The Ghoul is fine?
I used to despise this killer with my heart, i could not play against it, and i hated ghoul mains. However i decided to buy this killer just to see and prove how braindead this killer was, and honestly. i was pretty wrong, there is counterplay, and ways you can fail with this killer. Playing the killer is a new way of looking at it. I have respect for people who dedicate their time to this killer now.
EDIT: i just posted this and someone already downvoted…

All correct.
He's annoying though.5 -
oh for sure i just have a new way of looking at it now

Snark aside, I've long argued the problem with Ghoul isn't his strength, it's the feedback.
Getting bitten by him just sucks, there's no two ways about it. The game sets the interaction up like there's a level of outplay, but it's an interaction that if you measure success by avoiding injury, the survivor pretty much always loses, oftentimes in ways that visually look completely unfair. That's free slowdown for Ghoul and while you now only have to loop an M1 killer with a scamper, you're doing it with 1 less health state than others and cannot gain distance on outdoor maps even with a huge mindgame win thanks to his mobility.
He's the killer equivalent of a fly that always gets away when you try to swat it and keeps buzzing near your ear making it impossible to ignore.14 -
Outdoor maps are just unfair against him, i played as him in the Ormond showcase and whenever i got someone outside, they could barely run away. He is annoying to play against too, especially consider he can just vault over a pallet and hit you two seconds after. The slowdown he provides is miserable for sure, its the equivalent of an easier Legion hit when he wastes your time with the kagune mark. Not to mention if a Ghoul knows what they are doing they can easily bodyblock and deny a pallet or vault as well. all these aside i just want to say it can be a bad match for the Ghoul itself. Imagine trying to use your leaps on Midwhich or Hawkins, its hard to fully utilize any of that in such a tight indoor map. Not to mention the counterplay of getting out of LOS in a loop so he cant vault is strong too. Still a mess of a killer. I agree with you on all aspects though

Ghoul now is kinda pretty loopable especialy after his last change you can easily counter the leap vault and theres nothing he can do about it only thing he has left is great mobility and easy injure but his antiloop I would say os worst now then dreadges meaning his vault because even god loops can be easily vaulted back through him.
Ghoul is one of most m1 simular killers in chase now and one of most manageable from top killers because his chase is without mobility just worse wesker now. Good survivors will give you hard time for sure its not so brain dead as before.

You know you can vault back through ghoul when he is using his leap to vault pallets or even window? Or you can do it after he vaults because he has no hitbox as wesker has now its harder on timing but works too. So his antiloop is without mobility temu wesker like.

I didnt know that, thats actually helpful, but to be fair im too scared to run at him full charge to vault back

I think we need to stop justifying broken killers with: "well I have 0 hours on the character, I think he's fine!"
Like of course if you have no time with the killer he's going to feel like he has a million counters. Part of playing the killer is knowing his strong suits and his weak points. People consider him strong because of his flexibility, mobility, and the situations where he's strong vastly outweighs the situations where he's weak.

I do agree i am in the wrong with the first thing you said, i however want to point out i meant that as survivor i used just be miserable against the killer, but as playing it i am starting to understaand it better, i could have put it in a better way and im sorry for that. playing him is giving me a better idea on how to play against him, I do plan on spending more time on him, i apologize for any confusion and didnt mean to say something wrong. im just expressing myself

They remowed his vault hitbox and kept this bug as feature so now his leap vault only works as way weaker but due to leaps range better catch up tool compare to wesker and only works on survivors that dont see it coming and keep running but its not that hard because people that are aware about it will totaly whipe the floor with you when you try vault against them.

You're good. Definitely playing him will give you a better idea of what he's weak at. Just remember that other players have also learned "tricks" to optimize his gameplay. To fully understand how he plays, you'll also have to do some research on top of your own gameplay because some of these "techs" essentially patch out weaknesses in his kit.

He is probably not that much stronger than comparable A-tier killers, but he's extremely unfun to play against for many players.
Sadly he is also very fun to play and wont be changed fundamentally due to it being a license.

Legion has counterplay too - that’s not the main issue. The main issue is free hits, very quick and easy to injure survivors constantly all match and it turns into a super boring mend simulator even if the players are good and know the proper ways to counter. It’s the super boring and lame design of these killers that is the problem, not their being too strong in winning games.

im gonna be honest, ive only watched this guy named Asuno play Ghoul on YT

I wouldn't say so, I have like 15-20 games on Ghoul for some challenges/achievements and thing is I am Legion main. So I can quite easily see the difference in efficiency and difficulty between those two. Ghoul skill floor is very low and you will get good results even with the most basic use of his power.
Just injure survivor, close the gab and play M1 in loops (or just down them with his low fatigue). Super easy and you are already way above Legion.
Against Legion you can quite easily prevent him from using his power, you can't really do that with Ghoul when distance doesn't exist for him and he can walk in his power for 2 business days.
Even if you suck at using his power in loops, just the ability to easily get nearby survivor makes him so much stronger, easier and less punishing to play as.
But if you learn how to use his power in loops, suddenly even shack and other safe loops are not really an issue for him.4 -
or even window?
In theory yes, in practice not. I have yet to play against Ghoul without Bamboozle, or the addon for it.

No he's bad. His ability to return to hook instantly even when in the middle of chase halfway across the map is awful, his ability to get free hits and mend people is awful, his ability to ignore massive mistakes and instantly catch back up to survivors is awful, and he sounds annoying. He's a terrible killer and is not fun to go against.

Thats addon issue Idk why they dodnt locked bam effect on third leal or make it timed like 20 seconds after injuring with leap or something but basekit ghoul can be managed very easily without it with revault tech.

any killer basekit is managed easily, some borderline useless. Basekit Blight is easy to deal with, but almost all of them run double speed, or iri addons, so it doesn't reflect reality.
Billy, or Bubba are very weak against windows basekit, that's why all of them use Bamboozle to remove that weakness, or they are asking for bad time…
When I will be giving advice how to play against Billy, I am not even going to mention abusing windows, simply because it's unlikely to be an available option. Instead I will advice to try predict Bamboozle plays and just run for free distance.
Giving advice to survivors revault against Kaneki on window is going to kill them instead.

Billy gets huts by windows but overdrive can make him outplay them like shack or tl wall etc. if killer player has skill, but they are still strong against him but not as before anf bubba got only speed buff but his speed is still not enough to counter windows.
Ghoul will have some changes I guess but Idk if devs will look at problematic addons and keep basekit as it is or butcher basekit and keep addons which is variant they tend to do way more often and Im not fan of it.
