Refusing to hook for the entire game shouldn't be a strategy
Like I get it, killers can slug to create pressure - but to make it your entire strategy of "i'm just not going to hook anyone the entire game and grind the team down" feels really stupid and not in the spirit of the game. Like why even have hooks if this strategy is going to be seemingly more effective? You see it with streamers especially going on these prolonged winstreaks doing the same nonsense where they refuse to hook, slug the entire game, grind down team after team this way. And the developer seems to either think this is great for the game (it's not), or to simply not care about the survivor experience.

You can abandon for free after this getting downed and healed again after a while.
It may be impossible to outlaw slugging so just quit if it happens too much.

I overall don't think it's an issue since abandon feature.
If you see it somehow that much, then just use perk against it…

good question. what does a non-death hook really do for you as a killer in modern DbD without perks?

- 1.) You need a specialized build to play for hooks against survivors who aren't clueless.
- 2.) If you don't do a lot of knockdown at this point, you're asking for fast gens and you won't have any time to eat through resources worth a damn.
- 3.) Hook-activated endurance features are game-breaking against M1 killers.
- 4.) The spirit of DbD is about being a random horror movie generator, not a comfy ultra forgiving pseudo-horror charade.
If you want killers to play for hooks, then hooking needs to become the best thing the killer can possibly do.

tbh there are so many things you can use to counter this, Im presuming you dont play alot of killer but picking up and hooking someone takes time and sometimes you just dont have the time to hook so its better you snowball, usually later in the game tho. Slugging when done wrong can give you guys a free reset and the killer loses all the pressure they made. bring just one anti slug perk like unbrakele conviction or the other 10 you can use, and punish the killer for sluggin if he messes up and you can pick each other up. last thing player killer, the more you understand the killers side of the game the easier it is for you to read them. overall dont cry about slugging when you can counter it with one perk

Bro, it’s not that easy to just “use one of the may perks”. Like perks will only get you so far and most perks that let you get up either work only once or have a down side to them. For example, unbreakable has 1 use, conviction you need to heal someone fully to get it, meaning if you don’t get to heal anyone it’s useless, no mither sure you can get up indefinitely until you bleed out but you are injured all game. Like Boone wants to have to run a build that solely has those kinds of perks. It’s boring and annoying and honestly if you have to tunnel or camp or slug at all you’re just bad I’ve played with killers who didn’t need to do any of that to get a 4k using a semi good killer. Killers excuse for tunneling and camping and slugging is always the same from killer to killer. Like if you aren’t good enough to put enough pressure on the team during the match just say that.

A lot of killers slug because then they are saved from:
→ Decisive strikes
→ Dead Hards
→ Off the record
→ Bodyblocks with endurance
→ save time from going to the hook
It makes sense to me. I'm not saying it's anything fun, but waiting as killer 10mins during 2v8 event to get genrushed in 2mins is also not fun. I tunneled and slugged two games recently and survivors felt extremely oppressed. I asked them if they think that it was because I'm toxic slugger or tunneler or if that was because they switched last second to full flashlights with background player and 3 BNP the other game. You simply can't expect killers to keep up the chill wave if you try to make their time playing feel irrelevant.

I get what you are saying, but it dose not change anything. if your team gets slugged early game, thats really on you if 4 of you guys fumbled the bag that badly, during the game you should get heals in and the slugging rlly only happens during later in the game when the killer needs extra time or presure, so at that point if the killer leaves you the slug more you can get up and reset easily. your acting like the condtions of the perks make if diffcult to use when it rlly isnt. all of them have decent ways to activate and i think you can lose them again when the gates power, if you get 4k slugged twice after using a 2nd chance perk, thats really your own fault ngl.
