Keep Killer.
Manchildren will kick and scream typing in all caps or saying whatever dumpster words come to mind regardless of killer being there in the EGC or not.

So you want to exclude on side of the player base for no good reason? Not a good idea if you try to fight toxicity.

consider the 'close chat feature' as an alternative to isolating a portion of the playerbase.
also, how does this address overall toxicity with other players? last time i checked, this issue exists with both roles because people are the issue, not the role itself.

Get rid of killer.
i think that the entirity of my point is nullified. Considering that almost every icon identifying someone is a killer icon or killer perk icon. It seems that killers want to trash talk survivors no matter what. But this is dbd forums.

???? where did you even get this from
at this point i'd agree that your point is nullified because of this response. frankly, i think people who encourage tribalism should lose the ability to communicate alongside people who encourage toxicity on all platforms.

Why do you presume that someone that has a killer icon only wants to be in the chat to talk trash?
That says way more about you than it does any of us.2 -

You're complaining about "Them vs Us" while making a suggestion that is solely "Them vs Us".
Really BHVR needs to implement a feature to chat restrict players, but this would also mean they would need to take action on end game chat toxicity.

You're reducing people's opinions because of their generic, preset pfp choices? Come on, man, that's silly. That's as us vs them as it gets.
I'm dead silent as killer unless the survivors say something first. I do all the trash talking as survivor, and most of what I see is survivors bickering amongst one another. I also have regular positive interactions with opponents. Killers being openly toxic in chat is actually the rarest thing I see.

The answer to toxicity is seldom disclusion of the party. As a Killer Main I seldom encounter killers who are toxic but I entirely believe they exist. I regularly get told downright illegal things from survs in end-game chat however. But Lo', on yon horizon what light doth break : there is already a solution for that. It's the report function.
If it's as simple as someone saying 'EZ' riling your jimmies, which I admit gets mine at times, may I suggest a prescription dosage of welcometotheinternetrin? In seriousness, it's the internet. People are seldom as kind as they ought be behind a veil of anonyminity. This is the sort of thing you need to get used to, rather than just deeming the party you don't like yourself as being invalid of communication and therefor unworthy of it.
If they say something heinous, report them.
If they say something annoying, close the window.
Just type GG and leave. No one is holding you hostage save for your knee-jerk expectation. Don't rage-bait yourself. If the game was toxic, don't stay to confirm the existence of the poison in the EGC.1 -

I think that the outcome of this is clear. And I understand the view points. Question asked and question answered. Thanks for the replies.
