How to counter play Ghoul?

I feel like this killer is incredibly hard to play against, great map traversal, great chase power. I try to break line of sight or play around pallets but nothing seems to work and they can snowball really well. What are some tips to play against this killer? What kind of tiles should I be trying to run towards and loop around?

force him to break pallets, it puts his power on cooldown. you need to run pallet>pallet, camp them and drop to force him to put his power on cd so you can reach the next.

if he uses his power to vault, you need to turn around and vault the pallet yourself whilst hes animation locked so you end up on different sides.

do not heal, basically ever. theres a few circumstances where being healthy is maybe important, but as a rule the fact the power is pretty much unavoidable free damage means that every heal is just wasted gen time.

There is counterplay, as previous commenter detailed, but it is incredibly unfun and boring. Ghoul is a scourge to this game and is even more unfun and boring than Legion to go against, amazingly.

Similar to legion really just a bit harder, ghouls will always get super easy hits on healthy survivors so healing is a bit of a waste of time. The main thing is juicing chase as hard as possible while injured, your pathing is very important, making sure you stay withing spitting distance of a pallet when they use traversal to get close so you can drop the pallet to delay them. Loop on safe palletswhile their leap is on cool down and use unsafe pallets just to buy enough time to reach a stronger tile.

    Alright.

    1. Body block the pallets that's most important one I think. Just stand in a middle of the pallet so he can't block it for you. Make sure to listen to sound que when he turns of his power. Little teeth icon shows up when he is aiming at you with the power.
    2. If Kaneki want's to grab you through vault locations and you are not marked you can stand in front of a vault and get hit by the mark - he won't jump there. It gets you distance when he is locked in the animation and needs to vault after you.
Be careful - this doesn't apply to his first dash.
    3. If you're healed: don't drop pallets and hug everything tight.
    4. If ghoul wants to vault the pallet after you - vault it. Be careful tho, good ghouls might fake the power.
    5. If Ghoul succesfully vaults after you, vault the pallet back.
Careful tho, you can't just stand in place, if you do vaulting will not be available. Probably turning around will work.

Kaneki is very popular, you can assume you will go against him and use build that will increase your chase time a little.
My everyday build is Dead Hard + Resilience + Made For This + Decisive Strike with Med-kit.

Bonus tip: for all the DH + medkit users.
Do 99 heals. When ghoul notice you being unhealed, he will jump and try to m1 you.
You heal when he does that and he uses regular M1.
You will have DH available for your chase.

Note: You can't make a lot of distance when he break the pallet.
Cooldown isn't that long. Keep that in mind.

If you play correctly he feels more like m1 killer really. It's sad that so many people choose to DC against him.

In rounds that ive won against him, stealth with lockers when hes hooking, stops him from zooming across the map to you before you can fart. And when in you are stuck in chase, pallets have to be used with precise timing or you wont make it to the next loop.

drop the palette and press W. With this tactic, you can counter all the killers in the game.

The problem isnt difficulty, its the fact that hes bugged and has never been fixed regardless of the "balancing" patches, same bugs since release where the killer hits you through walls, corners, rocks, you name it.

Anybody that has the minimum experience playing him can get a "free hit".

You cant outrun him but it stops him for short time, dont forget his vault got way weaker because it cant damage you and you can vault back through him.

eh idk, i think its worth to heal. it makes getting cut off not a death sentence and trades 32 seconds for a sprint burst.

Definitely heal if you're a weak looper or the resources have been consumed. If you have heal speed then that's even more incentive.

never healing is more for the Resilience MFT types

if ghoul is hard commiting to chase then maybe heal, but if he's spreading injuries with hit-n-run then healing will 100% lose you the game

if i'm playing ghoul and survs are healing then keeping everyone injured is my top priority, it means nobody is on gens
