Thoughts on Forced Penance?

image.png

It's a perk I never see run at all. I've been using it the past couple of games on Krasue and I've realized many body block against her, and it gave me so much value, its effect is quite mean, 80 seconds of no healing after body blocking/ taking a protection hit is quite good and it gets the job done.

My question is why do not so many people use it because I think it's great.

I think it's a perfectly balanced perk like Mad Grit.

Can work quite nicely when paired with Mad Grit and/or Agitation against a bold altruistic team or sabo squad

I think it should be changed into applying broken to the first person you hit, and then after the 80 seconds is up, you can apply it to the next person you hit, essentially ensuring an injure for a long time with no protection hit requirement

It's mainly because so few people actually bodyblock. (Outside of Krasue)

Yh come to think of it I haven't played against a bodyblock/sabo squad in ages. I miss people playing like that. They were so easy to counterplay. And satisfying to stomp.

feels bad when you're new or unprepared, but yeah I wish I saw more of them. I know I sound like paranoid and delusional but Finesse haunts my lobbies. I see 3x of that perk paired with exhaustion all the time, and all they can do is hold checkspots, never commit to anything and hold w until the end of time. it's so insanely boring

I actually miss 150% WGLF because I enjoyed having survivors run up in my face to say hello. even though they were invincible.

It has potential but the duration and effect just don't add up for me. If I was going to run a perk to handle things like body blockers or altruism swarmers, I'd rather run Starstruck for the instant downs. Broken doesn't mean much against a well coordinated team even if it's for 80 seconds. It's nice, but there are just options out there that better suit my personal taste.

When I want to go anti-swarm I just pack up Agitation, Starstruck, and from there maybe a Mad Grit, Iron Grasp, etc. Broken will never compete with exposed, at least in my personal preferences.

Its worth like on twins and krasue because people bodyblock a lot against them but than its just only good against altruistic bodyblockers which isnt common thing or hard to get so it will be mostly waste of perk.

Only redeeming quality is that it works with killer powers I believe if they remove that it will be dead perk and if they buffed it even from 8 seconds to 100-120 it wont be still used a lot.
