Gen Regression Kick Limit Needs to be looked at again.
8 Kicks only is just SO limiting. Especially if you want to use certain perk combos.

I think the problem lies with certain perks. You can make it like certain perks dont add up to the regression limit.

Yup. Surge/Eruption Combo = No gen kicks within 3 minutes of the match.

It's 8 kicks per gen. If you ever manage to reach that on even a single one, you're doing something wrong.

When using certain combos it happens in a matter of a minute or 2. That doesn't mean something is wrong, if anything there is something wrong with the flawed system.

Maybe try something else than four slowdowns for a change.
Besides, Ruin and Oppression both will not add to the damage action limit (the latter only does so on the gen you actively kick).4 -
Sure. If we then can also reduce the Regression on a single Kick again back to 2,5% (from the 5% it is now) and let Survivors stop a regressing Gen instantly instead of having to work on it for 5 seconds, I am all for it.
If you want to remove the reasonable and needed Nerf, you dont need the (better) Buffs you received back then.

Of course. If someone reaches 8 Regression Events on a single Gen, this is something which is very unusual. In regular gameplay it should not happen.
Bro is probably hard-camping a single Gen instead of actually applying pressure.

if this were to happen then its also time for an increase in base regression as 0.25 per second is just…. not worth the time kicking a gen

I've never hit the limit since it was implemented. Came close on one gen one time, and that's it. If you're consistently hitting it, and it's to your apparent detriment, then perhaps you need to change something. Your build or whatever particular way you're playing. I could be wrong but I feel like you've made this exact post before awhile ago? If so, you still haven't changed anything? If you're waiting for the game to change to suit you then you might be waiting awhile...

With certain perk combos i manage to reach the limit on at least 1 gen basically every game. Survs will try to finish a gen that was almost finished no matter what.
The changes for gen regression and kicking are doing nothing. In fact, gens are flying faster than ever before in the 6 years i play this game.-3 -

Reverted? No. In not saying that at all. I never said I want the Gen Kicking Limit to go away. It just needs to be looked at.

No, I’ve never made a post about Gen Limits before. I don’t come across it often myself but when I do it’s annoying especially in a close game where I am battling it out with survivors over a Gen they keep coming back to (which I get).
I love surge and eruption together for the big boom, but that’s 3 out of 8 limits in one sweep. 🧹-3 -

Or you learn to actually apply pressure instead of just never leaving your 3-Gen.

The only real issue is Eruption, not the limit itself. Eight regression events per generator is a ton, there's no reasonable explanation for hitting that consistently unless you're specifically running Eruption - and even then you kinda have to be running Eruption and something else, you can run Eruption carefully on its own without issue.
The reason the issue is Eruption is because Eruption doesn't get eight, it gets four, and that is a lot lower. I have come to think the perk really needs a full on rework, since it's only a decent/okay perk now and isn't really that much of a staple.
I've pitched before that it could be as simple as making it so Eruption being off cooldown removes the instant regression from a kick entirely, and the delayed explosion is raised to accommodate. That way it's the same overall percentage, skewed towards higher burst but less sustain, and the perk enables fun gen-kick builds instead of being a detriment to them.There are definitely other ways of fixing it, though.
As an aside, this all also applies to Undone because that uses two regression events at once, but nobody runs that because it's bad. It needs a rework too but for completely different reasons lol.

The only time I've ever really had it limit me is when I use a perk like Surge

I've hit that 8 limit exactly once. And only come close with multiple floor maps and particular perks, almost like I was trying to hit that limit but wasn't. So I tend to agree that it's more those individual perks rather than the limit system itself.

20 or 50 would be pointless hence your sarcasm. It’s just my opinion, but with certain perks, 8 is too limiting.

That’s mostly what the issue is then. Perks. I love surge and eruption. On multi floors though..yeah. For sure.

It's just obvious to me they wanted to make sure we cannot ever return to the 3-gen hold forever method, or that a single gen can be contested indefinitely either. The cost to stamping it out would be the killer defending a gen they feel compelled to.
Some of all that was surv's loathing for Skull Merchant and Knight (and maybe Doc) doing this back then, but without the synergy of certain perks it wasn't viable.
