Would you love to have a monster killer?

It could be sea creatures, insects, etc. Anything that isn't humanoid.

Well, in most games with a choice of characters or races, if theres something that stands out as monsterous or bug like, its usualy my first choice. For example in starcraft - the Zerg. Or in Sword of the stars i usualy pick Hiver. Or in masters of Orion theres the klackon. (All spacr bugs lol).

Im also a big fan of H.P Lovecraft and the monsters in the Lovecraftian Mythos like Cthulhu (which we are getting a charm and banner of in the next 2v8). Hopefully it means they might make a Lovecraftian monster chapter someday.

Its a shame we didnt get to see the rest of the voting board to see what kinda monsters and beasts n mutants n stuff we couldve ended up with instead of the angel. But atleast the angel will be the first one with multiple legs which could give them practice on animating an insect like killer for the future.

Some are dead set on a Jaws chapter with a bunch of videos showing how it could work. But i have doubts the game is solid enough yet to add water to entire levels without causing problems.

And there may yet be some kind of dinosaur chapter as there are several licenses to choose from like Dino Crisis, Jurrassic Park, or Turok.

So yea id love to have a monster killer lol, the dredge was interesting at first but the playstyle just wasnt enjoyable for me.

Here's a post i made a while ago detailing how indoraptor would be a pretty sick killer. As for actual monsters though something insectoid/arachnid themed would be pretty cool.

Maybe something in the vein of The Fly like a scientist who fused himself with insect dna and turned into a monstrosity.

Plus I'm pretty sure demo counts as a monster killer and I LOVE playing demo

Insect like killer would be nice like some spider or bug like from Starship troopers or like mimic1997 movie, if devs will put good effort in desing like they did with harmless but balance his power more without big flaws than it would be good chapter for me.

A serpent of some sort. Could be even a giant larva smiliar to a graboid.

    I know same as scorpions,tics,mites.

Ijust meant it as idea not to be 100% biological accurate, I had some biology in school.

They have very limited options. They won't add an arachnid, because of the phobia that is customary to always respect in the modern western game development, the same goes for insects. They won't add anyone with tentacles, because it will trigger "problematic" jokes in the community, akin to the Pinhead's lines. Most of the creative kinds of monsters would be difficult to animate, and the size should be specific to fit on the maps, so nothing like "giant serpent" is ever going to arrive.

This is just me maybe but a giant Praying Mantis is pretty scary to me.

That's just one tentacle, and it already triggered different kinds of references that the devs probably want to avoid. I meant full tentacle monsters like those from Lovecraftian style.

Come to think of it, a slime monster could pass the BHVR censorship, Lovecraft had several "slime-like" creatures that would fit into the game, I guess that would work, even though they are not as interesting as others.

I'd love some non human survivors too, maybe results of horrific magic etc but their humanity persists.

Or just fantasy races. the D and D chapter flopped so hard.

The slimes were called a Shoggoth. But they were always massive too. Like atleast the size of the shack to the size of any "main" building. But i don't think there would be much jokes about tentacles as nemisis wouldve alredy made those jokes for people as he alredy really wants to "penetrate" Jill with his tentacle, see noone joked about it lol. I think wed be fine if anything a lovecraftian cthulhu monster does seem to be something several of the community would like to have in the game.

As for dnd i always wondered if the Beholder could make a good killer (since it varies in size) for a chapter 2 or even a Baldurs Gate 3 chapter with some of the main characters as legendary survivors like Shadowheart, Astarian, Lae'zel and Karlach with the primary character being like a customizable dnd character. Could scratch most of the non human survivor itches in one stroke.

Something eldritch or deep ocean inspired would be amazing.

I'm probably sounding like a broken record by now, but DBD needs a velociraptor on the killer roster.
