Match Categories: Casual VS Ranked/Competitive

Hi all!

I think it would be really nice in dbd to be able to queue for separate categories. I really enjoyed the non-ranked form in 2v8, and it felt more free and fun than normal.

Casual matches would still get bp, but there wouldn't be like an expectation to sweat or be the best at all matches, they're just for fun and maybe learning new stuff.

Maybe ranked matches could have different rules, or BP multipliers for them, unsure!

So for example, someone doing a win streak could play in the Ranked/Competitive matches, and the ones who are just chilling and just kind of vibing can play in the casual category.

People sweat no amtter what you call a mode.

We don't need to split queues pointlessly. People arent going to wait longer in the least populated queue, less people means less accurate skill match ups which leads to worse games. Ranked means nothing in DBD. My version of "chilling" could be your version of "sweating".

There's literally no reason to do this. Don't expect to play a PvP game and expect people not to play to win?

I love chill & memery as much as the next guy, but I also like to play the game.

Splitting the queues like this will no doubt result in people getting angry that I downed and hooked them in a casual game, because I wanted a game where I could play after work without trying too hard. Like @Shinkiro said, someone will inevitably consider it toxic to play normally instead of nodding for 4 minutes then opening the gate for them and tell me to go to ranked.

There are plenty of other PVP games that have ranked modes and casual modes, and there is a CLEAR change in atmosphere to the game after the "score-less" 2v8 mode is closed. Having the option to queue in a lobby where you aren't EXPECTED to be "good" can remove a lot of stress from a lot of players, Killers and Survivors.

You will always get people going to w/e category and doing w/e, it isn't for them. It's for everyone that's ever looked at the Ready button and decided they were too anxious to try.

I can't pretend I know exactly what this mode would look like, but 2v8 also brought a LOT of people back to the game who are probably going to turn around and bail again. Maybe there could be a simplified class system for it or some #########, idk, the point is to have a space where you can breathe a little. If someone comes to the casual category to sweat they're the problem LMAO not the one we tailor things around.

I just do not think DBD has the playerbase size to support two permanent queues.

I do think that's true, but it's because the game is inaccessible to new players :( hopefully they can do some more things about it
