Rant: Myers is the most skillless and most unenjoyable killer to go against
I hate the rework. Old Myers was cool, scary, had identity and counterplay. New Myers has no counterplay, no identity, makes pallets useless, requires 0 skill and has an instadown pig dash that you can’t possible outplay without god loops which are not common on most maps. He doesn‘t even have to earn his op dash, just looking at someone for 5 seconds is enough. I had less people rage quit against prime ghoul than reworked Myers, who is so ######### insufferable to play against right now.

I totally agree. I was only thinking this today watching a YouTube video.
Not only does it feel awful to go against, it looks stupid AF. I've never seen Myers "dash" like that in any movie. It completely takes away from who Myers is.

I haven't played him since his rework. He lost his uniqueness as far as I'm concerned. I think I'm part of a minority though as he seems more popular post-rework.
12 -
True that.
He went from weak but unique to stronger but rigid to uncounterable.
It kind of feels unfair, since he can shred pallets (power or not, mind you, since he has a permanent +20% speed on breaks), instadowns and his stealth is on demand (which is not the issue, that is the fact he can sneak up, start tier 3 and lose minimal distance)
11 -
People play him for the sole reason of him being op. If he would require more effort, he would drop just like krasue.
11 -
I don't play him unless I use scratched mirror but that's an iri now.
Add-ons like that should be brown add-ons so you always can use them
7 -
I use reflective fragments thats the only time I have fun with him outside of tuft of hair since thats basically buffed old myers.
0 -
You are probably not wrong here.
I never played him after the Rework. I would even prefer the weak Myers before the Rework, obviously I never had the expectation that I will win easily with him (or win at all, lol), but at least he was more fun. Reworked Myers is just super boring to play.
And I think that even old Myers could have been saved without reworking him into something different.
15 -
The design is for T3 to be overpowered, as its a temporary state with a global "get the hell outta dodge" sound cue. I'm fine with that.
The problem is, most non-mirror Myers' I go against are pretty much permanently in T3, and when they are not, it is 99'd ready to proc in the next chase. The counterplay becomes 'Avoid the killer at all costs' which is essentially admitting that once he's found you, you're done.
Mirror Myers is legitimately fun to go against though. One of the very limited horror experiences in the game.5 -
Op? buddy chucky has more usefull dash than mayers in terms of getting value because mayers dash isnt that good unless loop you ran allows him to mindgame it as pig can if the loop is safer than he must try more but still droping pallet is what majority of people will do like against bubba or billy and mayers has pretty long slowdown after breaking with strike so its not so op as people say.
Changes made him stronger not more easier (logicaly he got easier because he become stronger) but mayers was always super easy killer to play as only thing that made him hard was that he was super weak unless purple tombstone wasnt equiped. Even when he is stronger he isnt like even a-tier tbh.
Krasue is still solid but doesnt allow naything fun for majority of people so thats why she is less played same with twins which are top 5 best killer in the entire game with one of strongest synergy to slugging which is strategy that counters majority of used survivor antitunnel perks or perks from hooks like dh,ds etc. but I dont see people use her because of how strong they are, or are you seeing them?
All that rework did was making him stronger and not addon dependent but good loopers can still wreck him its just all about loop lenght if its longer and rounded he just cant camp pallet with strike and make 50/50 like pig, and complaining against predroping like what do you do against bubba or billy? just the same thing you predrop, on top he doesnt have mobility like oni even when he can have more often power still he cant move super fast so he isnt op because op is someone on top of the tier list which mayers isnt he is like in middle.
Blight requires one of most efforts from all killers and still is in top 10 most played yo your logic kinda looses here.
-13 -
Yeah I feel if he couldnt shred pallets he'd be a lot more bareable.
9 -
He is pretty average. But he has the problem of most instadown killer. If someone cant loop, they die instantly. On top of that newer players struggle to see stealth killer, so they get completely destroyed.
I completely understand where its coming from. Im playing with two players which "only" have 100-200 hours and killer like Ghostface, Pig or Myers are completely op for them. Other killer with weird counterplay mechanics like Houndmaster or Pinhead are also a problem. The gap between experienced players and newer/weaker player is just hard to breach without making one side suffer.
For Myers: prerunning makes it easy, dont shy away from dropping pallets (i see so many matches where good pallets never get dropped, for what? For the next game?), throw windows in the mix. Its kinda similar to Bubba. Stronger, but on a timer.
3 -
Yeah I can't stand him now. He's so uninspired. I'll still play him, but only as Scratched Mirror.
6 -
This happens when they make reworks without giving the slightest consideration to the survivors' feedback.
This new Myers is one of the most brain-dead things I've ever seen—an uncounterable dash-slop instakill because most of the loops have been reduced to the length of a bench, and on top of that, he doesn't even have to worry about the already unsafe pallets.
Is T3 over? No problem, just wait 10 seconds and start over.
There’s basiclaly no chase; it’s just a guy spamming lunges at random while you drop pallets like a noob, hoping to land the stuns—otherwise, that's on you.13 -
I've been saying this since they heavily buffed the dash attack. Not overpowered but extremely unengaging as it's predrop pallet or die. The visuals like the glowing knife and animations are also just bad. The dash rework was bound to fail.
10 -
Keep it real, most survivor players are only having an "enjoyable" time if the killer isn't challenging and can barely do anything to get you.
-15 -
I really hate going against new Myers. I agree he’s pretty braindead and seems like the only skill required is “press button to instadown”. I still haven’t figured out a good way to counter him - maybe I need to watch some people who are good against new Myers to learn.
-1 -
This is just nonsense to say something like this. There are plenty of examples where strong Killers are fine to go against and weak players are a pain to go against.
E.g. you will not really find people who say that Skull Merchant is fun to go against. Or Trapper. And those are weak Killers. On the other end of the spectrum you dont see many people complaining about Dracula or Billy, who are both very strong Killers.
Just boiling it down to "Survivors want ez wins" was wrong years ago and whoever says this in 2026 has no clue at all.
8 -
Still can't believe the guy known for walking faster than you can run has a 12 meter dash.
1 -
I'll never understand why Myers was reworked in the first place.
We are no strangers to terrible reworks. Even the word "rework" is a bad omen. But Myers was almost universally agreed to be one of the most thematically perfect killers in the game.
18 -
I'll never understand why Myers was reworked in the first place.
Honestly, I think the main reason why they shoehorned this Rework in (if I remember correctly, it wasnt even on a Roadmap), was because they lost the license. And with the Rework and making Myers like he is, they ensured that basically everyone would buy the Killer before he leaves DBD.
And they also could go crazy with the Rework, because what would the license holders do if they dont like it? Take away the license?
But yeah, thematically he was very fitting and now he does not fit at all. And I repeat, I am very sure that his original concept could have been buffed without issues.
1 -
I genuinely dislike Myers more than current ghoul.
maybe not as much as release ghoul, but this is where I'm at with shape guy.
4 -
Nonsense? Ha.
As if it doesn't reflect in community reception across multiple platforms when a new killer that isn't garbage is introduced or when a previously weaker killer is no longer a meme?
-2 -
He doesn‘t even have to earn his op dash, just looking at someone for 5 seconds is enough.
Looking a someone for 5 sec is something. Old Myers didn't have a dash, but he didn't need to charge up to down you either. You could down a whole team with normal M1 and bloodwipe cooldown.
Playing Myers, I'm contantly seeing survivors just stand there staring a me as though I'm ghostface. Feeding Myers seems to be a bigger issue than dealing with the power.
5 -
I think in solo queue, survivors just can't be arsed with Myers. We're all sick of the dash slop bs. If I see one person doing it, I'm more than happy to join in and end it early.
-1 -
That may very well be the case, my friend.
Still, what an awful send-off. Going from a killer with thematic excellence to what can only be described as actual dashslop.
7 -
I think giving Myers a dash is really silly. Akin to giving Pinhead a dash. But even beyond that, it's a "pre-drop or die" instadown. Doesn't leave a lot of room for skill expression or agency on the survivor side. There's one correct thing to do (pre-drop) if the Myers is any good, and you're going down instantly if you don't do it.
12 -
I agree. Myers should not be a dash killer. They can keep all the other changes but slaughtering strike was a big mistake imo
14 -
This, experienced players have maybe even less issues than with previous version with tombstone but he is now just better noobstomper like many other weaker/mid killers are like pinhead, experienced survivors will have with him way less troble than with chucky or clown.
1 -
Whats that hard? Its just hide untill he powers up and then when he is in evil incarnate mode just hold W and go for stronger safer loops he cant mind game easily with dash, predrop when its needed just like against bubba or billy, powered oni nothing special here.
Holding W+shift is like counter for more than half of the killers in this game the slower the killer is without mobility he can control the harder time he has dealing with holding W and mayers isnt exception here either.

Shape is a shell of his former self, the worst case scenario of a killer rework is character assasination. Sure he basically works the same with the stalking but when has he EVER dashed at someone faster than the average persons running speed with enough force to break a giant plank of wood? In the first movie Laurie ran from one house to another, fumbled at the doors and Michael still didnt catch her but yet that very same Michael is reworked to be super fast with his attacks for NO REASON other to make him another dash killer because everybody plays them when all he needed was BUFFS. The cherry on top is after nearly TEN YEARS when Freddy and Sadako are reworked multiple times the one time BHVR decides to do something major with Shape its pretty much at the last minute and a couple months later he and Laurie are gone from the game. What a disrespectful treatment of one of horrors most iconic slashers.

So do killers only have an enjoyable time if the killer is braindead easy to get wins on?
12 -
Against noobs/casuals or survivors that know what they are doing? Because that list of easy to win killers is long with the former.
-6 -
I never thought I would want tombstone Myers back.
7 -
Even if they got rid of that he still has basekit fast kicks, add-ons to kick faster and perks to make kicks even faster. People will just move from one thing to the next
6 -
Well devils advocate his design was very outdated and bad I think the mistake was Slaughtering strike itself. Myers being able to enter in and out of stealth was actually a great change in my opinion. So it's not like the rework was all bad
6 -
Ghoul exists so yes but fr though I've been seeing a pattern where new killers and reworks designs are very easy where the skill floor is significantly raised and the ceiling low.
The next problem is Devs ain't gonna do anything about it because since they see no problem with this since they confirmed they ain't gonna do anything about Ghoul and even though his pickrate is astronomically high since his kill rate is "okay" they don't care even when majority agrees Ghoul is miserable to play against.
Now Myers since he has way less pickrate and even less Kill rate Devs ain't gonna bother at least not for a year or 2 since they see the rework as a success.
3 -
I'd say Springtrap and Henry weren't like that. Springtarp is fine, and Henry takes some effort. Krasue, at least, got nerfed. So it's a mix with the newer ones.
I'd like to see Ghoul's real numbers, with the DC matches included. The numbers we've seen are probably only half his matches, if even. The DCs with him are off the charts. That alone should tell them enough. But even what we've seen is concerning. He was the only killer with both a higher KR and a high pick rate. It's not mains or skilled players carrying the numbers, it's everyone doing well.
Pretty glad I don't see many Micheals anymore though, which is a shame.
4 -
I'd argue his dash is better than Chucky's.
It's quieter, much easier to control, shreds pallets and instadowns.
Yes, Chucky can chain windows and pallets but how many maps realistically allow that? Lèry's and Greenville if we are being generous.
5 -
While the word "outdated" is not really the ideal way to describe old him, you are right. Stealth being a toggleable choice was good, same with the buffs for Tier 2. The rest.... awful.
2 -
Theres sound cue on both but thing is chucky is smaller and more mobilewhile he is using his dash. Another thing is chucky doesnt slown down that much and survivors are more careless because they dont go down on single strike which in surprise often means they go down faster against chucky than against mayers where they play safe and predrop more same as billy vs blight you would be surprised how more careless even good survivors are when facing blight compare to billy.
Scamper isnt that good unless survivor vaults and runs in straight like but even in corridors where isnt much space to doge they can just vault and stay on corner of dropped pallet or window and chucky cant do a thing just end his dash so this fearure only works against lesser skilled survivors which have less experience about what they can do against him.
Mayers slows down way more then chucky when charging his strike and doesnt gain much distance in short time especialy when turning around objects due to his thicker model but chucky doesnt slowdown much and has full dash distance after charge, only thing mayers has better are versitility and lethality but thats it even very good survivors still put them both somewhere in the middle of tier list and often put chucky above reworked mayers.
-1 -
Springtrap is ok, Henry I don't count cause he takes decent effort and isn't as simple compared to ghoul, Krause I'd say is still simple and strong she's just boring to play that's why we don't see her often so im guessing devs are just shelfing her. But yeah we need to see the ghouls other numbers
2 -
Myers dash is better then Chuckys. Unrestricted turning, is an insta down, Faster, can break pallets, he's pretty much just the Oni. Also isn't Chucky 110% move speed? I geuss just him being small means he has to be slow af
5 -
Yeah the meyers rework is straight up no fun to play against. That lunge is heinous. Old meyers was a bit weak and needed a buff but this wasn't it.
7 -
Old Myers needed a buff, that’s for sure. But the rework is horrible to go against. If you’re being chased by him and hear the T3 sound cue, you have two options: accept your fate and hope that you last longer than 10 seconds, or, drop every pallet in site which he will just shred through and use all valuable resources in a short space of time.
His rework is also remarkably discordant to his actual lore. At least old Myers was lore accurate.
5 -
He is now the only licensed killer that I dislike to go against (except if he's running Mirror or Hair, which means he doesn't have this stupid dash).
EDIT: Ops. Forgot our friendly neighbor braindead Kaneki. He too.Post edited by The_Count on0 -
He never was weak, thanks to some of his addons.

Fellow Scratched Mirror here 🔎. I completely agree! 👍️

I miss my old Myers…
The most annoying part of the new Myers is how fast he gets to his T3. Especially in late game scenarios.
Okay guys.
Gates are open we wait till Myers loses T3 snatch last man from hook and escape. Easy plan….
Myers loses T3
Okay now go in!
1 second later
And… he is T3 again…
3 -
"Rework" Is a word that should not be said around these parts. lol
That word always leads to bad roads.
1 -
Oni? what you cooking oni has more range and speed, mayers has massive slowdown when he is charging dash and even when he doesnt have turn rate limit he still needs charge more when using it around obstackles because of killers thick character model which is a thing chucky doesnt suffere from and doesnt loose distance as mayers, only thing that makes mayers better are some addons but without them he isnt busted juts mediocre or high b-tier at best.
