To those of you who stand on hatch until observed...
What's wrong with you? I just had a girl crash out because I went to the bathroom during because I knew I wasn't going to find the hatch before the Kate that was left. When I came back I was confused because the match hadn't ended yet I was gone for 15 minutes. I wash my hands and pick up my controller and walk around for another five to find Kate still spamming crouch. They crashed out in the egc telling me that I wasted THEIR time. Genuinely what's wrong with these people?
BHVR should add a mechanic that pulls a survivor out if they spend a minute standing on hatch because it's ridiculous.
Not only that but I think survivors should have to do something to summon the hatch. It'd bypass the 2 v 1 issue people hate so much entirely

Most of the ones that stand on hatch have about enough patience for 3-5 minutes. Other than the old hatch standoffs that lasted hours, they may have set a new record lol

Tbf the team kinda threw themselves at the hooks which is why I wanted her to have hatch in the first place I was so confused why I was still in the match when I came back.

In today's episode of just leave.
I have no idea why so many survivors feel the urge to wait and teabag at the killer if they are in an exit gate or over hatch.
If the killer has played like a toxic pos then I kinda get it. But if survs have managed a landslide win and dominated the killer then doing this is real pathetic behaviour.
It is satisfying when you manage to catch someone unaware when they do this though lol. Nothing more satisfying than iri coin spearing someone with deathslinger while they're waiting to disrespect you.

This tells me that what actually happened was you slugged for the 4k, and that's what Kate meant by you wasting her time. It's also why she felt petty enough to stand there tbagging and wasting your time in turn (though for 15 min? I'm doubting that. The game will automatically DC the killer if left AFK for too long).
"Not only that but I think survivors should have to do something to summon the hatch"
Your gripe seems to be that hatch spawned at all, and that your slugging for the 4k didn't work out for you this time. Hatch is a means to end the game. As the devs have said previously, by all metrics a hatch escape is still a killer win. You won the game, she just got extra bloodpoints (hatch doesn't affect her MMR).

Realistically, how often does this actually happen?

This long not often. But people do stay on hatch till they're observed like they did something all the time.

It's hard not to assume when all you've done is complain about everyone else being toxic, which sounds more like a reflection on yourself, because this stuff never happens to me. If people are toxic to you every time you play, the problem is likely you. 15 minutes is an obvious exaggeration too.

20 Minutes in a match dude. I was gone for 15 and had to spend 5 trying to find her so I could see her because bagging was THAT important.

Brother, I’m not defending her. I’m just questioning whether it warrants this strong a reaction from you.

Some people just cant leave and have to wait to assert dominance huh, childish but still common even when I think this game is played more by adult people nowdays than 13 year olds.
Hate this or not but best is to just leave you dont waste time, nervs and can move on to other game which can be more fun or interesting than just camping hatch against sleeping killer like hatch stand offs are long time gone and this even wasnt the case because survivor is on it and this means its gg. Sometimes the situation doesnt mean leaving is best when like teammate than can be saved is there but this was something different theres no one to be saved or waited for and being there for 15 minutes which is another full game is total waste of time in my opinion.

Me when I make up stories on the Forums.

Everyone knows survivors can't escape without being observed by the killer. It's basic quantum survivor theory.

Made up or not, I do run across survivors like this from time to time. Before EGC some survivors will stay at the exit gate for just as long.

I wouldn't play that card when the "assumption" was that you knew something, but you do you, lol

I mean, the time is most likely made up. In 11k hours I have never seen a Survivor waiting so long before leaving either via Hatch or Exit Gates. That they wait, yes, 100% this happens (even if not all are doing it). But outside of Hatch Standoffs back in the day, I have not seen waste of time like this.

It is proper weird behavior to wait around on the hatch just leave so I say.
In terms of earning not the worst idea, we have all had those games were the person who contributed nothing to the game ends up getting hatch.0 -
Exactly this. I don't really see people having an incredible amount of patience and they're still very susceptible to mob mentality. If one Survivor escapes, they're more likely to follow suit. Not to say what OP experienced doesn't happen because it does, but I do think it's rare. And it's mostly just someone on an ego trip.
