What if, we all wait at least 2 weeks to start giving an opinion on an killer ?
2 hours after the PTB, we already saw people saying Vecna / Henry was BROKEN / OP or WEAK, then, on the release, people start to lock in an understand how to play against, and it's fine, and the more the time will go, it's an battle between Henry / Vecna enjoyers who will try to push the characters with new tech and masterizing him, and the survivors who will learn counterplay. I'm just tired of that a little and i do think it will be greater for everyone.

I thought most of the ptb feedback said he was great and well made

It's a unknown after 5 games for me at the moment.
2 games against good survivors i got stomped and 2 games against poor survivors i stomped them.
5th game I got 3 on death hook but no kills (don't tunnel).
So he's pretty good against newer survivors but definitely not op, if not easy to counter, if survivors are even just decent.
Time will tell.

yea but theres always someone out there that'll come and say he's overtune/OP/unfun/unhealthy just because they got down. it'll be nice if had a new killer for at least a week before people start posting "nerf this" threads.

I haven't seen any feedback like this, at least not in the forums here yet. I'm sure there's one guy somewhere, but I'm not seeing even a single post about it, let alone outcry.
There were, for example, at least 5 posts about Steve's voice/scream. And a couple "X seems to be bugged", but the only one with the new killer is inconsistency with using the vine attack and latency.

I think it's okay to discuss the power and how it interacts, we should be encouraging this sort of discussion not discouraging.

- Honestly, everyone in PTB seemed to love Vecna... I didn't hear a single complaint (obviously it was only the killers who gave their opinion). the real test (for vecna and any other killer) is on the Live servers, never on the PTB... after years of DBD I now understand this. And I agree 100%, a real test is AT LEAST 1 month of Live server... otherwise we will find ourselves in the same situation as the fog vials

Agreed. I've been playing him a lot since yesterday and ive had good and bad matches.
Had few survivors yell at me in the endgame that they are reporting me because i played this killer. These survivors ran straight lines and dropped pallets while i just used my power underneath them. When they noticed i was somewhat of antiloop killer they gave up and stood still. Sigh..
I think this killer is pretty balanced. You can dodge the attacks pretty easily if you just pay attention.

No one is complaining about valid discussion, its the whiners who are bad or get outplayed that come here immediately crying for nerfs rather than try and learn counterplay and giving nonsense opinions that people get sick of all the time.

Played him all day Survivors are starting to figure out how to counter him.
So far I don't have any gripes other then I really dont like how 1 survivor can cleanse worldbreaker in 5 seconds on a single clock there's 4 clocks spread around the map it should be a team effort so like at least 2 should be needed to cleanse it super fast sure 1 can still cleanse faster just not super fast as it is now.

You're right but i still wanna say that i think this killer is maybe the best designed one ever. Up there with hillbilly wesker and blight, but blight needs nerf. He doesnt feel cheap and feels skill expressive as and against. None of that predropping, mathematically optimal braindead "gameplay".
Whoever designed or took part in this killer should get a raise tbh.

We already had two weeks of PTB. Nothing new will come out of it. It never did for the reasons this game is not that deep and you can figure out things pretty quick.

He's pretty balanced, as he was in the PTB. Though, similarly to nurse, hos counter is mainly dodging and robbing los, just with a ranged killer who's slower, and also is punished alot for missing, giving you an opening to w key

i like how i have to look down when getting chased and he gets gen rushed like any other killer he feels fine and not that much different from his ptb self but he doesn't really need to get buffw or nerfs

but how will I farm my YouTube views/forum downvotes if I don't post NOW, even though my opinion will change in 1 match? think of my poor career

I can easily see how people may play these new killers, that can completely ignore loops, and get really excited about their kill rate going up, only to be disappointed when the community requests a balancing effort that results in that person’s inflated kill rate reducing.

Just waiting for thos post that were here like half the year ago, posts like “springtrap is new ghoul” etc.

I do not understand why people are giving their point of view on the killer on the comment, this is NOT the subject of my talk, the complete opposite

i love how when a new killer comes out yall are so quick to tell us survivors to “just wait a few weeks to adjust, learn, and adapt to them. don’t jump to conclusions super early.” when yall couldn’t even handle the anti tunnel and anti slug ptb for more than 2 days before basically forcing bhvr to pull the plug checks notes, TWICE. funny how the killer that completely ignores the 2 main resources survivors have (windows and pallets) is “perfectly balanced” like nurse just suddenly wasn’t a problem for the past 10 years because of her ability to ignore said pallets and windows.

I felt as if it's important to express opinions about new killers and how they're being handled because it directly shows what was and what wasn't changed from the PTB. However, I'm often of the opinion that unless the killer is obviously insanely busted, (Like Kaneki or Krasue), we probably should hold off on saying anything.
I for one, am really enjoying facing off against Vecna. I even made a thread earlier to help out other people understand and grasp his power so they could counter it too; and it's only been like 2 - 3 days since the killer released.
But, this type of stuff happens every time a killer is released; it's not unexpected.
Killer mains will scream and yell that the new killer feels underpowered or try oppress people who express that the new killer feels extremely overpowered
Survivor Mains will scream and yell that the new killer feels overpowered or try oppress people who express that the new killer feels extremely underpowered.
It's one of the main reasons why I stop posting and commenting on here; I just lurk. The DBD community is too far gone to pull their heads out their rears and understand that for a community to thrive, we can't be at each others necks and we should all have an equal amount of say in how certain perks work or killers should be handled.
But then there's BHVR and… well, I'm not touching that topic with a 50 foot pole because we ALL know how that works.
Overall, I think expression opinions and pooling information together to help others is incredibly important; it's just those people that like to gatekeep counter play or oppress others just to have their way that make it look so bad.2 -
And how its always "wait to learn how to counter and adapt to the new killer" and no one mentions "wait for killers to learn how to play the new killer." The onus is always on the survivor even when the ability is much more on the killer to hit than the survivor to dodge. You can make it trickier to hit but this killer WILL hit if they have practice. I do enjoy going against him but he is too good at tunneling, you can't body block him like you would a normal killer and facing him when the killer has bad ping is a nightmare.
I don't disagree with the sentiment that people will try to oppress each other but I think you are forgetting how much Krasue and Ghoul were buffed PTB to live and how much that was the cause of them being overpowered. The people making claims of the killers being underpowered have been listened to much more regularly, at least this past year, than anyone else while features survivors have been clamoring for for years have once again been swept under the rug. Ultimately, yes all of these are BHVR's fault but one "side" is clearly being listened to more frequently.

It's crazy how even on this discussion people continue to spam their opinions on the power of the killer or killers already released, that's precisely the point, to avoid rushing, to believe that some can't help but give a hasty opinion that no one has asked for. Besides, crazy to see the number of disagreements when all they ask for is reserve and time-consuming analysis

Since the release of the killer everyone agreed that she was problematic by design tho

One of the few relevant comments on this discussion, thank you

Personally I don't care if the others have found a new character or map "good, or not good, or anything else", make your own opinion by playing the PTB and then at the release of the game if you are not on Steam, rather than following the consensus of some
