Is Bhvr more reluctant to give out BP?

Is it just me, or over the last year or two have they become way more hesitant to give out BP?

I don’t have any hard data to back this up, so this is definitely more of an anecdotal observation, but I’d genuinely like to hear what everyone else thinks.

Examples come to mind:

They used to hand out BP codes like candy, but now you barely ever see them. The weekly reward also used to feel like they had a bit more variety, whereas now it just seems to be a flat 250K every week. BP bonus events feel less frequent too, and incentives in general don’t seem as generous as they used to be. Even the calendar reward events feel like they pay out less. The bonus quests are another example , 10K per quest! Even compensation rewards seem smaller. I’m almost positive that in the past, when there were outages, we got 1 million BP.

With the roster constantly expanding, prestige going up to 100, and the game needing to attract and retain new players, you’d think they’d be a bit more generous with BP, not less.

Maybe it’s just my memory, and without actual numbers it’s hard to prove, but it really does feel like there’s a reluctant to give out BP.

I have no hard evidence and I try to assume it's just my memory being bad. It's hard to say though, as compensations, rewards, and even event structures seem to offer less BP now. Even down to the christmas event's mistletoe only giving bonus blood points for event related stuff and only during the event. 2v8 offered no BP incentive to killers, or event incentive at all save for the higher multiplier for survivors which was fair to get survivors flush in the event, but the event itself gave nothing. I made around 25% as much bloodpoints as normal as killer if I did 2v8, as opposed to just doing normal matches before the event.

It even seems like survivor pudding and bloody streamers are rarer and rarer in the bloodweb. But the primary word is seems. It feels that way, but frankly speaking I just don't trust our memories collectively. I'd want to see hard numbers to back the idea, just as you would. Maybe someone will hop in and give us some definitive historical patterns and comparisons.

I got 1 bloody party streamer on my Kwon from making it to prestige 3, you might be onto something. Maybe just me being unlucky tho!

I do feel like the BP incetives/bonuses/event rewards etc got decreased.

I don't remember when the last blood feast etc were out - maybe last bloodmoon? I wish they've been here often.
I wish incentives were better, always 100% for example.
Quests could be more profitable aswell.

Maybe their idea is for us to spend more time in the game, because who doesnt want the "100" on their favourite characters.

Offerings are bad example the reason why you get less blue offerings or it seems so is the fact there is 39 offerings in that category so you are way more unlikely to get specific offering of that rarity than you would be getting specific offering on any of the other rarity levels. It has nothing do with anything else than specific blue offerings are rarer because there is more of them than others.

I personally don't think they BP rewards got worse or at least not that much. They changed how we get them and give quite a lot in the quest system that was not there before so they don't need to give that high BP bonuses when you already get them from the quests.

We had archives before. Those would give a lot of BP aswell.

Yeah but they were like quest lite version. Time to time no long term archive mission and with current system they seem to be adding way more quests with all releases. Not to mention the four dailies you get now when earlier it was one daily per day and most of the time were more annoying to gain as even in some cases they demanded you to play unoptionally to get them. They might have dialed down some BP gains but as I said I don't think they are that major. Not to mention any time there is problems they usually give quite a big compensation like the recent downtime that they gave everyone 750k BP. There is also the illusion of them changing the BP bonuses to show themselves with x1.25 instead of the old +25%. Apparently smaller number can make it seem the gain is smaller when in reality both are the same.

I think the old daily system gave you slightly more. You got one per day, with a maximum of three, and they paid out 30k each. I also remember they would regularly run bonuses where they doubled the BP, taking them up to 60k. With this one, yes, you get four per day, but each quest only pays out 5k.

They do compensate when there are issues, but like I mentioned, I remember times when we got 1 million because of problems.

For me, it was always 100%, and occasionally 50%. I’m not sure how 1.25 translates to that.

But yeah, I’m going off memory here, and if I’m wrong, I really wish one of the mods would jump in and say, “Nope, here are the stats, you’re wrong.”
