Decade of Killers (and Survivors right?)
Hopefully the decade of killers banner doesn't hint at yet another killer centric event mode and everyone has fun things to do in the upcoming anniversary, survivors included.
Given the current game behavior of letting a lot of killer hits go through thrown pallets, party pallets would be even less useful for survivors than they already are. I would say remote hooks are a strong killer mechanic but apparently a lot of killers can't be bothered to hook anymore because they'd prefer parts of the game that challenge them simply not exist. More status effects that suppress terror radius and red stains - this is my surprised face.
Oh, survivors might get a blood point bonus? Swell.
I know better than to ask for anything that would positively affect survivor match outcomes. Even something event limited, boring, but strong like a few seconds of activatable endurance (old styptic) or like 5 seconds of invisibility would have content creators reaching for their fainting couches. Maybe you could make slugs bleeding out spray some confetti. That would be fun.

Surprise, the new event has no hooks and is only slugging with no abandon option. Happy anniversary!
Would be cool if we got a survivor banner too though. But the most based thing they could do would be individual banners for everyone.

It could be in the event quests rewards.

Hopefully it'll roll out later. Would be weird not to do it.

I would chalk it up to the killer's being more recognisable and visually distinct than than a group of 10 people

were you not here for the snowman-pocalypse of the past?

Except having both would have detracted nothing from it. Would have been nice to celebrate the survivors too of the fog

that would have been smarter on their part, true

Literally this. The Survivor role is a huge part of DBD but it effectively plays the same sans perk variation. The variety and uniqueness of DBD (for the most part) is who the Killer is and what map you're on. As much as I'd love to see Alan and Ash rub shoulders with Adam, Haddie, and Taurie, the visual design and clarity of the Killers with unique artists per drawing is so much more interesting.
Not everything is Us Vs. Them, OP.

The games draw are its killers. As and against.

I feel it's also because the survivor animations and models for Licensed characters are more often than not unappealing, Claire Redfield's hands are still broken, when you point as her she has claw hands etc. Not to mention shoulders still collapse and dislocate despite being "fixed".
Leon with his perfectly circular open mouth and vacant lifeless stare, another character people would love to play as but just looks really wierd in the game. If they put half the effort into what they do for Killer designs people would be really happy to play as their fav horror icons.
Also I'd like to point out Heather (Cheryl) is so busted looking they wouldn't even use her against her own killer. Yet for some reason used Legally distinct ripley for Xenomorph.5 -
In defense of Ellen "not Sigourney" Ripley, they're using the comic likeness sorta because of the way Weaver feels IRL about violent video games IIRC. It's unfortunate but I'll take whatever Final Girl rep we can get.

Yeah I knew about Sigourney but I didnt know about the comic look, still is odd, it's more like it's odd they chose her but not the others. if her eyes were just not like wide open she'd probably look a lot better, maybe it's a bug in game like it was for Ada. It's mainly her eyes lol
this is how they think she looks
This is how she looked in match, when I used to play as her I dont have old creenies but her lobby animation seems to have been tidied up the eyes dont seem as wide open as before. Or I'm just misremembering and it's in game only

There are 52 survivors and the only difference between them is appearance. Killer's are unique, the game is built around them. That isn't a dig on survivors or how survivors play.

Oh no that's not what I'm really getting at, I'm on about the survivors who've came in are just as iconic if not more than some licensed killers.
Like I get what you are saying, but there is nothing stopping them from giving the survivors more unique animations and emotes and the like to make them FEEL like the character you are playing. rather than just an outfit.2 -
survivors can’t bother to learn the counterplay for skull merchant and ghoul because it challenges them, so they dc.
See how incredibly dumb that sounds?
Slugging is part of the game, gen speed, second chance, slow down, tunneling, exhaustion perks are all part of the game. Stop with the double standards and being mad at one side for using one of these mechanics while you abuse the same mechanics on the other end.

Skull Merchant was genuinley an issue back before the 3 gen prevention, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing her 2 scanlines come back with the current changes to see how she does especially now the window tech with the claw trap is gone.
Ghoul on the other hand, you can learn that counterplay all you want, bamboozle + Dissolution on them has zero counterplay, revault the pallet, get downed, try to play around a window: get bit or blocked off and go down.
sorry if you meant it more as a joke, it's just. I'd not mind Skully being buffed and Ghoul getting some changes to make them more fun to play against honestly.2 -
I feel like Nic Cage was a great example. He’s a pretty iconic actor, and his voice lines felt really unique for him. Jamie Lee Curtis is just as much of an icon as Michael. She is THE scream queen. I agree that some survivors can be just as iconic as their killers.

I agree with you on the dissolution, bam/centipede front.
They’re incredibly strong on him, when I do play ghost I don’t run them.
And for skull merchant yeah 1.0 chess merchant was an issue, i was mainly thinking about post rework and people still dc-ing against chase merchant, or laser tag merchant.

Still extremely unfair that these players who straight up refused to learn a simple, intuitive counterplay, got what they wanted in the end.

Yeah, I will admit I was one of the ones who said I didn't like her (mainly the 3 genning), but I didn't think she'd be made useless. Originally I was optimistic the changes would be better in game than it is on paper.
She is kind of in the same bin with Invocations/teamwork/overture of doom perks etc. That health initiative really should have been spending time making these things more viable and healthier for the game.0
