BHVR has to stop catering to Killer mains.
Beyond the long drawn out thing this will cause, the devs need to stop only caring about their killer player base. I understand that they, will not name the NUMEROUS big streamers or content creators that are only killers, even though some claim both sides. Watch their content they end up showing bias. Truth last year, 2025, killer got FNAF, ghoul , krasue, the first. with some of those, there were random survivors thrown in. Survivors got A DUMPSTER FIRE OF A WALKING DEAD update. One so terrible that the devs were hacked out of their Star guest stream, who also said that they should listen to OTZ. And as much as i am survivor sided. OTZ, the poster boy of DBD told them how to fix it and they insulted his efforts. But they did in true BHVR fashion apologize but nothing changed. One year, for a State of the game, or health of the game or whatever it was titled. BHVR came up with ideas, but then due to killer main complaints ignored all of it. BHVR did streams showing how bad tunnelling and such was but due to the one side, SCRAPPED an ENTIRE years worth of effort. so state of game or whatever the title became 12 months of NOTHING. DBD is a $20 dollar game. It should not require price of admission, plus watching years worth of youtube videos to play the game and have fun. The community should be closer monitored. Killers who slug the whole team and do clearly toxic things whould be banned. I was today, 3/1/2026 insulted for being 2nd to last and not ratted out my teammate. The level of toxic that BHVR allows is more than a hinderance to knew people. I have 2500 hours and find it a chore to play with my friends. I am a survivor main, and it shouldnt be required by dev design to be so painful.

In my opinion, BHVR knows best and they will always know best. Our opinions have been "passed along" for years, but it's been clear that we're rarely heard unless we cause a huge backlash or a PR nightmare erupts. How we can go a decade still BEGGING for year 1 changes to be made while staff (who should be our representatives) always appear to be confused as we do is beyond me. Any time there's a glimmer of hope on the horizon that some positive shift will occur, we're met with empty promises.
Right now, Killer is the main concern and anything we have to say about that simply does not matter. 2025 made that crystal clear.

@UnicornMedal I gave you props in the other thread. And I agree with you here also. Thank you for commenting.
-7 -
Thank you. 😎
-3 -
You are evidently mistaken, survivors keep receiving changes that artificially boost their odds of survival.
8 -
Daily reminder:
Survivors can leave without penalty the moment they hit the ground.
Killers have to endure for 2 minutes while survivors are teabagging at the gates, no privilege of free leaving whatsoever.
SWF hasn't been addressed for 10 years and counting.
The devs favor survivors, and there are hard proofs of that.
8 -
wow those are the bits of "proof" added… exactly why dbd is in its state, killer mains dont understand what they have. the IRRATIONAL fear EVERY killer main has of going against SWF"s is nonsense. a huge problem is that so many talk from their very high hour account. NEWS FLASH, lower hour count people play with their friends to have fun. DBD IS a party game. NO MATTER how hard killers want to be comp. playing comp against 4 random people trying to enjoy a game is NOT COMP.
-8 -
If it was a party game then why isn't the Killer treated like there apart of the party.
Why are the Killer side and survivor side separated from eachother.
Party games include everyone regardless of what side they play.
Yes there is custom game but thats gives no one credit for playing it.
This isnt a Party game. Its a PVP game and will always will be. If the devs stopped listening to one side of the game and that side leaves.
Verity is everything in a Party Game and DBD has no Verity. Most of the Killers are rather very weak or Unplayable. While ur party is having fun, ur treating one person on the other side like there nothing all because they hurt ur feelings in a video Game.

It sounds like you and many others are not respecting the fact that this is a PvP game.
I'm not sure if you're aware, but in PvP games the players are supposed to compete, trying to defeat each other. The type of experience you're after resides in titles like Left 4 Dead. If you enter any form of PvP game, you should expect that the other player(s) will try to beat you.
If you're concerned about being matched against players above your skill bracket, MMR will sort you out as long as there are enough players in the queue pool. And if you do get matched against that higher bracket killer, instead of folding your arms, calling them "sweaty" and scheming for extra boosts, try treating it as an opportunity to improve your survival game instead.

LOL its clear that the killer mains finally showed up to the party. you're comment which helps no one is why bhvr is afraid to do anything. You are the problem.

This sort of us-vs-them attitude doesn't actually help anyone. I play Killer more than Survivor because it's the role I'm best at but I want both roles to be enjoyable, otherwise the game doesn't work. And FWIW the game isn't fun for either role sometimes. Being tunnelled out at 5 gens is not fun. Being slugged for 4 minutes is not fun. Going against a Ghoul with Corrupt, Pain Res, Surge and DMS every other game is not fun. Going against Survivors with four identical meta builds every game is not fun. Losing 3 gens in the first chase because you didn't bring Corrupt and they brought nuclear-powered toolboxes with Stakeout/Hyperfocus is not fun. Getting looped for 5 minutes because the map is bad and/or the Killer you're playing isn't S-tier is not fun. Getting flashied every time you pick up a downed Survivor because they're in comms with each other is not fun. Survivors prerunning and holding W in straight lines to the nearest window/pallet on repeat is not fun. Getting teabagged at the exit gates for 2 minutes is not fun. Having a Survivor DC or give up at 5 gens because they got downed early is not fun. Only winning because solo Survivors lack crucial information or make stupid mistakes, and not because you actually outplayed them, is not fun. Experiencing detrimental bugs that have been in the game for 3 years is not fun. Badham is not fun.
Recognising the current system's pain points for Survivors, especially solo Survivors and more casual players, does not mean denigrating or vilifying Killer players, not least because there's substantial overlap between the two categories.

You complain about toxicity yet you come here and intentionally fan the flames of “us vs them” toxicity by demanding people be banned for doing nothing against the rules in the game. It’s this kind of stuff that is what is causing toxicity in the community, not how people choose to play the game within the rules.

People say this, but the "hard proof" tends to be things like Survivor getting a QOL update right before a major element of their play is nerfed and a busted Killer releases. Remember last year when the forum was in flames over the exit survey not including "gens complete too quickly" after we had a patch that was banning Survivors from the game for getting on a gen immediately after being unhooked and around the same time the anti-camp/slug/tunnel mechanic was rolled back?
The reality is that the game has been balanced primarily with Killers in mind for years now but because nothing will ever be good enough, it's seldom appreciated. At the end of the day, that "proof" is mainly bias and fear (in my opinion).
I agree, but there's a lot of context missing here. If a Survivor can go on a losing streak where they play 10 trials in one evening and don't win a single one (with many being those scenarios you mention), while a Killer can win at least half or more of their trials even if they are frustrating, those are wildly different scenarios.
I think a great start would be balance the game so that dying more isn't equal to losing more. Otherwise you're asking players to be fodder and to deal with that or to not play at all.

This is the biggest lie you could have told. The entirety of 2025 was huge failure because they were trying to promote their anti-changes while also offering nothing for killer in return.
They tried to address tunneling and slugging while completely ignoring genrushing and 4-man sabosquads metas, with the only thing they were going to be offering killers were the unique hook benefits, which by the end of their attempt of a health update, they were planning on only giving Bloodlust and Bloodpoints, two completely useless things for a trial. They wanted to give survivors free unhooks, free unbreakables, free stealth and endurance for being unhooked, and all the while locking the ability to regress gens if killers played in a certain way. All the while the pallet density update was happening in the background, and they were also planning on nerfing the best killer perks too. It has barely been a year and everyone is already forgetting this mess.
These changes didn't go live because BHVR was too creatively bankrupt to think of any benefits for killer, they were going to give numerous basekit benefits to one side while only offering brownie points to the other. It was a joke and going to be a completely one sided update.3 -
And of the changes of 2025, which ones went live and which ones did not? Because I remember an entire PTB of anti-go next and then a patch that actively banned Survivors from the game for playing normally, while the anti-tunnel/camp/slug mechanic lasted 2 days in the PTB before it was pulled.
-1 -
The anti-go next preventions were created to stop survivors from bailing out on other survivors at the beginning of a trial by killing themselves on their first hook. At the very least it brought the upside of stopping survivors from killing themselves on the first hook, which is a well recieved kept change for both sides.
3 -
That was a pivot. The answer is that the nerfs proposed to Survivors in 2025 were kept, while a patch that addressed pain points that have persisted for a decade but also affected Killer weren't even given a chance to be experienced.
-1 -
this is just silly
-1 -
The only nerfs I can recall on top of my head were the Styptic Agent and Anti-Hemorrage Syringe nerfs and while I am on the belief that being able to heal mid-chase or just gain a 5 endurance mid-chase had to go, mostly because it affected slower or M1 killers more, I 100% agree that the effects they gave them instead are horrible and should have been looked at long ago. I don't remember anything else they nerfed.
2 -
The anti-go next system still exists and will punish a Survivor for being tunneled out too quickly. It's rare but it does happen. The current DC system, which effects everybody but was put in place largely because of Survivor, is unchanged too. The proposed changes to Survivor perks from the anti-camp/tunnel/slug mechanics were also kept while those respective mechanics did not.
Pallets were also reverted, but I left that out because it's a change nobody wanted and it was obvious it was going to be undone the moment it was introduced.
-3 -
What survivor perks are we talking about here? Because Breakdown, Wicked, Tenacity and Conviction were all reverted back to their original states when they gave up on the anti-changes. Everything else you listed is not a survivor nerf, except the pallet density, but that's another can of worms.
3 -
You should see some of my Killer matches. Believe me, Killers experience the same thing.
0 -
Again, what quantity are we talking? By design, you're meant to win more than you lose as Killer.
-2 -
Many people tend to forget the following…
Yeah the game is heavily sided in favor of Killer in a 1vs1 Situation and it should be that way. Killer by design has to get the Survivor. Just imagine each Survivor would be at the exact same level as the Killer strenght wise. 5 Gen loops would be kinda… normal in that case and would drop the Killrates into a bottomless pit.
But the game is not 1vs1 it is designed to be 4vs1 (sad reallity is that in soloque its more like 1v1v1v1v1).
The sad reallity in DBD is the modern media which leads to unrealistic standards and talking points. Often you can see the new "100000000" game winstreaks on perk and powerless trapper while standing 10 minutes afk with 12 hooks or the 5 gen chase against a hacker without using a single vault and pallet. (Yeah I know that these examples are out of anything but sometimes a little eyeopener is all whats needed.)
I nearly played this game for 5000 hours and most of the time I am playing with friends because I feel hyper stressed while playing Killer and I can tell you something after an amount of time "escaping" gets kinda boring for me. I live for the moments when I go for the impossible safe and pull it off even if it costs me my own life.
Is DBD balanced? Heck no… there are way to many things which has to be balanced around. (Maps, Pallets, Killer, Addons and so on) Do the Devs cater to one side? No they don´t which doesn´t mean that every dissision they make is the perfect one for each side.
So maybe… just maybe can we go away from all this us vs them and try to discuss things like equals and not like angry children?
1 -
This will be my last post on this forum. The fact that divisive “us vs them” trash posts like this one are apparently totally fine and worthy content to stay posted while we seem to regularly have long-standing forum members who actually contribute constructive feedback and productive discussions be banned or otherwise leave because they are disgusted with this garbage as well, is truly pathetic.
I’ve come to the conclusion that despite stating the opposite, the mods/devs really don’t care about addressing toxicity at all because they know it, in a sick and twisted way, draws people into the game and along with it their $$$. It’s why they are totally fine with the community devolving into an “us vs them” tribalistic pissing match where people who only play one side, are bad at the game and refuse to improve themselves, come to blame “killer mains” or “survivor mains” for all their problems and demand nerfs for the side they don’t like.
If that is the kind of place that they want this community to be, then I don’t want to waste my time here anymore. Thanks to those of you who take time to look at the game from both sides, articulate your ideas in a constructive and civil way, and truly want to make this game better for everyone and not just your preferred “main” side. I don’t know how or why you manage to stay here, but glad you are here and wish you the best.3 -
You seriously don’t play survivor, do you?
Survivors can’t leave “the moment they hit the ground”. It’s after all have been slugged, or one person has been slugged several times. Also, killer has abandon feature too after so much time has passed since the last gen was done. Maybe they can reduce that time.
Killers don’t have to wait while survivors BM at the exit. Seriously, go smack them, then they leave. Humping a downed survivor on the other hand, well survivors can’t do anything about that unless they have some perk to help get them up and not downed again immediately.
Majority of players are solo q. Some are better than others, then you have other teammates hiding in a corner while you try to do gens/keep the killer busy.
Behaviour favors killers, hence why their ping gets priority hits over survivor ping. They don’t want the killer to feel scammed of a hit they saw they got but then the server denies them.
Please, learn more about both sides before you make a weak argument. Both sides have issues. Weak killers struggle, while strong killers dominate. You help nothing advocating for only one role in this game.

Are we playing the same game?
Springtrap is pathetically weak.
TWD chapter came with a perk that stuns the killer by vaulting, another that insta-recovers from dying state and another that recycles broken pallets. While we're at it, let's talk about pallets, every square foot there's a pallet, there is no deadzone in any map and there's not even a chance to create any just for the sheer amount.
The generators are being repaired at the speed of light and yet you whine about the killer trying to kill.
Please explain how any of that sounds like catering to killers
-1 -
I want to say that @UnicornMedal and @squishmella thank you for objective remarks. and leaky, you have not played this game long enough. last stand is a perk with a ridiculous requirement, only used once per trial. conviction is only effective in conjunction with other perks and only valid if the killer slugs. the recycled pallet is only good IF you can stun the killer otherwise its ANOTHER free hit at pallets due to bhvr's bad programming, plus its activate requirements.
