Who are the most iconic forum members on here?
Since we always seems to bicker about killers, survivors, tunneling, genrushing and whatnot. I wanted to ask everyone who they think are the most iconic members on the forums these days.

Agreed on all. Legends.

Iconic, due to the expertise of bird posting
2 -
100% agree with your list so not going to repeat all the names.
You, @THE_Crazy_Hyena should definitely be on there.
I'm too lazy to tag each one or put where they belong so tippy2k2, Tragic Solitude, Orion, Mooks, C3Tooth, TheGannMan, JPLongstreet.
I feel like I'm forgetting people. 😬
7 -
Thank you, kind sir!
I agree with the order, though I'd personally put you and ForThePeople in the iconic list.
Hope it's okay to tag @karatekit and @killer_hugs. I really enjoy reading their comments.3 -
Excuse me sir but I go under "troll"
9 -
I feel like I forgot a few names as well, so thanks for mentioning them :)
1 -
Of course :) Tag who you feel belong here

This is how I find out Coffeecrashing got banned damn
Agreed on the list tho, pretty accurate

This content has been removed.
-
And look! Even Unknown decided to show up!
11 -
So I took a long break from the forums at one point, does anyone know what the deal is with that?
Is it like an automod thing or? lmao
4 -
This one is definitely legendary. Shows up in every post.
20 -
Unknown is the most iconic forum member.
12 -
It seems to be a bug. There was a post where I was the first comment and when I revisited there was one of those above me, so nothing had been removed or anything.
5 -
Ah, thanks for the explanation!
Here I was thinking the DBD moderation team had sent someone to a forum purgatory where they aren't banned but were doomed to have all their posts auto removed and profile hidden unbeknowest to them…
Truly reality is disappointing…
5 -
Iirc it does look similar to being jailed and having all your past posts become hidden, so it's kinda confusing.
4 -
hm, im good with noticeable 🤘😁🤘
3 -
ICONIC? ME?
13 -
@Ryuhi belongs on the list too
4 -
Honestly, I'm gonna say Balrog, coz despite all the grief people give them they still press on and try to engage with us.
Same with Mandy, I'm grateful for the effort they put in.7 -
Honestly, I was trying to remember all the names from the past that deserve to be on there more. There were a lot of users who used to give very insightful and well constructed analysis of things better than my rants, but they've been gone for years for one reason or another. I'm just an old head who barely plays anymore at this point, and I'm probably best known for my posts being too long to read comfortably on a phone 🤷♂️
Appreciate it regardless.
9 -
Mind DM'ing me? you've got a private profile and I got a question for you.
2 -
The new wave is pointless conflict anyhow.
Funny how many active members don't play much if at all.
4 -
Glad to be considered iconic!
6 -
I respect your honesty. 😄 eyes strained, teeth gritting audibly, and sweat beading on my face as I hold in every negative thing I can utter about the duo
2 -
Main reason I stopped playing as much was because of internet issues, practicing what I preach and whatnot, but at this point I just manage burnout better than I did when I was in my "just one more game"/"This game wont be as bad as the last" phase. Not feeling obligation to play as much helps with frustration and defeatism, I've found. Wouldn't be surprised if others were similar after a few years.
3 -
@CountOfTheFog also shares beneficial interest posts which should be appreciated
10 -
... How has no one mentioned jesterkind yet? 😮
11 -
I used to be okay and my harmful behavior has spiked because of the stat page. It's made my experience so much worse to have numbers hovering over me.
3 -
Ah, fair point. @jesterkind definitely belongs in the Iconic category, if not legendary
7 -
If we were to add more to the list of "Gone but not forgotten" Id add @Lord_Tony and @Orion. Grandpas_Crack_Pipe is also someone else but it looks like their account is just gone since I cant @ them.
5 -
Yeah, definitely. And "noticeable" sounds just about right for me, too. XD
2 -
I concur
3 -
I would add @SoGo and @ImWinston because most of the time I see their comments + ImWinston is always starting a comments with his iconic bullet in text
7 -
Aven is iconic to me; they are friends with the "nice exploits" guy RIP in pepperoni
2 -
Aw, I appreciate that!
I figure I should nominate someone in turn, so I'd say @Rulebreaker is a pretty iconic and memorable member of our little community here. Def deserves a shoutout.
3 -
Yeah, you are right. Rulebreaker has definitely been around many threads, especially back when we discussed MMR.
I should also probably mention @Rokku_Rorru
They have been around for a while3 -
Ego is a big factor with this game, its community, and its feedback to the player. Outcome is possibly the worst determination of actual input into a match, yet it is the sole determination in most people's eyes. The only time it tends to change is out of excuses or forgiveness, when deep down we all know the game doesn't measure us as players appropriately. Thats why it tends to affect people who don't even worry about that kind of stuff, it starts to become a matter of "what actually is a good DBD player" when the gen jockey or turbo tunneler does better than we do when that is the only metric anyone cares about.
That isn't to say that anyone who notices this has an ego, but that we all do to some (un)reasonable degree, and our perceptions of matches get affected by it due to being graded and/or punished/rewarded differently than our performance.
3 -
I didn't feel terribly ego-driven before the stat page, nor did I care about outcomes much at all. I gave hatch a lot as killer, goofed and memed a lot as survivor, and then I had this number telling me who I was and it's slowly made me worse and worse, playing harder and harder, sucking the fun out. It's like I absolutely must see my overalls go up. I feel like I can't stop a session until I even out my stats. Lost 5 matches? Guess I'm playing 10 more. The smart thing to do would be to log out and forget it, but I know I won't. It really was a bad idea, especially with it being wrong, with people showing off high ERs attributed to abandoning every other match.
If it had more to it I'd be happier. I want wins and losses shown, not just kills and escapes. At least let me have a notch for being the only one who died. As it is, it does feel like the numbers emotionally punish good plays and reward bad ones.
3 -
That's sweet of you, thank you.
I agree with all of the list, it's why I contributed names thinking outside of the box lol <33 -
Oh I meant ego in the more literal sense, even though its kinda the same word. We usually associate the term with excessive egos, but its part of the psyche, and feedback in competition impacts it due to our comparative nature. Basically what I meant was that the game's feedback system contributes to how many people feel in terms of satisfaction on a subconscious level, kinda like the idea behind "satisfying defeats" and "empty victories." When we have a given match satisfaction value often disproportionately detached from the metric used to measure feedback (from in game ranking to post game chat,) and since people tend to prefer validation to challenge, things like the stat page or post game harassment end up becoming ways people rate their own performance using a skewed perspective.
Might be better for a different topic to go further on though, since we're getting into left field.

I think you deserve a spot. @Reinami, @RadiantHero, you, and others have all helped me view things in a different manner. They may or may not change my mind on everything but all of you give a great perspective or different lense to look through.
I haven't played in quite a long while and kind of lost the need to keep trying the next match in hopes it would be better than the last. But I still love reading the forums. Will always wish the best outcome for the game, whatever that outcome might be.

I really always enjoy Winston's presence so I agree. 😎
4 -
It's Missingno, here to duplicate our master balls!

We're all legendary in my book 🥹
