Tryhard game in-lobby button indicator
I just had an idea I wanted to drop out here.
My idea is showing in the lobby before the game starts, a button that marks you as a "tryhard" that game, to show that you are going to take seriously so other can agree or not. I think this is solution to the different queues that other games have because it would be a pact between all the players in that single lobby.
At least 4 players must press this button to count as a "serious game" and you wouldn't see this button before picking high mmr.
In this way we still protect new players experience.
As you keep playing games, the system would detect what kind of player you are so it could make it more likely to encounter you with people of you game style.
Once the game detects it is a serious game, it could add some extra comp rules as no repeat perks.

Why would anyone click that Button? And not just join some Comp DBD Discords if they want to play more seriously?

Ehhh
Tryharding is subjective. Some people see it as running full meta and employing every dirty tactic, others see it as simply trying to win the game, even with a casual perk spread.
I also think the silly/friendly moments are more special when there's no initial indication that the killer is going to behave that way.6 -
Say it with me: ranked and casual playlist split.

I don't see how this would change anything. It would not stop anyone from "tryharding". If anything people would just avoid pressing the button so they don't possibly lose their build over restrictions.

Why would anyone ever click the “tryhard” button?

Wouldnt stop survivors from seeing the mere act of killing them as tryharding.
2 -
"Tryhards" would never click that button, because if there's one thing tryhards hate it's going against other tryhards

No one would ever click that button, in all seriousness

if you click that button, that'd mean you wouldn't want to go against farmers and bar tending cutie pies.
I don't think this function would be very helpful, but at least it'd be a vibe check.
id click it because I am Goku IRL

I would click the button to watch lobby dodgers for an hour.

Like others have said here already. The term "try hard" is subjective. Maybe some consider it running meta and being a sweat. Maybe some consider it doing w.e necessary to win, and maybe some view it as just being quite good at a certain or multiple roles (looping, doing gens, saving, etc). I also feel like this would just make it easier for survivors to troll others in solo queues or for killers to quickly find out that they mean business and resort to things like tunneling or slugging as a result. As a killer main if I know a group means business and intends to give me a run for my money I'll weed out the weakest link and hook or slug bait them to lure out the others for easier hooks on them.

I play the game to win (when I am not feeling like playing for boops or meme builds) but also try to be fair about it, but if I manage to get a 4K using a total end game build before the last generator is completed and you see I am a P100 Pig Main running Blood Warden, Remember Me, No Way Out, and Haywire mostly as a meme build joke I like to call my "Perkless Pig" build because of how often I am able to get a 4K before any of the perks activate, am I a tryhard? Like even my most "tryhard" build is a meme build.
