Pallets broken after recent 2x8 update. Insane amounts of pallets added to all maps
Up to 50% or more pallets now added to all maps giving survs a stupendously insane buff.

If anything this is a Bug and not a Buff. Not that hard to understand tbh, not every Clickbait-Title is true.
And it clearly does not affect all Maps. I played the whole evening and aside from one Wreckers Yard, the maps looked very normal.
10 -
Prenn Asylum especially. That map has a stupid amount of pallets. There are nearly 7 pallets just around shack. Its insane. Strong loops too that connect with it into Shack.

Did you watch the video? It tracks with my personal testing also.Let's not pretend this isn't a serious issue for killer play right now…
-5 -
as a person that play on both sides equally i dont mind this change, killers already have bloodlust and lots of tools to win games and get free hits, some content creators going on perkless streaks on killers so i dont see the problem at making maps more balanced, u could say more pallets = unbalanced, yea if u consider the lowest tier killers, which could just be buffed instead, they recently fixed nurse bug, and u can still play all those top tier killers. as long as those exist, maps should be balanced around them.
-25 -
This is a bug that surfaces about 3 times a year for some reason. There's something in the spaghetti code that just always spawns every possible pallet after a patch until they can hotfix it shortly after.
It's not intended, and it's not going to be permanent either.
9 -
Thankfully a lot of these maps you aren't gonna see often because every map is indoors now. Clearly this is a bug that the devs will fix.
1 -
My point is that you call it a Buff while it is very clearly a Bug.
18 -
So either I have to suffer in indoor map, or I am lucky to get outdoor, just to deal with 20+ pallets…
Yeah, luckily there is 2v8 now
2 -
Why am I not surprised that you don’t think it’s that big of a deal. And yes it clearly effect most of the maps, there’s a video that literally shows it. Even if it’s a bug it is not a good reason to try to minimise the problem. I bet you wouldn’t shut down the problem so quickly if this was about ghoul right?

I think you are wasting your breath here… sadly…
Many players don´t get the difference. Do you remember when Springtrap was invisible after leaving his door and so many players cried out that BHVR overbuffed him and made him unfair to play against? Yeah… people won´t get such things and are so deep in their bubble that they think it is a intended buff to let the other side suffer.
12 -
How do you know it's a bug and not an intended balance feature? It's only a bug if it's not intended, and we can't know what is intended by the devs unless we somehow look into their heads. Thinking rationally, this pallet change is perfectly coherent with all of their other balance changes, like what they called "anti-tunnel and anti-slug mechanics". I would even argue these +50% pallets are milder than what they intended to push as an "anti-tunnel", so it could by just a compensation for the cancelled anti-tunnel. Once again, in perfect accordance to the devs' view of the game, so the bug case is much less likely.
-12 -
It was not announced.
It did only come with a Bugfix Patch and when 2v8 was enabled, which makes it likely that somehow 2v8 Pallet Counts make it to 1v4.
It does not apply to every map, as I have written, I did not notice anything except for maybe one map which had too many Pallets when playing yesterday. Granted, most examples come from Crotus Prenn and I did not play on that yesterday.
If there would have been an actual change, it would be more consistent and not only to a single or very few realms.
9 -
Yeah, yeah. This evil Aven. So evil and biased that you had to create another account because your previous one got banned.
Look, it is a bug and it does not even apply to all maps. If it would do, we would have seen way more people notice it. OP only noticed it because of a Clickbait title of a Content Creator for example.
And yes, since it is a Bug, it should be fixed. Did I ever say anything else? If you see me saying that Bugs should not be fixed, please show me. Otherwise your post is just unreasonable nonsense, but this cannot be true, can it? Nobody would do that on the DBD-Forums, especially not newly created accounts which are totally not from someone who got banned before.
15 -
so we should just gimp most of the killer roster bc bhvr cannot be bothered to alter 3 killers?
4 -
I think you are mistaking me for someone else because this is my first account I made but ok, if there was somebody else that was named like this that got banned I had no idea. Also I never said anything about you saying bugs should not be fixed why are you even trying to say that. I clearly said that you were trying to minimise it because “it only affects a few map” when it clearly isn’t the case.

So if it fits the usual pattern it will be reverted within days after a few streamers make videos crying about it and we'll end up with fewer pallets on maps than before.
7 -
it’s a bug that will get fixed soon.
“Let's not pretend this isn't a serious issue for killer play right now”
Everything is a serious issue for killer apparently
4 -
“Thinking rationally, this pallet change is perfectly coherent with all of their other balance changes, like what they called "anti-tunnel and anti-slug mechanics". ”
Bhvr listens to killer content creators and makes changes to appease them. The anti slug and tunnel updates?
yeah stuff like this is what came out of that and bhvr never went through with those changes. Remember the first pallet density? Killer content creators did the same thing and that got changed and bhvr even went a step further to make the maps weaker too. There was 0 “dbd is dead” vids when that happened only Scott called those changes out
7 -
😂😂true
4 -
Yeah thank god it last 14 days since it droped and I hope they extend 2v8 till they reduce pick chance of indoors to normal number as all maps and fix this issue with pallets spawning 100-150% more on outdoors maps.
-2 -
Even if its not applying to all maps its very unbalanced just situation you pick m1 killer like pig, ghostface, legion and get outdoor map with this bug than your chances for win or having normal game without turbo tunneling are super low because there is no way m1 killers can get solid survivors in looping on time on maps that have 14-25 pallets instread of 11-14 not to mention in many cases there is just 3 meters distance between two pallets like how the hell can even some killer get hit there without range attack not a chance.
-3 -
Bhvr listens to killer content creators and makes changes to appease them
Is that why we have an easy abandon feature for survivors, activating the moment they hit the ground, but still no way out for the killer even when the game is obviously lost, so that killers still have to endure 2 minutes of wasted time or swallow the humiliation? Is that what the "killer content creators" asked for too? Is that why SWF haven't been addressed for 10 years, even though it has been talked about through all this time? Because some "killer content creators" specifically asked BHVR not to touch SWF for some reason, even though the rest of killer players find it the main source of the game problems? Oh those evil "killer content creators" then, why are they so contradictory to the rest of the killer player base?
-6 -
Why do you try to make a balance discussion out of a Bug?
8 -
Because this bug makes bigger majority of the killers unplayable on like half of the maps so this bug is balance issue, it created it and even it is bug the outcomes are same as pallet density update doesnt matter if its intentional here or not the core problem is the same.
-5 -
If we balance around the top killers why are we not also balancing around the top survivors?
-6 -
Do not play any low to mid tier killers you will lose
1 -
You’re right that it won’t be permanent, but BHVR never seems to be in a hurry to fix any bugs, even significant ones like this. It wouldn’t be a big deal if BHVR could fix these issues immediately rather than the multiple weeks or longer that it often takes.
0 -
Which top tier survivor can I buy and get easy wins like Ghoul? Because talking about individual player skill is not remotely the same as talking about built-in character abilities.
7 -
“Is that why we have an easy abandon feature for survivors, activating the moment they hit the ground”
Blame that on your buddies for the ego trips. I remember bleedouts being the reason why that was implemented.
“but still no way out for the killer even when the game is obviously lost, so that killers still have to endure 2 minutes of wasted time or swallow the humiliation?”
Hit them out and the game ends. There’s the solution
“Is that what the "killer content creators" asked for too? Is that why SWF haven't been addressed for 10 years, even though it has been talked about through all this time?“They have been buffing past killers to deal with that and releasing new ones that are strong. Could they buff more? Sure I guess, but most killers can deal with them already. This isn’t 2019 anymore.
Plus it’s a business if they nerf swf there goes bhvrs money.
“Oh those evil "killer content creators" then, why are they so contradictory to the rest of the killer player base?“
Never said they were evil. But they are a bunch of whiners
-4 -
they need to stick to their killer oppressed narrative
4 -
Not that I feel all too strongly about it, but I would suggest a measure of moderation. 'Blame that on your buddies' goes both ways, and doesn't necessarily put us anywhere useful or productive. A killer could argue 'Your buddies ego tripping and teabagging is why I start slugging and tunnelling.' And then the survivor group will have another, and the Killer, and so on and so on until the heat death of the universe.
I would say I am somewhat alarmed by your dismissal of the BM'ing of gate camp survivors. I know it isn't long, but BM is BM. 'Hit them to make them stop and end the lost game' isn't an entirely fair rebuttal, as you're inherently putting the onus of dealing with the BM on the killer which is (when inversed) exactly why the abandon feature was implemented. That is, so survivors would not have to burden the onus of a BM'ing killer.
Not saying I have any answers, just an observation. I see no reason why Killers shouldn't have abandon features with niche conditions and full BP earnings. Heck, let's give Survivors abandon rights the moment 6 hooks are achieved, and give Killer abandon rights the moment 3 gens are done. That way both parties can leave at 60% game completion and call it done.0 -
Hey folks! We looked into this today and there were no changes made to pallet density with this update.
If any of you are personally seeing more pallets in your matches, then we definitely want to look into that as a bug. Most importantly, we'd need your game logs and - if possible - video footage to investigate. SO! If you're seeing more pallets than normal, please submit a report to BetaHub, here:
Thanks a ton for your help!
16 -
This is not meant as a direct criticism but rather a question about how the devs do QA testing. Can the devs not play matches on public servers to check this for themselves? If people on the forum and content creators are seeing maps with way too many pallets, surely the devs can go into public matches to check for themselves, right? I’m just confused why the onus is on the players to submit game logs and video evidence when it seems like the devs could very quickly and easily check themselves in public matches.
-8 -
You have to realize that thousands of players go into matches and then see Bugs which the Devs overlooked. Because there are simply not thousands of Devs to test things.
Considering that only a few select maps spawn too many Pallets, I think it is reasonable that it can slip through. I am also criticizing the Devs if they fail to see things which the community immediatly sees, but even with those extra Pallets it took a full 24 hours before the first reports came in. And this, again, with thousands of games played.
6 -
The data that BHVR has released on the matter shows that ghoul isn't even in the top 5 of killers. And the unofficial data shows him not even being in the top 10.
-5 -
I will speak from my personal experience here, I've played many matches the last few days, and not found anything remotely wrong with the pallets (only Midwich spawns) and same on many streams I watch. It's not about Devs being on Live, it's just that none of us have experienced this at all, which is why we've asked for logs if you do experience it in your game.
18 -
This is very interesting - thanks! Very weird that some people are seeing this regularly, and some people are seeing it rarely or not at all.
0 -
It's odd that this effect can be seemingly replicated by the people who are experiencing it with consistency whilst other players are simply not seeing it at all.
I had a few matches with the Midwich bug, and a couple days ago I could've sworn my Bubba matches had like upwards of 5 more pallets than there should be, but after playing a few matches today I can't say I've seen anything outside the realm of normalcy.
It's strange.
1 -
They seem the same as usual to me too. I use Zanshin alot on Freddy and the spawns aren't any different.
Everyone seems to be using Scott Jund's video as proof but apparently can't supply their own evidence.
9 -
I mean, you could start by being more specific no? They have been balancing around the top survivors, we literally just had syringes and styptics reworked, which those all stacked in a 4 man were really oppressive.
Top tier killers on the other hand and their addons barely get touched ever, most reworks are a slap on the wrist.
There is no reason we can't do both.12 -
The only map I've noticed more pallets on is crotus prenn here is a example from a public match I had. this is only pallets not windows
This pic shows 6 chainable pallets, not including the shack pallet in the far back, there is a gym pallet right behind me
This one also has six pallets nearby to each other/ chainable, gym pallet offscreen behind camera and to the left, you could probably chain pallets across the whole map.
screenshot not captured but there was also a nasty pallet spawn at the greenhouse, greenhouse pallet, one right in front of it then also the long one that spawns inside.2 -
to me it looks like a well done map if u versing a blight, in fact, blight will still get a down even with those pallets/ same with nurse, also u can run bloodfavor builds on killers to counter pallets.
-2 -
Sadly it was a demopupper and he gave up, if only they could spawn pallets based on the killer. eg blight gets a lot where as weaker killers get less.
3 -
Lemme hop in here for Mandy :) This is a known bug that's been resolved across most indoor maps. The team's still investigating and keeping an eye on it, though, as Midwich still seems to be encountering some spawn issues.
13 -
Sounds like over exaggeration as usual.
0 -
How do we get game logs?
0 -
Guys, it feels like Scott is playing on a separate client. I just tested all the maps he mentioned in the video five times and didn't find any of them with more than 20 pallets, or very close spawn pallets. The exception is shelter woods; I've been playing since 2019 and I don't remember a building appearing near the tree, but the pallet density on the map was fine.
10 -
Put it here simple, there are more bugs than devs in the game.
