2v8 permanent?
I started when 2v8 was happening and was having fun! Didnt realize that normal was only 1v4. Now its gone back and finding 1v4 terribly boring! Flow and ease of play and everything that kind of appealed to me is gone from game :(
Is there any way to see if devs will make a permanent the 2v8 along with 1v4 so we actually get a choice?

It's something they've considered and mentioned several times in feedback surveys and community live streams but as of right now it's not permanent due to its destructive effects on queue times.

if 2v8 were permanent theyd have to turn off the bp faucet used to bribe ppl into playing surv and then killer queues would just be eternal for the mode

Hell no, i actually want to play actual, real DBD, not 2v8-slop. You can have it in custom games with no progression as you dont need progression anyway if you dont want to play DBD.

5-8 minutes queue time and then survivors give up or you get a group of survivors doing win streaks? No thank you.

Errr.. no, its absolutely not worth playing when 2v8 is active and swallowing the whole game. Waiting the length of a match just to play is stupid and a waste of time. 2v8 is already a 3 week break from the game for me, it would just become a permanent uninstall at that point. Wouldn't even care if the game died.
If the 1v4 haters want 2v8 then progression wouldn't matter anyway because it doesnt use it. But i bet the mode becomes a ghost town because its only propped up by incentives, which shows how flawed it is. It should never be permanent.

Splitting queues.
I also think 2v8 would absolutely begin to lose its luster. It's not particularly balanced at all, which is fine when it's novel, but after a while it'd get annoying to a point where dev time would be demanded to balance it, removing time from the core game.
I like 2v8 as a fun timewaster, but it isn't as refined as the base game. The population for it would definitely drop off massively if there was no longer FOMO. BP incentives work but then you'll just have people grinding it just for that which would hurt 1v4 queues.
I agree the 2v8 ruleset should be available in custom games though, even for 1v4. Could be a fun way to party game with casual friends that don't want to sweat or worry about perk selection.0 -
Yeah I'd really rather they just make it a loosely balanced event every few months as they've been doing.
I'm starting to see calls for BHVR to take balance in 2v8 more seriously, which would only increase as novelty wears off, but 2v8 is kinda the party mode, and I like it that way.
I'd just want some more killers added and some extremes toned down, like sprint on command and Oni in general. Some buffs for Chucky, Pyramid Head, and (possibly?) Ghost Face would be appreciated as well.
Just as long as it's in the spirit of fun for both sides.

Yeah, like I'd enjoy more variety and maybe trimming some silly or exploitable stuff. Oni's power charges too quickly, for example, as his usual weakness of riding the struggle bus all the way to his first injury is removed by killers like Wraith who can get the blood orbs going really quickly.
But that's for next time, when enough time has passed for any work done on it not to interfere with work on the core game.0 -
Im missing it already but maybe not available all the time as queques can become problem. Although playing while you wait featute helps. If it becomes pernament I think 1vs4 should be fine. Bp bonus ofcourse would have to be lowered maybe around 100-150% as you can't bring cake offerings.
2 weeks every 2 month instead 3 month cycle would be probably ideal for 2vs8.
