A bizarre discovery (Long post, TL;DR below)
Back when DbD was new, My killer main was Nurse. I played her relentlessly for months, got good enough to have fun and take up any challenge the survivors threw my way, and life was… somehow… bad.
I didn't know what was wrong, but any time I queued up to play Nurse, I felt the most intense Anxiety, and it got to the point that I couldn't stand it anymore. Just the act of selecting her and clicking the search lobby button had me tensing up with stress, which I didn't get with any other killer, so after having enough, I stopped playing her all together. Even years later, if I ever queued up as her for old times sake, I'd play maybe 1 or 2 matches, and it was all I could take before I moved on to someone else.
As mentioned, I never got this level of stress queuing up as any of the other killers until I played Artist, and so, a couple of weeks after her release, I stopped playing her too. I figured that like Nurse, Artists skill ceiling must've been too high for me, or there's something in her mechanics that caused my anxiety, despite the fact that I can play other high skill ceiling killers like Singularity with ease, but it turns out I've been wrong all this time.
Todays they released the Collector's Curse skin for Nurse, and I was amazed by it so much, that I get the premium pass, and despite my trepidation of playing Nurse again after all this time, I was eager to give it a go even if only for a couple of rounds. The skin is amazing, no doubt, and it will be worth tiering up in the rift to try and get the other 2 recolors, but here's the thing: I've been playing Nurse for Hours using the new skin… with no anxiety at all.
After I realized this, I was completely shocked that I was having so much fun again, but didn't understand why. Then after taking a small break to calm down and think about it, there's only 1 explanation for why she doesn't bother me anymore: Her vocal noises.
This skin, as far as I know, is the only skin for Nurse that features a completely different set of sounds that are much lower in tone, volume, and lot less screechy. I decided to test this theory by going back to my old favorite skin for her, and sure enough, 2 matches in and I was grinding my teeth feeling stressed again, but I go back to the new skin and bam… Anxiety is gone! This also kinda makes sense for me when it comes to Artist too, as she's always making high pitched screechy noises, so maybe all I need to do for her is get a less high pitched skin as well.
I know this is a Bizarre conclusion/discovery, but is anyone in the same boat as me regarding Nurses Screeching, and undue amounts of stress it causes? I'm still trying to wrap my head around this TBH, and am just wondering If I'm not alone.
TL;DR:
Turns out, Nurse's vocal noises have been giving me anxiety for years (Artist too), forcing me to stop playing her, but the new skin changed all that, and now I can play Nurse again Anxiety free! I'm confounded by this discovery tbh. Anyone else have the same issue?

The Leshen from the witcher might be deeper toned enough to not have anxiety with artist. As that, and the Jabberwocky are both legendaries with different, deeper sound effects.
