I still don't think new Vecna is overpowered
I just played my first match against him as survivor since his release (surprising ik, but I don't play too much surv even though I try to balance out both roles). I pretty much got steamrolled by him off rip, and I still think he's nowhere near as OP as people tend to make him out to be.
A good player is always going to do well on the killers they know they're good at, and I attribute part of his complete demolition of me and my lobby to the fact that the map was Midwich. Now, I already am not great at playing survivor, personally believing I'm pretty mediocre, especially on a map like Midwich. However, Vecna's kit is amazing on indoor maps - especially Hawkins and Lery's - due to the high number of narrow corridors and small rooms that give little mobility to the survivor in terms of space to dodge his rather wide Vine Attacks.
I can't say for sure how well I'd do against him on a different map e.g. Eyrie or Badham, but I can imagine on those open maps I'd be able to dodge his Vine Attacks a little better. I personally think a lot of the people complaining about him being overpowered have just had similar experiences on indoor maps against him that have led to very one-sided matches, which comes with the need to acknowledge that every killer is going to perform differently on the same map.
For example, if you were to play a game on The MacMillan Estate first against Blight, then Artist, then Pig, Each game is going to have a completely different result. The Blight would probably get a 4k/3k, The Artist would likely get a 3k/2k, and I'd imagine the pig would be lucky to get a single kill.
Now, if we were to change the map to something like Hawkins, it's likely The Pig would perform a lot better, while The Blight would struggle a lot more with all the tight corridors and obstacles blocking his rushes. The same thing goes for The First. He's probably S-tier on small, tight maps like Midwich and Hawkins, but then maybe high B-tier/mid A-tier on open maps.

I think Vecna is one of those killers that, in Otz or hens or fieldagentreapers hands, is an absolute beast to go up against. Just like Scott jund being upset that people were wanting to give up against him. But these guys are at the height of their particular skill set. Of course they're extremely good at him.
But a lot of people aren't and won't be.
Players that are use to killers like wraith, chucky, doctor, demo, Myers, ghostface, etc are not going to pick up Vecna and suddenly know how to anticipate survivor movement and nail shots from a gazillion miles away. His kit is more like Pinheads or Pyramidhead, maybe at a stretch like artist aiming bird shots. It's not a standard dash or m1 power.
Hell, since he came out I seldom even see the new Vecna. Maybe once every twenty or so matches?

Idk every single match i've had aginst him im been destoryed me and my buddy every time his vine attack needs a cool down or a limit use for x amount of time

I've gome back and forth on it since his release. I think he's mostly ok at this point. This type of power tends to bring out the skill gap in players, and that can be frustrating when you have a mixed skillset on the team.
It's the same problem as Nurse: half the playerbase is going to go down instantly every chase, and the other half will be able to dodge and manage distance.
A token or cooldown system would help players who are struggling to dodge the attack, but he's so streamlined to play as that I would hesitate to add it. He's unique and fun to play as. It's not like he's S tier either. I would leave him alone.

Spirit also wasn't considered a strong killer on release, but then people learned to play her. The new vecna is much stronger than that already, so you have to wait until his mains learn how to hit with his power and become unstoppable. He is more like Nurse 2 in this regard.

His M2 is way too spammy. That's the problem. Most killers are punished for using their powers and missing. Vecna can spam with no penality.

Yes and no. He has to activate the Worldbreaker first. It's 3 hits for the first injury. Missing outside of Worldbreaker means you're going a long time as a 110 killer without being able to injure. M1s are extremely suboptimal for this killer. Every M1 is 1 less token.
If he's consistently getting Worldbreaker every minute on the minute, people aren't dodging or respecting his TR.

What? He's beyond op. His power is way too long and way to easy and way too spammable, with the added bonus of that jam out session which takes up more time (he still has his power a ridiculously long amount of time anyway). His hitbox for his M2 is buggy as hell and registers hits when Survs are outside the circle and he can walk down Survs in tandem to having a power that hits through walls/pallets/windows/floors. Oh yea, and he also get's map traversal that can take a health state or activate his long power again for the checks notes 10th time during the match. He combines 10 Killers together for a nice easy low skilled blend to pander to the no skilled. I've played him, he's literally so easy that almost any combination of perks work and you don't even really need to think at all during the match.
All these new Killers are overpowered to sell DLC since the game balance is so horrible. Imagine if some of the old Killers were coming out in 2026, they'd be insanely different. Imagine Nemesis tentacle whips one Surv to infected and then get's an ultra special time that lasts a minute to where any tentacle hit can hurt a Surv, infected or not. Or how about Trickster, but where successful knife hit's on any Surv builds up stacks on other Survs around.
Maps are smaller than ever, brighter than ever, have awful pallet spawns now and horrible loops, while Killers are easier to use with more tools at their disposal.
Not only does Vecna need a cooldown for his vine attack, he honestly should have two different stances, one for M1's and one for vine attack, as well. So he would need to switch between both so he can't just rundown Survs who are flailing to dodge his attacks and he needs more skill to zone.

Yeah not to mention that 2 hits to start the clock must be on one survivor and without clock he is just harmless.
Every miss has huge slowdown in speed for him plus he is 110 so even its spammy its actualy hard to land like 0,6 seconds delay before veins hit when he clicks m2 and radius of that vein attack is 1,46 meters and survvior in 0,6 second has like 2,4 meters he can travel so if you arent running straight and you arent super predictiable he will have hard time to land hits and breaking los is very strong against him as it is against nurse.

A good few of the comments under my post share some pretty good points, so I'd like to just give my opinion on what everyone is saying.
His vine attack needs a cool-down or a limit use
This isn't a terrible suggestion. A slight increase in the cool-down would balance him out a little, but I think it might turn him into another Unknown situation. If you quit using the actual name of his M2, it stops being a "Vine Attack" and becomes 50/50s. You can't run in a straight line against him. Bad pathing/movement and slow reaction times/bad prediction is going to result in you losing pretty quickly. If you don't do anything to effectively dodge his attack, then it's just going to hit you. Same goes for playing against Nemesis, or Deathslinger, or Huntress, or Pyramidhead.
His M2 is too spammy
That is exactly why he is so easy to dodge. If the Vecna you're playing against is just spamming his attack, it'll be safe to assume he's trying to get it right under you, or right in front of you. If you know he fires it immediately after readying it, then you can just move out of the way when you see it on the floor. A good Vecna would already know to be patient with their attack and anticipate the survivor's movement, because spamming it has already been proven to be ineffective.
He also has map traversal that can damage survivors
Except it takes forever for that power to actual attack, so as long you're already moving, you can get out of his radius before it hits you. His Undergate Attack will miss 9/10 times.
A power that hits through walls/pallets/windows/floors
There are many examples of this. Vecna isn't the only one. If you're failing in these areas it's because you're not good enough on those tiles against that killer, not because Vecna is overpowered. Pyramid head can hit through most of those things. If you see him with his power ready while you're approaching a window/pallet, you switch tactics, because you know he's likely going to fire at the window. Same for Vecna. Get right up to the window, then change your pathing. As for hitting through floors, whilst it's possible for him, he can only 1. Hit upwards, and 2. Is very likely to miss unless for one reason or another, he can see you're aura.
The only criticism I've seen that I really even somewhat agree with is he should have two stances, similarly to Myers. I do think this is a good suggestion. He could have a stance for Basic Attacks where he's moving at 115%, and having a stance for his Vine Attacks, where he's moving at one 110%, with a 5 - 10 second cool down on swapping between stances.
Still don't think he's overpowered though. Just strong enough.

a killer that's strong on indoor levels has a good showing when the maps are boosting a bunch of indoor levels, go figure.

Yeah… That's exactly what I was saying. Why the sarcasm?

I'm just speaking to the wind. lots of people say vecna is super strong, and I'm just making an observation about it, because we are boosting a lot of indoor levels right now. almost to promote the new killer or something.

Ah, yeah. Your comment came off as really sarcastic because of the "go figure" at the end. Sorry for assuming.

my bad, I type like i talk irl but it doesn't always come through how I want because I cant convey my tone

Yeah he's really not. Hes decently well balanced for the current state of the game where gens can just fly no matter what you do. Any future patches he MIGHT need some tweaks. Personally not a big fan of only 3-4 of his addons being worth using mainly the roller skates and rabbit remains. You play without at least rabbit remains and it becomes hold W across the map with sprint burst simulator from undergate because you simply can't do anything else besides waste time.
Like maybe in a future patch where certain exhaustion perks are made balanced or completely gutted then we can consider vecna changes.Post edited by Brimp on0
