Cool DBD Ban System Idea.
if dbd had a ban system where you could ban killers before loading into a lobby, the results would be great.
each player could select 1 killer to ban, there would be a rolling device that circle around the selected killers, the same killer could be selected by 4 different people, if nobody select a killer to be banned then no killer would be banned, and if only 1 person selected a killer to be banned then the killer will be banned(since nobody ban anything else it would prioritize his ban instead), the case of banning the same killer multiple times is to counter another ban pick, lets say 3 people ban a blight, and 1 person bans vecna, there will be 75% chance that blight is banned, but if the ban fail then the 25% chance for vecna to be banned will be selected which means vecna gets to be banned instead of blight in such scenario, but the chances are that blight will be banned since the probability will be higher, with such system BHVR could collect data of which killers survivors dislike to verse the most, with that data BHVR could use to either rework the most banned killers or nerfing them(depend on their scaling with the win stats), and also rework the weaker or less used killers, this would allow people not to verse the same killers over and over, or having to deal with obnoxious killers like ghoul/blight etc.(big note since people dont seem to understand, the killer cannot be banned from their perspective, only on the survivor perspective, the killers can play like they always do, the survivors get in a lobby then the lobby is locked u dont leave it since u get penalty, u then can proceed with the ban of which killer u choose from, when u find a match ur banned killer is already selected by default).

As nice as never going up against Nurse, Blight, or Kaneki would be, all that would result in is, well, people who play those killers never getting a match ever again. Not to mention that it'd be yet another thing that SWF would be able to easily abuse to make their matches substantially easier, as they can coordinate who they want to ban where Solos can't

- Poor Blight, he would definitely get banned by me, I'm just exhausted by him... For a long time, he was a lot of fun to play against, but I encounter him so frequently that it literally feels like I'm playing Dead by Blight. That's okay, it's not fair to ban anyone, after all, the REAL DBD is also suffering.🤣

Ghoul players would never get a game

As others have stated, this suggestion would make several of the more powerful & popular killers never get matches. And that would not only be ridiculously unfair to those players, but also cause queue times to soar badly.

Having a ban list of killers, while it can sound nice, I can't see it actually working. For it to work as intended it'll hurt matchmaking times for everyone, already matchmaking time takes priority over MMR matchmaking for even matches so I can't see a ban list taking priority. For ban list to take priority they'd need an opt in for people on both sides which they don't even currently have for people who'd rather wait longer for more accurate MMR matchmaking, so again I don't think they'd do it. Then there's the killer side, why would they want a longer wait or not be able to play a killer in 1v4 where there are no restrictions in character/load out choices? Killers would then want something like a SWF ban, another thing to increase matchmaking and has same issues as the killer ban. You'll have 2 sides of ban lists that won't actually work because matchmaking time will take priority - so then you'll get players frustrated that they are still facing the things on their ban list and complaining it doesn't work for them.
I'd rather they have a selection in game where you can select and adjust over time your top 3 favorite/least favorite killers to face and play as. Can also do top 3 favorite/least favorite perks for both sides and maps. Devs can see what survivors/killers like and don't like tied to the stats of how often they use or face them and stats of when changes are made to selection without impacting the matchmaking.
The only adjustments to matchmaking I'd want is give me an opt in ability for a longer wait time so I can be matched with/against people at my skill level that includes the old emblem info and include loadouts in the matchmaking. That would also probably help with what killers feel bad/good to go against.

it would barely effect matchmaking time because u cannot ban multiple killers at once, also the most banned killers could simply get reworked so people stop banning them, simple.

Matchmaking is as loose as it is because actual high MMR players, which is a very small percentage of players, were waiting too long to be able to get into a match. Odds are the popular killers (like Blight) would be on the most ban lists. This would definitely be impactful to those killer players matchmaking times just as having a SWF ban list for killers would impact SWF matchmaking time.

No, its as loose as it is because winstreak streamers cried that they couldn't win 50+ matches in a row while reading chat and chewing doritos into the mic. The hours long Twins queue thing was fixed separately.
Notice its the same streamers that say we can't have anti-tunnel systems because the high mmr survivor teams are too hard to play against. (After they demanded mmr be reworked to guaranteed they rarely face them).

This is just such a bad idea from start to finish there's little point in wasting time trying to entertain it. It's just papering over the problem of Killer imbalance and the solo/SWF divide instead of actually trying to do something about it.

We get this suggestion on a semi-regular basis. I'll be blunt. It's a selfish idea, that would harm the game. We all have killers that we don't like, but that doesn't mean we have the right to ban people from playing them. Killer players shouldn't have to deal with either not being able to play, or having to endure obscene wait times, just because survivors don't like certain killers.
I have to wonder if you think that killer players who keep getting blocked from playing who they want to, are just going to play a different killer? Because my guess is that most people will just stop playing entirely. Which would be catastrophic for the game's health.

Just imagine how strong an SWF would be, if they just banned all the killers they could not beat.
While there are some killers i would REALLY like to ban my self, i think this would be unhealthy for the game. The idea have been here more than once and no, its not a good idea.

I think this could be an ok idea if implemented correctly, but I don't really agree with your way of going about it, though I do understand where you're coming from. Having the ability to ban the same killer every match would be terrible, both for survivors and for killers.
If this were to be implemented, you'd need to make it so the survivors can only ban one killer at a time. Then, you'd also need to be able to ban a specific killer only once every few matches. So you ban Nurse, let's say, then after that game you ban The Blight, then The Ghoul, then The Knight, and after that Knight game (three games after the Nurse ban), you can ban The Nurse again.
This ban should be a unanimous decision among all four survivors; otherwise, no ban goes through.
Another thing you'd need to take into account is fairness for the killer. If you can have an option to not go against specific killers, then killers would need to have the option of not going against specific perks (DH, DS, OTR, Deli, etc.). So, using the same system we just made for banning killers, you ban one survivor perk each match, with the ban lasting only one match, and the perk you banned requiring three games to be bannable again.
I also believe this should only be available in a different game mode altogether if this were to be added, whether that new game mode be simply competitive, or something unique, idk. But this 100% should not be in the base game.
I don't personally think banning killers or perks should be a feature in the game, but this is just my idea for how it should work if it were added. Maybe if there was a competitive gamemode ever implemented, then there could be some validity, but I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with how it works now. Going against certain killers sucks, sure, but it's not the end of the world. You'll most likely go against a completely different killer right after anyway.
Overall, it's a pretty bad idea, and I 100% do not agree with it, but I figured I'd entertain it nonetheless.

As long as matchmaking already breaks down if a single person dodges a lobby I don't want to make it have any more variables to juggle.

name five of the streamers with proof that they impacted this somehow

alright i got so many downvotes for suggesting something that can change the game for better(especially for survivors), this reaction proves that this forum is is filled up with over 95% biased killer mains.

did u even understand what i wrote? survivors getting in the lobby cannot leave it without penalty, the lobby is locked, then u ban the killers, then u run matchmaking, then u get killers, the killers cannot be banned in the killer perspective.

read it again i made a note.
