Played killer after a long hiatus and I don't know how killer mains do it
As a soloq survivor, I lose matches all the time. It's not unusual to have a situation where almost everybody is death hook at four gens. Yet it never feels like a miserable defeat to me. It doesn't feel PERSONAL. I never get the feeling like the killer is doing things on purpose to get under my skin.
But playing killer tonight after a long time of playing survivor really reminded me of what the OTHER side of the game feels like. First match, within minutes a survivor runs up to me, nods and points and tries to get me chase them. Which they do repeatedly all during the match. I got hit with head on, bags at every pallet. And I wasn't playing toxic, it was four gens and I hadn't really done anything yet.
I'm not saying this kind of stuff is toxic. I think it's kind of cocky to run up to the killer and nod and point and all that. I think the impression is that of really confident survivors who want to show off how adept they are at the game. Which is fine I guess. But encountering "super confident survivors" who nod, bag, point and follow you around all during the match gets really old when it pops up in the majority of your games. Literally right out of the gate. (With the obligatory exit gate bags at the end. Obviously)
I do want to get back into playing killer the way that I use to. Because I like the killers that I have. But man, I just don't know how killer mains handle do it. It is SO much pressure, along with everything else.

Well it is apsychological thing in this sitiuation I guess.
When you play Suvivor and do your best you can always (if you want or not) shift the blame to your team. The team can´t expect you to take 100% of the burden to win the game solo.
But if you play the Killer you are 100% of the team you shoulder the burden of failure.
I always like to compare DBD to a game of tag in your childhood when you are like me the "slower" child.
If you are in the team of chased people you do your best. Even if it is a small portion of what you are doing you will get catched and you know it because the chaser is much faster than you. But you gave it the best and maybe someone else will cover the time which you didn´t get.
On the other side…. if you are the "slower" child who is the chaser well… kids are gruesome. You try to catch a faster person and you will likely not get them. So you have to options. Running behind them and hope they mess up or… you go for scummy tactics like cutting them off, get them off guard or get them while they try to free the other Kids which you got.
In both cases it is never good to be the "slower" child but in one you will get picked up by friends while in the other case they will laught at you.

There are two kinds of bully squads like this: those who fall down in 4 slugs and DC within two minutes, because they keep mindlessly running around the killer and no one is doing gens, or they are actually efficient and push the gens in between the bullying. In the second case I usually give up and stop trying to kill them as soon as I realize what they are doing. Funnily enough, this often pisses them off even more, because they hoped for your reaction, but you punished them with some boring holding M1 simulator. It also makes the game much less stressful for the killer side, because even if you win against those teams, you will have to tear your kills out with tooth and nail, and it's just not worth the effort, not to mention you will often get a humiliating 2k anyway at best, sitting there drenching in sweat while they taunt you in the chat. If you just let them go and don't even try, you don't get stressed out about the loss, and 4outs are good for your MMR anyway.

I guess it depends how you approach it. I'm also in a similar situation at the moment. Recently back after a long gap of about 2 years. My survivor games have also been mostly dying constantly, but my killer games have been mixed, I'd say about 3/4 of my games I've got full control of around the 3 gen mark, a few 0ks when I've been outplayed but that's part of the game and I'm not all that bothered, takes skill to outplay a killer I just get on with the next game.
But my feelings about it are opposite. I usually play with 1 swf teammate, and we are both mediocre at best, and we're both dying in about 80% of our games, we've had full game sessions with no escapes. And it's throughly unenjoyable when that happens.
When i play killer I can usually gauge whether the survivors are on my skill level or not. If they are similar or higher I'll play to win, but if they are obviously much lower skill level (got matched with a david yesterday who had 2hours play time 😑) I'll take things back a gear. Slow things down a bit, and towards the end of the game maybe get friendly and let one or two go. I wish more killers did this, maybe not to the extent that I do. But 4ks at 4/5 gens are very boring and short games, so many killers will tunnel someone out as quickly as possible when it's clear they could spread hook states very easily and still secure the win

That’s why you just play the strong killers playing the weak killers pig, wraith, nemesis, demo, wesker just feels like crap when you can play blight, kaneki, spirit you actually feel like a killer it’s an insane difference.

My killer matches have been full of these people as well. Very often, they'll intentionally set off loud noise notifications to get me to come right to them and engage immediately. It's certainly not how I approach survivor, but I also think it's weird to take it personal. If you don't take a killer stomping you personal why do you take a survivor pointing and nodding personal? What's the difference? Are they supposed to act like they're scared of you?

The emotes don't bother me. There's no reason to let them bother you as you can't control the behaviour of others. If someone is an attention seeker then I ignore them, as the time they spend running around trying to get my attention is time they're not on gens.

This is why I play the way I do. I play for fun, I play to win sometimes, sometimes I meme. Which game are you getting? I don't know yet. But I do know a few things.
1. I will not go out of my way to tunnel you, unless you are running Boil Over (Lingering PTSD from the old RCPD library. Killer mains who remember will understand.) This does not mean that I will ignore you completely for some "Must hook every survivor first" rule.
2. I will not slug you, unless your friends are very obviously waiting in the wings for a save. I have respect for those able to pull off a flashy save, but you can't expect me to just LET you do it.
3. If I am not memeing, it should be obvious and if it is not or you are trying to force me, I will absolutely take advantage.
I will leave you with a few tips about going against a Pig. There are rules, and they must be followed. If she is growling but not finishing the ambush, she likely wants boops. If she is finishing the ambush, she might accept boops, she might not. Also remember that acceptance of boops is not always a guarantee of a 4-Survivor Escape. Lastly, and this is very important… If she is wearing a black leather jacket she have chosen violence and do not under any circumstances attempt to boop her!6 -
wish we had AMANDA actually in game 😔 nonetheless great thread.

I have a similar experience to the OP. I almost never feel like the killer is trying to mock me or insult me when I play Survivor — usually I feel like the killer doesn't even notice me as an individual and sees me as interchangeable with the other three survivors. But when I play Killer, I frequently feel like there's at least one survivor who wants to be rude for no reason and, whether I win or lose, that extra little bit of unpleasantness makes me want to go back to Survivor queue.

Well, we sort of do. There is the "Amanda's Rebirth" skin where she's not wearing the Pig mask, instead wearing her old broken Reverse Bear Trap and Jigsaw half-mask. But yea, I do know what you mean, a straight up human no mask face with Shawnee Smith's likeness would be FIRE. She's said she would love to do it, but that's up to Lionsgate as they actually own the character, they'd have to approve the skin first.

Wesker isnt weak, hes mid at worst.
This and cheaters (that bhvr obiously dont care about) are the reason i wont play killer, but bhvr cares as little about that as they do about getting a solid anticheat. They have enough players on both sides, and the game is a golden goose, why invest in anything when you can just get the payouts every 3 months.?

like u said u dont play killer, if u were playing killer often u wont have those problems, today killer is easier than ever before.

Their issue is less to do with how easy or hard it is, and more to do with the behaviour of their opponents
