Seriously, I'm tired of 2v8 extensions...
Why do you have to extend it? 2 weeks is enough for everyone to enjoy the mode. I want to play 1v4 with normal queue again. So I guess this is it... Another week without me playing the game.

Don't tell me that they extended it
11 -
They do it every time. 2 weeks pass by, the players slowly open the door, peep through gap... "Is it over yet?" Nope..."will come back next week"...slowly closes the door.
9 -
I was so finally happy that I'll have my normal queues as killer in 1v4
9 -
Just stop, stop, this is not funny anymore, or at least tell us the real date when it is ending, I just want to play killer on 1v4 but I cannot because queue times are horrible because of this game mode.
9 -
BHVR end 2v8 when it's scheduled to challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
2 -
Yes, they extended it for another entire week.

2v8 has been extended till March 3rd

At this point why not just make it last 3 weeks each time it comes back

At this point just call it Oni and Friend VS 8.

Because shockingly there are players that want more than 2 weeks to play the mode, the game does not revolve around you. Besides you'll get all the 1v4 you want when the new chapter releases.
-6 -
If BHVR is going to keep extending 2v8 to 3 weeks, they should just release it 3 weeks instead.
11 -
while i have grown to strongly dislike the mode myself, even less fun on the killer end than 1v4 if I'm being honest, extending it every time gets annoying for a lot of players who want to play standard 1v4 without it feeling like more of a sweat fest than it already is. for once I wish they'd end it when it's scheduled to end
4 -
It's been extended it to 4 weeks before as well, clearly they have their reasons. Regardless, the demand is there.
2 -
The demand must be for Killer's bc those 30 min queues. I'm just bored with the mode; they're bringing it back too often and for too long that you just get burned out. Events in most games are limited-time modes, not ones that can last a month and keep coming back every few weeks.

I want 2v8 to go away so it can come back sooner with more killers
just chucky isn't enough to warrant a whole return
2 -
Maybe remove all the Killers from this mode that make people go, "Gee what Killer would make this 10x easier?".. Seeing Oni in EVERY SINGLE MATCH is not what I would call diversity.. To the people that design this stuff.. Do better.

- Guys, I'm bored of 2Vs8 too, but if Devs have extended it, it means that MANY people love playing this mode instead... the world is made up of people with "different tastes".

Oni and escapist make this mode so obnoxious.
I wanna be cool and be that one person playing PH, but he's such a useless joke because you can't compete with "i win" buttons. I've crashed out hard enough at sprint burst(but I refuse to play oni) that I'm begging for Ghoul if we can't have Legion.
give us something, and nerf the heck out of Oni please
1 -
Completely agree with Escapist btw! I'd much rather have Ghoul than Oni or Legion. He has to stop for so long to do that scream when he bites someone anyway. He'd be oppressive but he can't run around and whack everyone with a one hit down like Oni…
2 -
makes me wonder on the 2v8 survey on what people picked if they wanted it permanent or not. I see the player count on steam alone the number of players doubled when the mode came out, way more than Chaos Shuffle.
4 -
I don't even like 2v8, honestly… Even with the play while you wait feature. Whenever I play survivor, no one is ever on generators. Like… Ever. And then when I do get into a killer game, my teammate usually does just terribly. I can't stand this game mode, honestly.
1 -
Yeah most Survivors that play this game are very low skill level when it comes to gaming in general, so that's where that stems from.
-1 -
I don't think it's that, honestly. I think it's just that when these game modes come back, players will return, and it'll also attract a lot of new players with people wanting to play these game modes with their friends. It kinda sucks, but at the end of the day it's nice that it maybe introduces a few new people to the game, even if I myself won't be playing along with them lol.
3 -
Kyt has the right of it, I think. It's nice if it drags in new folk, even if it's not for me. Not every event needs to be fun for me to be good for everyone. Let them have their fun. I resent the queues, but me waiting a few more minutes isn't awful so long as someone is having fun.
2 -
I don't understand what you're talking about. If you don't like 2v8, just play 1v4. There are different game modes. The waiting time to start the match doesn't change, and the quality of the opponents doesn't change. If anything changes, then you're either special, or there are fewer people playing Dead by Daylight in your area than in my area. Note: Not everyone in the world plays Dead by Daylight.
-2 -
Just have the mode last this long in the first place and be done with these silly last-minute extensions. If you know you're going to extend it from day 1, then just incorporate the extension into the mode's base length instead of sidelining all of us who are looking forward to playing 1v4 again.
1 -
Okay then just have the mode last 3 weeks at base instead of constantly shifting the end date at the last minute. It's literally more convenient for everyone if they just give us an accurate date.
1 -
I'm tired of playing Nemi and having my zombies spawn in an empty tile between a gen and rubble, trapping them inside. It's happening on a few of the maps and it's annoying, especially since they all can spawn on top of each other in there. Just had all four of my zombie's, on the gas haven 2v8 edition, spawn one of those empty tiles and they kept spawning there all game lol
3 -
Nah, 2v8 is better than 1v4 and there's a laundry list of reasons why that is. Really they should make 2v8 permanent and clearly they extended 2v8 because that's what people want, the games gotten a boost in players because of it.
0 -
both those things are blatantly untrue.
Not only are queue times for Killer much longer as there's less people playing the 1v4 during the event period. But you're more likely to run into higher skill opponents due to the lower number of players in regular queue, turning the matches much much more sweaty.
3 -
Unfortunately, players with low skills may think so.
-4 -
Your departure from civility to replace discussion with an insult may charm you, but it doesn't counter-act the statement. I, too, have seen increased queue times and a wildly less stable MMR during 2v8. The same phenomenon was reported last year and before that, almost every time 2v8 is introduced. It's still being referenced in the other 2v8 thread, and has been cited a great many times.
Insulting people is neither necessary, nor conducive to a discussion. Skill level has nothing to do with queue times and MMR.5 -
it's also just how DBD's already notorious matchmaker works. the less players there are in the current moment the matchmaker will put you in whatever lobby it can find, which unfortunately does mean you'll likely get matched against higher skill survivors and swfs since they usually prefer 1v4 themselves
0 -
it’s a cool name lol
2 -
If it's taken as an insult, that's fine. I think it's more disgusting to want to fight a weaker opponent when it's convenient for you.
0 -
It's only an insult insofar as you dismissed his opinion by inferring him as lower skill. But I do agree people wanting inherently weaker opponents are indeed disgusting. I'd rather someone match out to my rank, but to his point as well I am a bit sick of being paired up with full P100 lobbies of twitchers spamming head-on flashbang through my ears while they teabag their way out the gate to the beat of West Side Story.
I don't want weaker enemies myself, I want equal skill, but I also want to face less pre-mades. I'm not a streamer or a killer-god over here, and the communication (used well) can make or break balancing rather severely.0 -
They need to make it permanent
Yes in the very short term ques wont be as good, but they will start to get shorter as the FOMO on 2v8 is gone as its always there.
I prefer 1v4 but the casuals love 2v8.-1 -
I would just want them to give the ACTUAL date the first time around. At this point why don't we just just give a heads up for an extension on the day 2v8 drops? Because an extension ALWAYS happens and honestly 2v8 is getting super old. The first two iterations were easily the best but then they just kept dropping in quality in favor of just giving killers buffs instead of unique interactions like Billy's saw exposing survivors he runs by.
2 -
I actually prefer 2v8 to 1v4. So I’m good with it
1 -
I'm not trying to say that. I just would rather have a more even match up even if I lose than deal with a sweat fest that becomes even more frequent in normal queue during 2v8
1 -
Currently we use the MMR system. It's more important to teach players that they can learn the game even if they lose.
2 -
A lot rests on the survey response, it gives us a strong idea of whether to extend or not…the extension is not always a given.
4 -
certainly hasn't seemed that way. pretty sure it's been extended every single time and a lot of people are sick of it
0 -
I don't mind 2v8 being around, but I understand the frustration from people who'd rather play 1v4, who are stuck with longer queues due to more players preferring 2v8 over regular 1v4
Also, when talking about 2v8. Would it be possible to have that modifier becoming available in custom games? I know that is a feature that many people would want, myself included.4 -
right, unfortunately DBD's mmr system is not only borked even in normal play, 2v8 tends to make it even worse. that's what I've been trying to say
2 -
my only gripe is that the longer 2v8 stays, that means it takes longer to get new Killers and balance changes in the mode. its a weird conundrum to be in because I generally get excited for 2v8
-1 -
I don't think 2v8 even has MMR active, since it can wildly vary from game to game
1 -
not in the 2v8 mode, it's nonexistent there. But in 1v4 it is
0 -
not on the survey responses they are not, and that's open for everyone to take…seems like the majority are all for it.
