Diminishing Returns New Player Nightmare
Spookyloops made a really good point imagine your a new player to DBD you see these perks and those simplified descriptions and you run a build that gets diminished.
How are you genuinely supposed to know? Your 50% Sprintburst is now 10% being useless and you don't know why? How come while your picking your perks if any perks trigger diminishing returns is highlighted red to indicate your perks are weaker?
This is going to hurt the new players immensely

There's an explanation of the feature above the perk selection window that says so.

But it doesn't tie into or show what perks your picking if your a new player this would be extremely confusing still

I guess I'm looking at it from the POV of a longtime player, but it seems pretty intuitive what it would affect to me.
If not, they could repurpose the system they have to indicate event compatability to highlight what is and isn't affected.

It definitely needs to be implemented properly but I think adding a diminishing returns section to the tutorial explaining the mechanic in game would be sufficient coupled with the obvious perk highlights when you choose perks that activate diminishing returns. At least have a little faith in the company and try to find solutions vs just saying it's not going to work, I think the mass majority of us believe this is needed, like I've had multiple teams where swfs run 3 survivors with boon perks and 1 gen rusher and it's miserable as a killer, diminishing returns would benefit the killer in this scenario while still providing benefits to survivors just not so heavily handed if they chose to keep running that, it would also allow greater variation so that you don't constantly see the same perks every game.

Yeah I think that's what your seeing. I'm really just asking for it to be more clear Like if two perks or more perks are affected by diminish it's just highlight red and say diminished or something like that to be more understandable.

Diminishing Returns is a long term health change. Not an immediate impact change. Perks and powers need to be adjusted over time to fit into this new mechanic which ideally means overall buffs.
Its no secret that there is certain perks kept intentionally low in power because they're meant to synergize with another perk, or because a certain combo between perks would be too strong if one or the other was buffed.

No new player is going to equip a couple of Haste perks and think, "Hey, I'm only moving X% as fast as the perks said I should… I'm so confused! Spookyloops was riiiight!!!"
IF a "new" player even has the necessary perks… they're probably going to get ideas for builds from Otz and such, so they're not going to be paying attention to the exact ROI they're getting. They're just going to trust that it works. This is not an issue.
