No point, Ghoul still makes money. Everyone who wanted to buy Yun-Jin already has, and i guess they realized that over the last couple weeks.

Because this keeps happening. Fog vials were complained about being "annoying" and were obliterated. Even now, finally getting evened out, they are still trash. I snort every time someone uses one against me. Many people thought the anti-tunnel just needed number adjustments, but the outcry nuked that. What's the last outcry that helped survivor? Legion being removed from 2v8? Amazing, a temp mode. Maybe Skull Merchant? How long ago was that?
My bias isn't towards the killer role. If anything, it's towards certain people who play it. It's supposed to the the strong role that manages the map, applies pressures, tracks events, juggles four opponents. It's not supposed to be the whiny-baby-who-wants-everything-for-free role. My killer got nerfed recently. I didn't whine about it, I didn't make threads calling it unfair while survivors have this and that and that. I just accepted it. It's the survivor side that needs help, and it just can't seem to get a single thing, not even a mediocre perk.

Hello people, of DBD community my name is SNIP
I’ve been playing Dead by Daylight since 2016, and honestly, I think these changes to Blight are terrible. He already had a strong identity and skill ceiling, and these updates feel like they make him less fun and less rewarding to play. Additionally Making Blight 4.4 would hurt his ability to keep up against
(Good)-Survivor Teams. Killer balance should be based on how they perform against competitive survivors, not by weakening them in ways that make them less effective overall. This will also lower player skill expression of the character potentially lowering it pick rate and need learn more about instead of blight feeling fun use he will irritating to play and clucky. also to mention take a decent amount time to master blight and get to a good level unlike Ghoul I. we should be focus on closing gap between Lower killers and A tier killers by buffing the D tiers. I feel that this just another case of nerfing character base on video yt or Momo seven for example look at the Freddy Kruger. Freddy was nerfed before, and then the devs had to buff him back because he was too weak against good survivors and same thing happened with Billy where they introduce a overheat mechanic, it was Hevey nerf to power This undisputed made him became much weaker against good survivors. That why later he got the overcharge mechanic. When killers fall behind at higher levels, buff up so they can stay competitive. Lastly, I love this game, which is exactly why I’m speaking up. I just hope the devas listen to the community with a grain of salt. but seriously Don't do this nerf

Also to mention that haft A tier killers aren't considered comp level killiers.

yeah so my assessment is entirely correct. You don't acknowledge any of the reasons for why these things would get changed, just that they did, they were killer issues, and that they were complained about. And based on that you think developers will change everything killers complain about.
Survivors get a lot of things that i think that you don't acknowledge because they aren't widely discussed or complained about. This is either because they are strong but not problematic or require advanced level play to get value from. And both of things mean any complaints about them won't gain traction.
Fast track is an exception i believe because of it's applicability. It's an old perk that is very easy to use and it's only counter is to not hook survivors and that is the part that people are trying to point out.-5 -
I think you and I are more old school gamers. To us, we grew up putting in the time, building the skill, then getting the pay off. I think modern gaming is more about instant gratification. People want it to be easier for themselves, and they struggle to understand that their opponents also want it easier so it's a constant tug of war in pvp.
3 -
Do you have any idea how infuriatingly tonedeaf it is to argue about 'encouraging behaviour that people don't like to play against' after attempts to address that exact behaviour got shot down with absolute vitriol?
6 -
Completely irrelevant to this discussion but what more do you ppl complaining about ghoul here want? the vault is gone, the exploits are gone, the autoaim is gone. I see you all complaining a lot but there's genuinely been a lot of good changes to this killer.
-1 -
If that will be the sidegrade for fast track, that means its effect will be the same? I dont mind its effect, i think the problem how you get tokens.
The problem isnt that this perk is Strong and Op and ect… Nah, its ussualy free BNP charges for anyone who bring it to the match.
And great skill checks was never a hard to do.
Well, others Perks with same effect requrie certain conditions to make them work and these conditions spend time. While FT dosent. So if FT new sidegraded verion will fix the 3 min matches experience its good.
Im glad to see that you are looking around this perk, instead to nerf\forgot and move on.
About diminishing, this is what this game has been missing for a long time. Stacking was a problem, and possible will be. If game wont adapt.
Yes this will ruin funny Haste builds but with a cost.
There will be a plenty room to make strong interesting and fun perks, without a risk to broke the game if something could be combined.
Now people have to think how their builds would work, instead of take everything to heal or gen rush or haste... They would try something else.1 -
Unless BHVR buffs dozens of perks that will be left in the trash once they can no longer stack, this will actually kill build diversity further. Players will instead resort to only bring the best haste perk, the best healing perk, etc, and builds will become even more homogenized. Why would I ever use Batteries if it gives me a measly 2.5% haste? I'll just slap on Furtive Chase for the fat haste bonus, and then combine it with the best gen regression perk and the best gen blocking perk.
While it seems their intent is to discourage perk stacking rather than kill the practice altogether, it most likely will reduce the overall number of perks you see in your lobbies.

I am pretty sure they change chainsaw movement speed basekit :P
Demo is what I want to know aswell

Those proposed systems would not have been good for the game as a whole. It's my understanding that it was cancelled due to knock on effects and not because of what it was trying to address in the first place. And i support trying to address tunnelling/camping/slugging, just not at the cost of what those systems had.
Fast track is an example of things i think they should focus on because things like this are what contribute to these strategies being optimal. Not the main reason, not even a big one but whilst it's relevant i would like to see it being nipped in the bud which is what seems to be happening. More should be done (to other things in the game) but this is what some are asking for for now.
I am here to discuss design, not reactions.-6 -
I was also hopefull at the anti-tunnel changes.
I was one of the people that reduced their playing time.
Till this day my solo queue teammates do not bring DS and are getting tunneled, making the matches impossible to win.I don't enjoy suvivior experience lately either, playing killer gives me much more joy.
I started playing this game as a 100% survivior player.
All my real-life friends that made me install the game left long time ago.
People that I made friends with left the game either, there is not much of them left - and they barely even play.Killers are getting so much harder to deal with for casual players, with all the anti-looping abilities etc.
Ping hits happen so often now which makes the experience much worse. Those hits that you feel like should never register especially. Killers are having really high ping are rewarded.
On the killer side I don't experience much frustrations. It's mostly easy to win the games.
I also give out "mercy hatch" all the time, if survivior doesn't DC. Trying to make someone elses experience a little better, sometimes we all need that.Post edited by vol4r on5 -
I am a little scared about the diminishing returns system. As it was prestented I feel like it's direct nerf to survivior side.
I feel like the only gen related perks that this will affect are CoB + Overchange combo, which isn't so strong anymore.Healing builds are dead, gen jockey builds are dead (unless you bring all the skill-check perks), speed builds are dead.
Getting most value of speed build is hard on both sides.
This destroys build variety and doesn't change the meta at all.Seeing teammates build is a big step into reducing the gap between SWF and solo queue, that is very important and good change and I love that.
I love the blight and nurse nerfs. I am really happy that those killers are finally getting some attention - we asked for it for a long time. I wish we could adress nurse more. I wish to see Ghoul changes too.
Changes to dredge, unknown, ghostface and demogorgon really make me happy! I love playing those killers.
Wesker changes are weird to me, he is in a good spot.
Tho I am sad that his "techs" are being deleted. This was the killer that had visible skill ceiling.2 -
They want him gutted like skull merchant so they don't have to play against him ever, its been obvious for awhile.

And maybe you'd have a point if this same argument of 'I have to tunnel' wasn't trotted out every single time a killer loses any match anywhere.
'Not even a big one'
But we're here frying sardines while the blue whale gets a free pass.
I am here to discuss design, not reactions.
You want to talk design, consider the following question:
Why does it seem like the solution to every problem starts with 'nerf survivors'?
Why is it that tunnelling itself won't get addressed in ten years, but 'fast track might encourage tunnelling' requires an immediate handbrake?
9 -
Fast Track isn't even worth bringing over Resilience. Definitely does not need a nerf. You only really get great value from it in cases where your team loses anyways, since it is required for your team to get massacred to gain tokens.
3 -
I noticed this too. It seems like the devs come up with some change that is objectively good, and then react to content creator noise like politicians would. And the loudest content creators are of course predominantly killer mains that go on massive win streaks while creating propaganda videos about how they're the victims of survivor sided game balancing.
3 -
Maybe rollback diminishing returns. If this affects killers, I'm pretty sure their job is only going to get unnecessarily difficult. Proposed killer changes in the past have been more harmful than helpful to both sides.
0 -
I started as killer and stayed that way for awhile, and really didn't realize how rough survivor was until I switched. It's so disadvantaged and so info-heavy, there's so much more to learn than killer, where with killer, you can have a single killer down in a couple hundred hours.
I will say, DS is trash against a lot of killers. The stun needs to be longer. I sometimes get people who bait me with it, so I oblige and, currently playing as Henry, if I'm in World Breaker, they're still within vine range and get sniped the moment I recover. It's not powerful enough against ranged or high mobility killers. If any perks need a buff, it's anti-tunnel. Those should make tunneling damn near impossible if we can't get anything basekit.
I also give out "mercy hatch" all the time, if survivior doesn't DC. Trying to make someone elses experience a little better, sometimes we all need that.
This is a big thing that's frustrating me in the game. I'm giving hatch every time I play, but not because I thought the person did well and deserves an out or just to be nice. I'm doing it because the matches are stomps. I've regularly had 2 or 3 DCs in my matches lately because of how lopsided they are. I'm being backed into moral corners every session. The game is forcing me to feel bad for my opponent, which is not the feeling I'm looking for. Then I come here and see killers cry about 15s Endurance or, God forbid, the horror that is tbagging, and it's just so embarrassing for the killer role. They want more and more, and I feel pretty confident most are above the 60% KR goal.
5 -
Remember having to earn stuff instead paying for it? Crazy days.
I'm pretty at odds with modern gaming and I'm glad this is the only pvp I still play, and I think it will be the last. Maybe other games aren't like this, but a time where some guy with a camera and a mic can tell the masses and the devs how the game is going to be is just not for me anymore.
3 -
How about you actually read the feedback and not just the things you assume to be true?
-1 -
If any perks need a buff, it's anti-tunnel. Those should make tunneling damn near impossible if we can't get anything basekit.I find it funny that what we got out of anti-tunnel PTB was a buff to the basekit BT that no one was asking for and a nerf to Off the Record.
But yeah, if its not going to be a basekit thing, if we're going to play 'win if you guess the right perk', those perks should win.
I'm giving hatch every time I play, but not because I thought the person did well and deserves an out or just to be nice. I'm doing it because the matches are stomps.I'm surprised players have the patience to slug for the 4k. When I'm in that position as killer I'm begging for the game to end as quickly as possible.
2 -
It's not that they're killer issues, it's that killers are a minority but are louder, and the popular CCs are mostly killer mains, and that loud minority keeps gettig their way. You never see the same level of hyperbolic reactions when survivors get nerfs or killers get buffs. Complaints, yes, but not with the same intensity of screeching entitlement. If it was equal, and you saw videos with titles like "survivor is dead" and "why I'll quit survivor if this goes through" then at least the drama would be equally stupid. But it isn't, and the squeaky wheel keeps getting the oil. That is my problem with this company, and this playerbase.
Survivors get a lot of things that i think that you don't acknowledge because they aren't widely discussed or complained about. This is either because they are strong but not problematic or require advanced level play to get value from. And both of things mean any complaints about them won't gain traction
I'm not sure what strong thing survivors have that I don't have to here complaints about everyday. Exhaustion? Basekit BT? Gen perks? Healing perks? Chase perks? Holding W at a slower base speed than killers?
And why shouod things only be valuable for great players? And only for one side? Most players aren't 10k hour pros.
2 -
You sure talk a lot about how certain things were "legitimate Killer issues" rather than just sheer outcry and entitlement, but not a single word about HOW these issues are legitimate.
2 -
For him to be fun to play against, I want you to sit down and play multiple matches against him and tell me it's "Fun".
The hyper mobility is the issue paired with the stupid anti loop he has, none of these "Changes" affect those who are good at him, it only came after those who are bad at killer.0 -
Because changing fast track is easy. Tunnelling is an issue that has been built up over 10 years.
Similarly it's easy to make changes to stuff that is the same every match, survivors, rather than killers who are varied.-2 -
People have made plenty of good feedback posts/videos about these topics that you can find if you look for them
-4 -
Wow, that's all you have after telling everyone else that they're biased? Well, it's good to know where your bias is...
6 -
When do survivors get nerfed and killers get buffs at a basekit level? The last time that happened which was both at the same time was 6.1.0 and the community was flooded with the idea that killers were overbuffed then.
-4 -
Because changing fast track is easy. Tunnelling is an issue that has been built up over 10 years.
That's a cop-out and you know it. Tunnelling wasn't always an issue 'built up over 10 years', but it got there by being continuously ignored.
This is also ignoring that doing something about tunnelling is much easier than people make it out to be. The real issue is that there is a vocal minority that will raise hell over anything that is done to address tunnelling.
So instead of fixing tunnelling, we end up just using it as justification for yet more survivor nerfs.
Similarly it's easy to make changes to stuff that is the same every match, survivors, rather than killers who are varied.
Ah, so -everyone- is running the exact same stack-build? Are they all running the 4-heal perk build?
Or are they running a variety of builds with some being stack-builds?
4 -
Aura customization? Please tell me I can change aura colors I will reinstall the game so fast, I've had to deal with eruption's aura reading being essentially useless for too long with gen and survivor colors both being red.
2 -
Yes, it's something that the developers were ignorant to, it's effectively the same thing.
As mandy has said they are aiming for Fast Track to be sidegraded. So not nerfs but a healthier design.
Also a vocal minority being an issue is not really a constructive way to frame it, you can't silence people. It's only an issue if they completely dictate something which i don't believe they do
I don't know how stack builds is relevant to Fast Track.-3 -
You can currently do that already. You can change killer, survivor, hooked/downed survivor, generators, hooks, pallets and window vaults auras currently they are in the options under "beta". They are adding more of them in the PTB.
1 -
The 15s BT, and the complaints have been endless. There are even posters regularly asking for the BT to be completely removed in end game. After the anti-cheese ptb got nuked, we had numerous people asking for the proposed killer buffs to be basekit while still leaving out the survivor ones. Fog vials were a new item that were decimatd immediately because of complaints. Even something as mid as 120s basekit Unbreakable couldn't happen. There are no new buffs because the community won't allow them.
The last time that happened which was both at the same time was 6.1.0 and the community was flooded with the idea that killers were overbuffed then.
Isn't that that funny? Complaints, but nothing happened. And killers have been strong ever since. This was the turning point, and we keep going in the same direction with no shift.
And I'm not necessarily talking about basekit. Perks matter too, and there was silence about the Ruin and Pop buffs, despite survivors universally finding 4 slowdowns unbearable. There've been good perks released on both sides recently, but the CCs haven't hard focused on them, and most on survivor are stealth. When the topic shifts away from gens and to "ratting" again, we'll see them cry about those next.
6 -
DS is overrated, probably because it used to be better and a bunch of "comp" players with massive egos hyped it up. Going into a match you only have 25% chance of being the target of a hard tunnel. So thats already 75% of your matches where you probably won't even use it. Then even if you do, depending on the situation it is often not going to change the outcome. Better to run a perk that provides consistent value every single match.
And yes, most* killer mains have simply moved the goal posts for years now and deny objective data showing how killer-sided the game really is. Now I understand the devs want it this way, because after all its a "horror" game, but the gaslighting from killer mains is pretty obnoxious. That makes me think, if the devs want to aim for a killer-sided balance target for the sake of horror, why wouldn't they also keep the horror aspects of legacy Dead by Daylight, like darker maps and limited aura reading? Its become an X Ray vision game of tag on bright maps, that is balanced heavily in favor of the chaser.

Well there are people who have fun against him, most of my matches I have no issues, so, you just want him nerfed because you personally don't have fun?
-1 -
Who are you even talking to, to tell you they have fun. Were you even watching the community stream? LOL yes a lot of people cling to ghoul like yourself, but lots despise them too, saying one side doesnt exist because of one person is ignorance.
You play against a dissolution or blood favor ghoul over and over, tell me its fun.1 -
Another useless update with no reasonable buffs for weak killers. This trickle feeding process is mentally exhausting.
Guess we'll see another set of buffs after 2 years?
