sigh this event

having to carry gas all the way to a generator without running is to painful with all the slow downs that work on generators. this event is so killer sided now. gl to my survivors…

this is the worst event ever.

Yeah, not touching this event. It's even worse than last year. Oh and no discount on costumes? Worry not, I won't buy anything in that case either.

What is not killer sided in the game? The entire game is a joke.

Filling up a blood generator is a lot faster than working a normal gen. There should and usually are gas pumps near one. If you could easily run back and forth without any penalty, then the gens will get done too fast. I mean they even get completed faster even with running. This update is not killer sided but it is the most killer sweat game mode. With gens getting done so quickly normally, killers will start to tunnel and soft camp right from the start instead of waiting to see if survivors are organized and "gen rushing". It was like this last year and the year before. It's going to be like that this year too. Luckily you have the option to not play this mode if you don't find it enjoyable.

When events happen, the regular queue is usually even more try-hardy in my experience.

    Dinadin Member Posts: 269

Ive never seen this being a thing. Its commnly known that those who want to make the games unfun are meddling with the event queue. So the games in normal queue are more likely to be fair, which in fact means, that skill expression is more obvious, bit thats nothing to do with try-hards.

See, and this is where you had to go and make this a thing. Saying "its commonly known" is just not true. I shared with your what my experience is like, that doesn't mean that your experience isn't also valid and true for you, but then you immediately went to tell me "how wrong i am" why do that?

  • Dinadin

Just because you never accept common knowledge doesnt meant its wrong.

Blood pump spawns definitely are bugged, I can't see how they would intentionally make them spawn 2 meters apart from each other… Also it is very easy for a killer to "undo" a survivor wasting time filling up a can and walking to the gen, which amounts to a lot of lost progress for the survivors.

When doing regular gens, the progress the survivor invested stays (unless actively regressed)

I haven't played that much due to work this week but everything I've seen regarding pump spawns is sooooo irritating. We needed changed but we need proper spawns to prevent ugly "endgame" pump camping scenarios.

Something something lived experiences. I have no problem accepting "common knowledge" if it has evidence to back it up. This was literally something where i was sharing my SUBJECTIVE experience and then was immediately told that i was OBJECTIVELY wrong. Which is just incorrect on so many levels.

i’d rather go against try hards than play walking simulator for 50% of my game tbh.

Fair enough. Personally i prefer the chill matches myself.

I agree this event hasn't been fun so far. I think it's been the worse. Yes, some terrible killers. Had one today where this Dracula hooked a Rebecca and kept hitting her over until she unhooked her self with AFC and would chase her down again. I even tried to take protection hits for her and he just ignored me. The upside was the other 3 of us got out but it must have sucked to be that Rebecca player.

For some reason survivors have been really bad too. I only play solo so I'm used to lots of mistakes (I'm guilty of that too). I'm fairly chill about all that but for some reason the players in the even this time have been extra bad. So many times I've been left on hook - I don't get that often in normal que. Just this match left to die on my first hook! No one even attempted the save.

Maybe it's a lot of players that don't play anymore just returning for the event?

the regular mode was all sweats while all the casuals enjoy the party game mode. between the queue times and match quality many people take breaks during it.

Just played 2 rounds as skull merchant, didnt even bring perks cuz i was expecting to lose anyway, and the first one they just left 2 people to die on first hook and went "yea we're not doing this"

And it seems that way every round with the pumps all being in 1 spot with blood gens a mile away lol

Commonly those who want to sweat are playing the normal queue, killers and survivors. People more focused on fun are in the event. This is what happens every time when there is a new game mode or a popular modifier or event.

Tbh, this the most survivor sided event of the game, no joke. Blood gens are hard to protect and there is many instances of blood pumps spawning near blood gens. I remember myself completing a gen very fast last year due to a pump spawning right beside it.

Its a event so no stress, but its much easier for survivors than it is for killers.

If you are having trouble, try running fixated. It helps a lot to walk with the galloons

I'm on team "always just run with the blood can." It's annoying, I won't lie, but I've been trying to take an attitude like, "There are blood gens casually around the map and, if I am casually near a pump, I'll tap it and see where the closest one is. And then if it's not fully on the other side of the map, I'll run some blood over," as opposed to fixating on finishing a specific gen.

My peeve is honestly the same as last year, which is that it feels stupid that I can be injured and bleeding on the ground all match and that does not help me with the blood gens at all. If the event were reworked to encourage people to play injured, that might be more interesting.

This is why I am bringing Fast Track. Do the Blood Generators, get Fast Track stacks to dump on the Normal Generators as a backup (plus you MUST complete at least one Normal Generator.) it's been working beautifully.

Well, everyone experience is quite singular. But i've been playing even SoloQ and unless we were throwing - like when i tried to save in the endgame against Bubba LOL - the matches were very easy.

Yeah have had no real problems of killers being too oppressive. The matches are about the same as in normal queue. You win some you lose some.

The blood loss is negligible when running - you will fill way faster by disregarding that entire mechanic and just run back and forth between pump and gen.

Depends on the distance if its really long way from the pump to gen walking part of the way is still better than running the whole way. TicTac crunched the numbers and in that case doing part walking wins over running the whole way. If you can get the gen with three cans run if it takes more than that walking part of the way can be helpful if you have the time to do so.

The biggest problem in this event is the bad matchmaking. I'm not saying it works perfectly in normal mode, but here i was matched with survivors who had like 200h (i have over 4000). This barely happens in normal game mode if not the odd "replacement mechanic" occurs (when someone leaves or you leave the lobby, the game prioritizes quick replacement instead of matching MMR values).

If survivors have a good RNG with pumps and gens and MMR works, this mode is actually survivor sided, but most of my games have been hard wins for the killer, with many of them going for 12 hooks and ignoring survs on death hook because we couldn't even finish 2 gens.

I've had a match with a Sable refusing to pallet save, some survs not touching a gen for the whole game or running into my 95% gen with the killer after seeing me working there on hook and stuff like that - clearly a lack of game sense and experience

My current killer games emphasize the difference to the normal game mode where perks like Fast Track (combined with Deja Vu, Resilience, Hyperfocus, Prove Thyself etc) dominate, gens fly and survs win more than often. I haven't lost a single match (but only played like 10, worst result was a 2k).

We would like to invite you to the cult of Fixated

  • vol4r

I use Fixated, Sprint Burst and Vigil for the event - it makes life a little bit easier.

After we hit 55m I am going back to normal queue. It's very hard to max out objective points in the event queue ;p

I've found the event to be largely unplayable on survivor between the matchmaking and blood pump spawns.

Gens have been ridiculously, painfully slow. I'm getting 1 or 2 teammates urban evading around the map while a teammate is in chase, and if they're not doing that, they're walking a blood can across the map (assuming they can even find a blood pump). Meanwhile, killers are hard tunneling at 5 gens with the same amount of regression they always have.

Then I switch to killer and get matched with survivors that look like they just installed the game. I have over 5k hours and went against a team in default cosmetics that didn't know how to run. A Bill and Meg were walking away from me in chase.

you can run this time around tough . The ammount yoh loose by running is barelly any and it takes the same ammount of trips back to the pump .

What a beauty, a trifecta of gas stations that could easily have been spawned elsewhere.

Making me feel like I'm playing an MMO and chests are everywhere or a Legend of Zelda game collecting rupees... But this is Dead By Daylight, so... Wow.
