PTB confirmation
So can we get info on what's being pushed to live and what's being tweaked?
Is blight nerfs coming to live?
Are you giving additional buffs to the miniscule buffs you gave to killers
Is diminishing returns coming to live or being adjusted?

Hope that diminishing returns goes live so we can actually have strong off-meta perks.

There wont be any positive changes to this right away though. I personally think its a bad idea that it effects killer powers though
2 -
While yes it will be bad the time it gets added. It opens up the future to having better perks overall. Also yeah it shouldn't really affect killer powers as much.

I'm skeptical. stacking is already meme tier, and I don't see superior anatomy or xenos vault addon being buffed in any meaningful way to reach current values without just escalating power levels
7 -
IIRC it wont affect addons like vault or break speed. But haste stuff like from clown and skull merchant will. That means the set speed like Singularity and Houndmaster will be better off with those haste perks as those are a separate multiplier/set speed.

Yeah, I can't help but feel as though this is going to have the opposite effect of increasing the amount of meta perks being run, not the opposite.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's going to be years before anything is done to further on the concept they pitched with diminishing returns.

I'd like to know if and when they remember the Knotted Rope add-on exists.

Can't wait for the blight nerfs tbh. It's been so long...
I feel like a child waiting for Christmas presents. The final stretch feels like an eternity.

Yeah. Can only hope they use the opportunity they're giving themselves. Imagine a world where ghost notes on its own is actually good.

IMO even with diminishing returns, we wont have strong off-meta Perks. While I think that diminishing returns overall are healthy, I think hard caps would have been way better.
Because with diminishing returns you cannot buff Perks too much, because otherwise you end up at problematic values, even if one Perk is only 50% effective.
Hard caps on the other hand completely eliminate the possibility of Perk Combinations being too good. And they would have solved so much more and better than BHVRs solutions.

I saw mintskull testing it and as he showed stacking will be almost the same like you get off few % with dimishing returns which isnt that bad, if you dont believe me just go and watch it personaly I think its not bad change.
Except one catch and thats killer powers which shouldnt be included, killer powers shouldnt be even in my opinion effected negatively by perks like vigil against ghostface exposed or clowns hinder, freddys hinder etc. but thats something on the line for dev balance team to discover I just hope they are wiser than 8 years ago and things like massive pig nerf for no reason wont happen again but the reality of this is questionable.

The small problem with that is, what should the cap be?
I think several arguments could be created just about capping gen speed alone.

Of course, this is something which needs to be decided. But I was always of the opinion that Gens should not be done too quickly and also not take too long.
I remember before Thana was nerfed that there was a Build on Plague with Thana and Dying Light and Gens took like 3 minutes to be completed. This would be too long.
I also think that with Hard Caps they could have handled the Healing-Nerfs better. The problem was never that Survivors can heal each other quickly (e.g. We Will Make It exists for a long time and is totally fine, even when stacked with Medkits or Botany Knowledge). The problem was that Survivors were able to heal themselves with the old blue Medkit and certain Add Ons and Perks in 5 seconds.
The advantage with hard caps is simply that you can have individually strong Perks without it getting out of hand.
I mean, just look at Power of Two and Blood Pact for example. Those will be affected by Diminishing Returns, because it was 12% Haste if both were in play. With Diminishing Returns it will be 9,5% Haste (full effect of Blood Pact with 7% and 50% of Power of Two). But it would not be possible to buff both of those Perks, because at some point, even with one of them being at 50% you will end up at 12% Haste, which is deemed to much.
So even if we see Buffs to Perks due to diminishing returns, those are limited, since at some point you will hit the cap which made the Devs put in diminishing returns in the first place.

I just hope they implement diminishing returns in the right way, and not in the current way where it hurts niche builds for no good reason, because a diminishing returns mechanism can be implemented easily without having such negative side-effects
2 -
All diminishing returns will do is push meta perks even higher. Survivors can run whatever they want right now and will barely be affected. You can go perkless and escape simply because of bad map rng as survivor.

More importantly, are Legion still gonna be dead in a ditch come April 28th?
It's been so long that I'm even looking forward to getting dunked on repeatedly in 1V4 by Survivors way above my pay grade. Seriously, this a mode that I basically never play when 2V8 is live, that's how much I'm missing them.

They said he would be back with the next update, so the 28th is the day

Precisely why it shouldn't go live until its ready then. If it it "isn't good until other stuff gets changed" then why not wait to change those other things so that we can actually properly test it. Otherwise all the data will just be "it sucks"

I see it as. If it goes live as is we can see actual build diversity now while making stacking at the current level worse (even though it doesn't really change much unless you do a full dedicated build) or in other terms, I'd much rather rip the band-aid off sooner than later.

I know, but we all know BHVR can take their sweet time to fix bugs sometimes…
I've got all my fingers and toes crossed, anyway 🤞
Happy mending eve, everyone. Just one more sleep until they're back (hopefully).
