Brother can we be serious, survivor footsteps are near inaudible compared to killers especially in chase (it's the exact reason why certain killer undetectable is just useless because you can hear them from a mile away). Grunts of pain, scratch marks, blood pools are the main way to hear survivors, elusive removes all of that.

Yes obviously on a car loop where you can just stare at the killer and the killer can stare at you that's not going to work, the argument is for loops that break LoS.

I personally want the perks to be fun, not overpowered, this isn't stopping the killer from hitting you or using your power to get you, not to mention killer instinct still procs on elusive doesn't it? So it's not as bad as you make it out to be.

Killer instinct is tied to very specific things that don't really just randomly trigger in chase, most info perks in chase are aura perks which shocker! Elusive counters that too.

Yes you can still physically hit survivors, that's not the point. The point is that elusive is too strong of a status effect to just be giving out willy nilly, you can straight up just disappear from a loop with no effort.

Edit: And you people can keep downvoting I don't care, this website is an echo chamber cesspool of survivor players who can't admit when things are overtuned and in favor of them.

Obvious sock puppeting aside, this is a pretty low way of throwing back what amounts to "Nuh uh," just wrapped up in morally sanctimonious wording.

Don't tell people to work on themselves when you clearly just want to say something that gets under their skin. It's two-faced and insincere.

I'm just going to say you're getting mad at the equivalent of a fogvial going off mid chase and the survivor chasing you… without the fog. LOL

Us vs Theming doesn't make your point better either, I'm just of the opinion I'd rather see perks on live before giving my full opinion honestly, coz PTB isn't always the best for it.

most killers dont have killer instinct.

the game was not made to rely soley on foot steps. they ARE useful absolutely, but when your in chase you have loud ass chase music blaring in your ears and it covers up foot steps a bit. furthermore, not everyone has good quality directional speakers that can be sueful to tell the direction. and on high loops, survivors will be out of eye sight where with all the cues you already have to make guesses that may not be right and many loops can have multiple exit points and so some killers or people may be less impacted by others, being able to absurdly extend chase if your a decent survivor by constantly making killers second guess and disoriented and losing time in a game that often doesnt give you much time to work with anyways.

it should NOT work in chase.

and especially on maps with poor visibility, like lerys where there is a ton of different directions you can run to or the cornfield or swamp map where visbility is bad all over and having zero cues to work off of means maintaining a chase will often just come down to luck because when you lose sight of a survivor and you have zero information to go off of there are almost always going to be multiple different direction they could have gone. and while i didnt play the PTB i have seen comments where killers are completely losing the chase multiple times in a match.

The game is designed for chases to work via tracking in order to maintain it. the game was not built for you to get to work soley of of footsteps and footsteps alone. and having it so that every single chase you have the survivor will ALWAYS gain complete invisibility if they are not in your LOS and did a single loop on a tile is not how the game nor killers were designed to work and take down surivors.

i dont think people understand how utterly disrienting having to locate survivors who dont leave tracks are like otr is really hard. you might hear some footsteps but that doesnt mean its easy to identify exactly where they are and precicely what direction they are going especially in areas that are complex and its not simple i go right or left. so to have this happen potentially in every single chase in a game if survs all run it, is one of the most unenjoyable experiences in the game i can imagine and thats before all the other factors come in to play when you do down someone, the invsible flashlight saves and other survivor safety perks and tactics. its just way too much with this added on.

the perk is fine if its not able to be used while the killer is in chase by the person being chased. and i say this as a survivor player that prefers stealth and use lightweight on every single build.

It blows my mind that people can post objective, and factual information and then still proceed to get triple the downvotes compared to upvotes.

It’s no wonder the devs make awful decisions if all they see positive reinforcement on is just blatantly wrong/misleading posts.

I actually think it sounds interesting, especially with Jason's Silent Shadow in play. It'll make chases alot more fun that's for sure. I think more elusive and undetectable perks will help give the game a bit more of that horror feel that alot of people think is missing. No red stain or scratch marks, just chase.

Claiming a perk to be OP while using actual gameplay and evidence to support it being OP are two very different things.

And there wasn’t as big a concern with Henry perks because they’re mostly fine and I think the fact that killer players are so jaded from garbage perks they’re happy with any perk that actually usable that’s not the same DMS/pain res build they’ve been running for years.

Someone already linked the JC vid. And I’m sure there’s more out there by now

and it depends what killer youre playing and what maps you were getting. If You’re playing a no mobility M1 killer cross examination hurts way more than if you were playing someone with an instant down.

yeah I did, and I don’t understand how the examples were bad?
most of them he either got hit and used the speed boost to lose chase because the killer didn’t know where he went or he used broke LoS using a pallet or lithe and left the loop while the killer would still be looping like a fool.

I also wouldn’t call someone choosing to play sadako as a main, entitled. As she’s very exploitable survivors can literally turn off her power
it’d be a different story if all he did was play S tiers, I mean he plays ghoul occasionally , but I wouldn’t call ghoul S tier more is like top of A

for the rpd one, he could’ve gone 3 different ways yeah he saw general direction at first but now has to guess as soon as Los breaks

For the Springfield one he gets elusive at the bottom of the stairs, Jason would’ve seen a blop on scratch marks on the door way and they could’ve gone anywhere.

The Greenville one is cut pretty short but jc is on death hook and Jason would very likely want him dead trying to spear him through the window, he wouldn’t of seen the scratch marks doubling back and only saw Lisa’s, additionally he could’ve ran back shack and Jason wouldn’t have known.

your reasoning for ward is pretty fair so I won’t bother disagreeing.

But also these examples aren’t even taking into the background footage outside of his one clip segment. Additionally to reiterate the perk isn’t just problematic because it’s strong; it’s strong on top of once again another case of power creep, that continues to hurt low tier killers with no regard for how affects them, can’t wait to have to play ghostface chasing literal ghosts while still having to kick 24 pre dropped pallets thanks to SB run to yellow meta.

And it’s still so dumb how bhvr put cross examination, scared to death and rampage in the same patch and said ‘yeah this is fine’

but he also stated that because of the Gen split it forced him to play sweatier or he’d lose.

He doesn’t want a 3 gen so he can win harder.

He just wanted a decent gen split so he wouldn’t have to sweat he balls to win and importantly a fun game. And I don’t see the issue with that. For a game with no competitive queue and no tangible rewards for winning why should the default be sweat or lose? His main problem with that match aside from having to sweat to win was that it wasn’t even fun, for him or the survivor, especially that poor elodie

For a majority of the killer roster, and depending on your personal skill, you HAVE to sweat to win. For survivor you can play half asleep while high and still get consistent escape if you’re not unlucky enough to play against a crack addict nurse or blight.

And I’m sure at the MMR that content creators are at it’s even worse for them.

Rpd - did the killer even try though? The clip cuts so quickly we don't know

Springwood - if JC had not gone back into the building he wouldn't have gotten elusive, the killer didn't turn around after following and just continued on their merry way, skill issue or choosing to do something else

Greenville - if the killer didn't see JC go into shack they are blind

I feel for the lower tiers, I really do, but the balance issues surrounding them are a thing with or without this perk.

I think it’d be 10x better if the killer could see the light marks or so kinda indicator or something, that may be too much visual overload, but especially that spring wood clip wouldn’t happen if killers could see the marks.

I do wish we got to see more of the clips though you’re 100% correct on that, especially for rpd and Greenville, because yeah Jason totally saw him run to shack (if the weapon wasn’t blocking it), but I want to know if the elusive made a significant difference when jc doubles back away from shack because Jason seemingly just continued on in Lisa direction.

But that kinda ‘why bother’ attitude around lower tiers is how we ended up in this fix and it’ll just keep getting worse util we stop adding more to the pile, fixes for the low end need to happen yesterday, for both sides

honestly this whole situation probably wouldn’t be bad if the anniversary wasn’t so… I guess lackluster?
maybe if there was more perk changes people wouldn’t be so fixated on the only things we did get.

Like I bet if bhvr launched this event with a brand new map and the survivor at the same time as Jason along with balancing changes we wouldn’t even see talk about cross examination until at least a week or two after the chapter went to live.
instead we’re getting the full drama just days after the ptb dropped.
