincidence, huh?

great job BHVR, the future looks brighter than the shine from character's hair for no reason… unless Michonne went grey during the ones who live

It's been 7 months since they've broken Baermar and I'm still waiting for them to fix him. Every cosmetic of the duo belongs to Aestri. Apparently a licensed character with licensed cosmetics is worth putting on the back burner indefinitely.
