now that we are getting resident evil requiem this month can we get a new DLC for resident evil?

maybe jack or lady D as the killer, or the new antagonist in Resident evil requiem alone with Grace Ashcroft as the survivor maybe? since resident evil is such a popular series it would be a bang to make a third DLC chapter for it. it never gets old or boring.

Well there are a lot of characters still available. But wed have to see what the next anniversary roadmap says because i have doubts itl be the anniversary chapter.

And who knows if they plan to do more chapter 2s with other licenses first before making a 3rd.

Exactly. a lot of the fanbase for DBD loves the Resident Evil Series so it would be a smart move if behavior capitilizes again and collabs with capcom for another chapter of Resident Evil.

I'd kill for a Luis Serra legendary cosmetic from the RE4 remake.

Yeah there is so many characters I'd love, having Billy to play as a duo with Rebecca would be fun. Also Claire having a new voice would be nice, she sounds so cursed.

Lady D would be amazing, I want her to be able to pick up and pallet and hurl it at a survivor as an optional ranged attack.

I'm worried about the (alleged) Zero remake to be honest. A lot of people's big complaints with the game are the exact reasons I love it. It was my first RE game so maybe that's why I'm able to overlook some things, but I personally love the the stricter inventory management (shoutout to the Hookshot), item dropping system, having to juggle two characters at once, and just the general high difficulty of the game.

The biggest complaint I hear is definitely the item dropping system replacing the classic item boxes, and all of the backtracking that causes. I do understand that item boxes were a staple for the series and not having them is kind of weird, but I firmly believe it was the right choice for Zero to try something new, and they mostly succeeded IMO. As a new player with no real knowledge of the series, I didn't have much problem with it. Zero's maps are designed around the system. Each of the main areas is either small (like the train) or has a central-ish main room that you'll pass through a lot which effectively becomes your item box. I've always maintained that most of the complaints of backtracking in Zero stem from poor management. In Zero, you'll only ever need to backtrack as far as you left the items whereas in the others you can only sort your inventory at several pre-determined points which can be pretty awkward to reach. I did so much more backtracking in REmake than I ever did in Zero personally, but I understand it's not everyone's idea of fun.

I see a lot of people say the solution is to "just add item boxes" but I don't think it can work that way. If they replace item dropping completely and return to the item boxes then the game loses one of its core features that differentiate it from the rest of the games. And if they add item boxes in addition to item dropping then the inventory management becomes so easy that a limited inventory might as well not exist. I think the ideal solution is to stick with the original item dropping system, but make it so items you've previously dropped carry over when you enter the next big area. The biggest point of friction with the system — that even I can acknowledge — is definitely trying to carry all of your stuff over to the next "main" area of the game once you progress. It's mostly just busywork that serves to slow you down, so I wouldn't mind if they cut it by having a little cutscene of Rebecca carrying a backpack or something that has all of your previously-dropped stuff in once you reach the next milestone. That would be my solution, but who knows what they'll do?

There's a few story elements that I can also concede are pretty weak (which I won't get into here for the sake of anyone who hasn't played it and doesn't want spoilers) but anyone familiar with the game will probably know what I mean. The thing I really want out of a Zero remake is a brushed up story with better character development and better connection to the rest of the franchise (especially 1). Most of the gameplay should stay in tact as far as I'm concerned, but given how much hate Zero gets I would not be surprised if they went nuclear with the changes and we ended up with a remake in the style of RE3R.

I'm holding out hope that it'll be good and faithful, but we'll have to see given how much a mixed back the remakes are lol

In my opinion, Resident Evil hasn't been for RE fans since RE6 capped. There is valid criticism toward 6, but the characters felt like themselves and the plot felt at home with the franchise. Immediately starting with Revelations 2, it just hasn't been the same. The characters are written like different people and the plots feel strange. Prior to that, we had stinky plots like Degeneration and Revelations (again, in my opinion) but it wasn't anywhere near as disjointed as it is now. And now in addition to Zero, the CODE:Veronica leaks only further reinforce that.

It's not just RE though. It's very disappointing to see how good these franchises could be before they were all watered down. Doesn't really make you want to be a gamer anymore.

My primary fear is that they will change rebecca's appearance and personality completely like they did with "new jill" who i just could not like due to her feeling so far from the source character in every way lol.

But on another note some of my favorite characters came from revelations like Moira Burton and Rachelle (for obvious reasons even tho she died so quick lol)

Gosh I'd love it if they did! Lady D / Heisenberg would be amazing, Heisenberg's power alone has so many different directions you can explore. He would destroy gens from afar or heck even the gate lol.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed we get Chris' skin from RE8, Ethan, Alex Wesker, Sherry Birkin, Krauser, Hunnigan, Jake Wesker, Luis Serra or Excella! They have so many great characters. Would love to see any of them tbh.

Honestly at least DBD does, which I'm very grateful for. Unlike Capcom themselves. IDK why they don't do more… they could make their own version of a coop versus games with all the characters they have (a little similar to Left 4 Dead 2 versus mode, and could absolutely give their own twist to it!) Also don't get me started on the severe lack of official Wesker merch 😭 so thank goodness for BHVR for giving us more RE

I disagree entirely, you sound jaded and burnt out and that's okay, at least that's how it comes across.

I love a lot of the games that have came out recently, the remakes have been a lot of fun and it's great to see a new generation of gamers discover the series.

when a series runs for like 30 years things are gonna feel different over time, Claire is still the selfless girlboss we've always had, Revelations 2 is just a hiccup along the line (mainly her interactions with Natalia). She still is herself in RE2make and in Death Island.

the old games havnt gone anywhere, they are still as awesome as ever, but I also love the recent games.

I wouldn't say that. I think it's normal for fans to feel alienated after a big shift, but I was actually all on board when others had abandoned the franchise.

Post-RE6, Capcom pivoted in a dramatic fashion to try to pull in fresh meat. Not saying they shouldn't have, since they did the same with RE4. It's the way they did it that's the issue. It's very clear they don't just want to reinterpret the old games through a new lens like the Chronicles era, but to reboot the entire franchise. Not everyone disagrees with that and that's fine, but I do find it jarring to see characters acting strangely and dynamics shifted. It's a bit like we're back in the 90s again where anything goes, which again is pretty jarring after they tightened everything up post-4. So in that sense, I guess I have outgrown the franchise. I expect more and it's just not there.

That last point is patently untrue. For instance, look at how often Outbreak has been referenced since 7. Where can you play Outbreak? Where can you learn about Outbreak? RE:Verse gave Ada her Death's Door outfit. Which storefront can I buy Umbrella Chronicles from and give it a playthrough? It was like pulling teeth just to get the PC ports of the first 3 games on GOG because Capcom believes the remakes suffice. And again, that's part of the problem.
