The Amanda's Letter add-on for The Pig has been Kill Switched due to an issue with incorrect RBT count.

Does DBD have EBMM?
Curious to know if this is the case. I mean if you lose too many in a row you will get a freebie match with good teammates against a bad console killer to make you feel better. If so, then I dont want to play a game which doesnt respect my skill, time, or intelligence, which is what this game feels like right now.

Since late 2021, yes. There's factors to it though and also a rework to mmr is in development.
In practise it does not feel dynamic at all though. If you lose a lot on either side you are not suddenly gonna get an easier match. It often feels like though winning a small amount increases the difficulty greatly. So it's probably designed to not be abusable but it's also just wildy inaccurate anyway.0 -
Thanks for the ecplanation. Hopefully that MMR rework comes fast and actually fixes it. Never seen such unfair matches in what is supposed to be a casual game yet also has dc penalty.
In my experience on the killer side losing one trial after a winstreak feels like a guaranteed stomp the next.

Where did BHVR say that a rework to MMR was in development? I haven’t seen any sort of announcement that they are actively working on this, which is why I’ve long since given up hope that matchmaking and the scoring system for how “skill” is determined will ever be fixed.

it's been on the quality of life roadmaps

I just want to mention that SBMM (Skill Based Matchmaking) and EBMM (Engagement Based Matchmaking) are 2 different things
They both use the same system of using a hidden number to determine your skill and match people, its just how they match people thats different
SBMM tries to put people of equal skill against each other, while EBMM will purposely put you in a streak of lobbies that are either heavily in your favor or heavily against you. An example of a game that uses the latter is Marvel Rivals

Call of Duty has used EOMM (engagement optimized matchmaking) for a long time also.
Until the playerbase got fed up enough by it.0 -
Certainly feels like it

Lots of stuff has been on the roadmaps that never got worked on 😉

The roadmaps don’t mean anything. How many times have we been told that something is planned either to have it abandoned or just never even started?

It was mentioned again recently, after they dumped the anti-tunnel etc stuff. One of the devs said they're hoping the upcoming matchmaking overhaul alleviates alot of the issues people have anyway.

I'm sure they're working on something. Whether or not it won't be awful or scrapped is another matter.

You're giving too much credit to BHVR codemonkeys. They wouldn't be able to come up with such thing even if they tried to. The matchmaking simply is ultra loose by default.
