Bloodmoon Meta?
Could it be that killers are extremely aggressive during this Bloodmoon? Most of the time, I don’t mind tunneling since I do it myself, but it really feels worse than usual this time. Also, every second match is a Blight who thinks they’re Lilith Omen and plays like there’s a huge prize pool on the line. If you want to sweat that hard, why not just play normal mode?
And honestly, the camping feels even worse than the tunneling. In a SWF it’s not that big of a problem, but in solo queue it’s awful—people just don’t do gens.
Do survivors even check what their teammates are doing on the side? I feel like I’m the only one paying attention to that :(
Overall, it just feels like it gets worse every year with Bloodmoon and even the anniversary events. And why is everyone so selfish with offerings? It’s always Escape Cake or Pudding—or even worse, that ######### eye.
Edit: Why is everyone using hex builds? I get Ruin and myabe Thrill of the Hunt but so often they use 4 Hexes…Why?

As a soloq survivor I gave up on the event first day I tried it.
came back today and normal que is much better then event que.5 -
yes thats what i also noticed, i just think its weird cause why sweat in an event like that

depends on the time of day . During daytime i get alot more chill matches against legions and wraiths . Late at night is pretty bad just multiple slowdown ghouls or single larrys.

My Survivor matches have actually been better than my Killer ones during the event. On Survivor (my weaker role by far) I’ve seen mostly weird gimmick builds that don’t work or Killers who seem brand new. The fact that you seemingly have a 50/50 of going to the worst maps for most Killers isn’t going in their favour. On Killer I either have to play like the Lord of sweat himself or get teabagged at the gates. I’ve also had a lot of rat players dragging games out for way too long. Broad MMR cutting both ways I think.

For me its blight blight blight ghoul blight then I get the odd wraith or pig or something

People are using hex builds because ruin is strong in the Blood Moon event. Unfortunately, hex builds are somewhat trash in value-return, as survivors can extinguish them and suddenly you have no perks, unlike boons which can be relit. The result is people wanting to run Ruin, feeling they have to make a build out of it.
Thus, [Hex: Ruin], [Thrill of the Hunt], [Hex: Undying], and [Hex: Pentimento] or [Hex: Haunted Grounds] are very popular right now because the build setup gives you ruin, protects ruin temporarily, and makes cleansing totems take much longer. The more time survivors have to spend on totems, the more gens are slowed down, buying the killer time to land hook objectives, tunnel, slug, etc.
It's just a sub-tweet build being employed to slow the match down in response to how fast blood gens complete.
As for the offerings, I too am being selfish now. I've run around 7 or 8 bloody streamers only to hit bully-squads or SWF's who bury me and I get no return for using one. Bloody Streamers are just too rare in the bloodweb now for me to risk throwing them out when I'm seldom seeing others burning them. This is entirely anecdotal mind you, but experience does dictate action.1 -
Event queue is the same to me as normal nothing different at all.

If you're running 2 hexes you might as well run 4. TOTH rework makes hex builds more viable because you can guard them more effectively and the more hexes you combo together the better they are collectively.
My personal fave combo is hex retribution and haunted ground. Aura reading everyone and having everyone exposed makes for some fun plays lol. Unless someone's running distortion and can call the retribution aura read then you'll often get a couple of easy downs when ppl hide in bushes lol

Blood Generators are a lot faster to finish in the long run, so "gen rush" is much worse in the event mode.

"scary thought" imagine if they replaced all gens with blood gens after the event. Gawd

Faster completion puts more pressure on the killer to do something about it before it's too late.

My personal experience has been that yes, killers are playing noticeably more aggressively in this event mode. I have seen way more hard tunneling and several person slugging right off the bat than I've seen on regular matches. I also have yet to see a single match where someone has the opportunity to but doesn't slug for the 4k even when they have no idea where the other remaining survivor actually is. I've seen basement hooks being camped just outside of anti-face camp range, a bubba slugging 3 team mates across half the map before bothering to pick 1 up, killers completely disregarding anyone but the person who was just unhooked - all at 5 gens.
From the perspective of at least this one person who plays a bit of survivor, blood gens are not all that. Unless you get real lucky with a blood pump being near one then it's not faster when you consider the whole process. Half the time I'm annoyed that I can't find a regular gen.
I've routinely got to the point where I'm like - you know what, if you think you're getting another cake out of me then you can suck it.

I think at this point it's obvious that killers don’t need genrushing, perks, incentives, MMR, or rewards to tunnel, they do it simply because they can.

Maybe some expectation from killers that they carry from previous bloodmoon event where gens couldnt be stopped and average game was around 5 minutes if survivors didnt run around doing nothing.
Now blood gens can be regressed by perks or blocked and killer powers work with them like freddys tp or pigs traps but they are still bit faster than regular gens and make survivors harder to find do to blood gens needing blood from pumps which can make getting chase bit longer compare to finding people that must sit on a gen to get it done.
From my experience gens are very fast only thing that makes this event bit bareable is loose mmr so its totaly mixed like its on most event modes so you dont face people that are yours or higher level as in casual mode but even when I have base for win (meaning like two people are dead hook on 3-4 gens so if I push them they are done and rest is very doable 3k or 4k depending on situation) survivors still can get gens fast like you can pop the blood gen but nearly full canister can totaly overdo your regression.

Every single event someone complains about killers doing the objective and killing. This is DBD. No killer is obligated to stop killing and no survivor is obligated to stop doing gens. This isn't a problem This is doing the objective

I don't see anyone here complaining about killers doing the objective and killing. I see people complaining that they're doing it in a way that is oppressive and overkill. They're 2 different things. It's not a matter of doing the objective vs. not doing the objective. It's playing like a jerk vs. not.
When I switch to killer I don't avoid killing survivors, I just don't play as if they're NPCs whose gameplay experience is irrelevant. If I have half the team on death hook at 4 or 5 gens then it's a pretty safe bet I can dial it back a bit and still get a 4k. No need to steamroll before they can accomplish anything other than ego and a total disregard for how miserable I'm making the other side's game. Not steamrolling gets more blood points anyway.

Bloodmoon sucks imo. Not the worst event but definitely one of the rare ones that I would rather play the normal queue, and am very thankful that the option is there. Remember when the event WAS the only queue back before game modes?

I've mostly been playing regular mode, but I've been trying the cheese Ruin build (Ruin, Undying, Thrill, DMS) and I've won all but one of my killer matches. Most have been 4ks at 4 or 5 gens, and the whole build is basically just Ruin. I really don't understand why they allowed Ruin and DMS in the mode. Pretty much every event is killer-sided at this point.

And every time someone doesnt understand that there are actually people who want to have fun in a game.

I play both sides and I have fun. I often play friendly and let at least 1 if not all survivors out during events when I kill. Im not saying playing nice isn't good. Im saying it isn't required

Not to sound like grumpy old man but here goes....Back in my day playing like a jerk was a Bubba standing in my face revving his chainsaw with no base kit BT. Can't tell you how many times my feet touched the ground after rescue and I died half a second later. Starstruck nurse slugging the whole team out with no go next feature. I try to play chill when kill during events but a chill killer is bonus not a right. If you want nice killers during the event play a killer and be nice. I generally do but im only one player
