What is the average chase time?

It may vary depending on the map or RNG, but how long does a chase need to last for an average survivor to be considered decent for the team?
Recently I've been trying to compare my longest chase times with some of my weaker chases from a while ago, because I want to improve and be more helpful since I tend to be hard on myself. Looking at matches from a few months to a year ago compared to my recent games, it seems like my chases usually last around 20-30 seconds.

theres no real clean answer outside of "as long as possible", to be honest - teams vary hugely in efficiency, and its going to vary map to map and even killer to killer.

as long as youre looping away from important gens and making your chases as long as you can, you're doing your job. don't worry too much about a goal number.

As kit said as long as possible but if you manage to do 30 second chase you are doing your part as I would imagine most chases are under that.

If progress gets made and the killer's time gets wasted, I'd say it's good.

It's pretty hard to judge by the numbers alone because they don't show how the chase ended. Were you downed or did you escape? Did the chase actually end or did it just register that way becuase you made distance, even though the killer was still pursuing you? Did you waste enough time in the right area for key gens to get done? My longest chase for the last 30 days is 1 min 8s but I couldn't tell you what happened there. For all I know, it was a friendly killer I was farming with. Or I might have dragged the killer all over the map, startling everyone off their gens and achieving nothing. I wouldn't worry so much about time as a sole factor.

I took stats from Survivors I played with once or a few times in one day, and in all of those games I got downed. I have recordings of the last few matches, in one a gen reached maybe 30 - 50% progress. In second match, a full gen got done.
I guess wasting time for 20-30 seconds is good enough?
