dstrike, unbreakable . you surely have used this combo or played against it. there was a time where this got named the small pp build . throw in some exhaustion perk or other for the team perk and you got some strong build.

yes dstrike isnt that strong anymore but would you consider this combo still the smoll pp build or does it need other perks to be worthy of that name.

    Definitely not.

The big central issue with DS/UB/DH/IW as a build (which was the full "small pp" build) was the combo of DS and UB gave the killer three options that were all losses.

If a survivor with DS active got in your face, then you could ignore them… and they'd do gens in your face.

You could down them and slug them… and they'd use UB to get back up and get on gens.

You could down them and pick them up… and they'd hit you with DS.

Add in the two other universally applicable and strong meta perks (one of which was the most broken single perk in the game's history) and you've got a build worthy of derision.

These days survivors don't really have anything that'll force that sort of lose/lose/lose scenario, let alone to that extent.

Theres still lose lose setups, they're just changing. DS+plot twist for example has changed it to eat the DS or let this guy heal himself. Its at least not AS rough though since it doesnt help guarantee safety on gens.

Or, wild idea - dont go after the recently unhooked Survivor. I know, crazy. (Or just tunnel through the DS and get a good laugh at this mighty Anti-Tunnel Perk)

the modern day small pp build is probably hyperfocus + stake out + no chase perks. player who gen jockeys, hides, dies in chase in 10 seconds, and then gets mad. real small pp energy

i honestly feel like it takes more balls of steel to get off DS without making your entire survivor team hate you

No, DS now deactives when working on a gen so this crucial aspect of the combo is dead. DS stun is weaker as well so it is not worth to use up your "last ace up my sleeve" tool on it. It can be useful if you are dead on hook and the tunneling killer wants to outwait DS.

To add salt to the wound, many killers have mobility tools and can afford to leave you slugged while they focus on someone else, so forcing small pp build is just not worth it.

New small pp build is Plot Twist and DS, cause you are forcing the killer to either eat DS or have fully healed survivor. Not to mention greater potential for pallet saves with SwF.

Its not tunneling to find someone who downed themself... its ALSO generally not considered tunneling to pressure someone who is progressing the game. Every other self heal falls into the category of conspicuous actions for that reason. If you selfcare in the corner after unhook, somehow thats different than if you plot twist in the corner after unhook.

Either way, the point wasn't to dictate if its strong or weak, just that it IS a lose lose. Im not allowed to stop that self heal without getting hit by a DS...
