Pop goes the weasel now total progress again (from current)
Why?

Cause current progress was pretty beans it only really gave value when a gen was a 90% progress now it gives consistent value.

That's actually really good for killers. Manual og pain res

Desperately needed its was terrible before.

I mean yeah total definitely makes it a lot easier and versatile to use but i just don't understand the intention behind this change, considering its still one of the most used killer perks.2 -
Cause the constant complaint was gen speed was to fast

I don't understand this too since they wanted to change meta back then, but I'm not complaining 😁

Consistency - new version gives more value on kicks below 75% gen progress. Old version forces killers to seek out gens that are almost completed if they want to get max value. New version gives basically the same amount of value no matter what level of progress the gen has. You won't have to feel as bad about using Pop on a gen that's about 30-40%

I'm just echoing what's already been said, but it was honestly pretty lackluster before because current progress barely deducted anything. There's a reason most top players were playing Eruption or even COB over Pop, it's too inconsistent and doesn't provide much value if the gen's below 80% progress.
This buff is actually massive as Pop is now (essentially) back to its original value and now provides the same exact value as Pain Res so this will definitely shake up the meta, Eruption may not be the #1 kick perk anymore, or you may see it used with Pop way more often because honestly, Pain Res may not be worth using anymore. Ideally the way to go if you have the room would be Pain Res, Pop, and Eruption.
I'm not sure if this is actually a good change because on one hand, I think Pop is a very well designed perk and deserved to be better since 20% of current wasn't cutting it, but on the other hand, I do worry this will lead to power creep with more perks that are perfectly balanced receiving more buffs to seem as appealing as Pop, not to mention how obnoxious this perk will be on high tier high mobility killers like Blight, Kaneki, or Dracula. The above build I mentioned is gonna be very popular on them.

Variable effectiveness makes it harder to balance.
Like how being able to regress generators makes it harder to balance Killer given the repair to stop regression counterplay entails a bunch of macro-gameplay elements such as positioning, downed players, map knowledge, and communication, all couple together to impact how much regression kicking a generator actually does.

Because it needed it for lower tiers?
-3 -
lower tier perks? Handled by the duration.
lower tier killers? Maybe, but, higher tier killers like ghoul are some of the best users because they can kick a gen and chase a survivor afterwards which is something lower tier killers can't afford.4 -
Not bad probably. But is this the most changed perk ever? Feel like they nerf and buff it again and again.
1 -
So a perk shouldn't be buffed because of the existence of a high tier?
-2 -
No im saying why would they buff a perk that is in the top most used perks that is commonly used on high tiers anyway, therefore it's not to compensate for lower tier killers or anything. It just doesn't make sense.

I would say makes plenty of sense. It makes it worth it for basically any kick which on lower tiers is especially good.

It's a good change, with Turn Back The Clock existing now 20 % of current progress was underwhelming when you had guaranteed 10 % of total progress = pop on gen with about 50 % progress minimum to have same regression rate. Now pop will always damage gen with base kick at 20 % value, which is fine, it rewards hooking. 10/10 change.

My only question is;
Does using new Pop count as 2 gen kicks, or still one?
Because Undone, a laughable perk that relies on Survivors messing up lots of skillchecks, will make any kicks count as two regression events instead of one if tokens are used for extra regression (tested in customs, only 4 kicks needed to block gen).
If new Pop makes kicks count as two regression events, then it kills it's synergy with some other perks due to the risk of reaching the regression limit accidentally.

Because it's bow useful when being used on mid or low progress gens. Maybe the survivors don't have a high progress gen, now you can take more progress again. This is a buff

Then nerf Ghoul…

More of high tier killers ruin balance of the game by survivors being too strong because high tiers. And most my games are ghouls, blights, nurses, billies and small variety of others. So yeah, people will play them and any buff to overall killers will make them even stronger.

Undone is such an underused perk that I feel like it's much more likely that nobody noticed (or bothered reporting) that Undone was double dipping on gen regression events.
3 -
because current destroyed it and was useless till now
