Why do we even have map offerings anymore?
Like seriously just remove them at this point. 20% chance is absolutely pointless, if it was 50 they might be worth using. But individual map offerings are so rare that you could easily waste all of the ones you have on a low prestige character and never even see the map you want to play.
They were never a particularly healthy offering to begin with. Either swfs bringing them to get a survivor sided map to make killers miserable or killers bring one for a map that suits their basekit for an easy game. * cough* sadako, * cough*
Sure some people just wanted to get the map based achievements but now the offerings are useless for that.
all they do now is clutter up the bloodweb. And i resent paying for a rare offering that probably won't proc.

Nothing should be removed just increase the chance to get a map.

They got nerfed into the ground for a reason. Reliably influencing the map affects a match way too much. It was bad for game health. If they increase the chance they'd need to be careful with it
I think a 40-50% chance would be fair, enough to make them worth using but not a total guarantee.
Imo it would be better to scrap the offering though. 90% of the time it's just being used to make the other side miserable, and if they got removed, we'd see a lot more bloody party streamers in the web. Which would be nice.

When they nerfed map offerings they did 2 things:
- drop their chance % down to 20%
- removed stacking
The idea was to keep survivor teams from guaranteeing favorable maps, and increasing the randomness of the rotation. However, a few patches prior to this change, they also added a feature to the map rotation algorithm that reduces the chances of getting a map if the majority of players in each session had recently been to it, in an attempt to also reduce map repetition. The reason they did this was so Survivor teams playing the same map over and over using offerings would be lowering their chances of the offerings effectiveness through too much repetition, i.e. the more you go to a map you want, the less chance you'll get it, even with offerings.
Why does the latter variable matter? Simply put, it's still an active feature, and if you, along with any teammate, or the killer have already played on the map you want during their current play session, that reduces the current offering's 20% chance to 0, making them useless. If however, they put map Offering stacking back in play, that would help mitigate this issue, and due to the fact that the algorithm would still log how many times you've been to a map, and reduce the chances, it would still do it's job at keeping players from always getting the maps they want, but only after they've been to the map a couple of times at most.
Basically, they over corrected when it came to map offerings. There's 3 things working against map offerings right now that currently make them useless, but if they allow offering stacking to come back, that would make them useful again, while not something people could consistently abuse.

The reduced chance of map offerings was one of the best, if not the best, change in the game.
The 20% chance is perfect. I don't want to play in Midwich or Eerye of Crows just because someone wants to. Leave offerings the way they are.
EDIT: The idea of making them "Map ban" offerings is good too. It would help some killers and builds to be less risky.

I wish they took the time and effort to properly balance maps so they don’t feel one sided for any role instead of nerfing map offerings.

Well, if i REALLY want to go to a realm i could use them. But yeah, if they got removed i wouldn't mind it too.

Would be nice but I fear its not possible either A) by the time they would need it would take more than reworking 5 killers per year and most realistic reason B) there are so many killers that are very specific from base movement speed to abilities etc. so no I think you cant rework all maps that are viable for all killers only if you would like make 3-4 groups and create for each group variant of that map like one for 110 killers or no mobility and other for killers like blight,ghoul that have good mobility and antiloop in one power etc. than it would make more sence but having just 1 variant of each map isnt even possible that the 1 variant of that map will be balanced for all killers thats just fact.

Yeah, but there will always be complaints. It's unavoidable. Maps with too much clutter get complaints from ranged killers, while maps with too little clutter get complaints from stealth killers. There isn't a perfect solution. I do agree with OP, I wouldn't care if they just removed the offerings. Or at least gave us an option to sell unused offerings because i have way too many.

Not really possible unfortunately. There's so many diverse killers with wildly different basekits that making just one map to be balanced for all killers would be a tall ask. Let alone multiple. Unless we wanted to have 12 reskinned versions of the same map. Game is asymmetric by nature so balance is always difficult

I always thought of these offerings as waste. The only way I can see myself use them is in a scenario where there's a 10-20%-ish random mapchance and split the rest over the offerings. In this scenario having just 1 mapoffering in play is crazy powerfull so better throw one in. However I feel like there should always be a random chance aswell.

Give us the option to trade in items/offerings/addons that we don't want for BP, and y'all can do whatever you want with the map offerings. As a solo queue survivor, they feel completely pointless, and I admit they did feel OP as killer, so I just don't use them.
They need to do something about the 10s of thousands of items I have in my inventory that it will literally be impossible for me to use.

It'd be cool if they could be reworked to spawn a uniquely designed tile on the chosen map from the realm they originate from, like a memento of that place. Could be finicky with the map design, but if done well I think it'd add some flavor back into the offerings system.
The current system is pretty bunk yeah. Pure blood web clutter.

I like the offerings where they are now.
My suggestion though, allow me to convert them into BP for the ones I don’t use. Make them spawn less in my blood webs too. I get too many of them.

they got abused by some swf's, they just kept spamming 1 or 2 maps they were really good at, or knew some spots on those maps where the killers could not hook survivors if they had boil over ect. so when they got in a chase they just ran there.

Yeah I'm aware of that. I'm not asking for them to be reinstated to where they were.
They were very unhealthy for the game. I'm saying we might as well remove them entirely. They are just useless, expensive bloodweb clutter at this point. Taking up rare slots that could be used for bloody party streamers.
