PLEASE BUFF DEATHSLINGER
Maybe not as op as he used to be, but make him at least 4.6 speed or buff his add ons. Maybe make his terror radius 24m again but I do think that's too much. He is a killer that takes skill to use but he just can't keep up with the new killers having insanely high mobility by the time he downs 1 survivor 2 gens are already done.

Most ranged killers are 4.4 for a reason. But desthslinger is a bit funny since his ranged hit isn't an guarenteed down if surv is already injured. So he does need a little something imo. He's one of the weaker killers in the game atm and missin a shot or hitting a bad one and not getting the down feels pretty punishing

I play a bunch of singer and completely agree with this reloading plus the hit cooldown gives the survivor so much distance which is why bayshores cigar & keys are his best add-ons because it removes all of the downtime making up for the fact that he is 4.4

He should get some attention, he is becoming outdated and this isnt good on slower movement speed killer.
Idk why he has that 32 meters wide terror radius when he is so slow in many parts of his kit while killers like springtrap exist or jason kinda shame.

Slinger has one of the best anti-loop abilities in the game hands down. Giving him any form of mobility would powercreep him to a point, that his redeemer would get nerfed. And i like my speargun the way it is.

Movement speed buff to him isnt a great idea imo since part of his counterplay isnt just standard looping, its also trying to break LoS so its harder for him to land a shot. Since he's 4.4 this is manageable, but make him 4.6 and now he'll just be able to walk you down without a 2nd thought

Whatever @Shroompy said, plus that Slinger is a killer with high skill expression. It kinda defeats the point of him, if you give him a guaranteed down on the second hit, or making him 4.6

There are other ways like terror radius, addons like reload ones.
Today slinger is heavily punished when he misses a shot but even when he hits a shots its not down always.

Would Slinger being 4.6m/s make him stronger than the current S-Tier or even A-Tier killers? No? Then make him 4.6 m/s.

he should be but only when his gun is empty . Honestly they just need to lower his TR a bit if 24 was too low make it 28 meters . He is super prone to pre running .

We shouldn't have any S tier killers or survivor perks for that matter. S tier stuff are things that are horribly broken and should be removed because they are impossible to balance the rest of the game with.

Make his terror radius 24m, buff useless add-ons like prison chain and hellshire iron.Both those add ons could easily have their effects doubled and still wouldn’t be problematic.

So if Slinger wouldn't become S-tier neither he would rank above most A-tiers what the excuse for keeping him 4.4m/s?

Agree, unfortunately 2 killers were recently nerfed to 4.4 and 3 new killers are 4.4 too so fulltime 4.6 slinger is not happening, basekit reload addons and tr/mending addons rework could be fine too

Truthfully he could use some buffs but the main reason he's 4.4 is because any faster and he'd just be able to zone everything more or less and be awful to play against.

He already got some buffs to his reload speed and movement speed while reloading, it did nothing. Slightly increasing numbers related to his power is not going to make him any better. At the very least he'll be able to move around the map and mindgame on tiles that are impossible to shoot over.
And again? Would that make him stronger than Hillbilly? Singularity? Dracula? No? Then again, what's the problem? Slinger is a low B tier.-1 -
Now that they have a system in place for this for Ghoul, for Slinger I'd like to see them add some kind of small quick time event slightly after the spear connects with a survivor, almost as if you're triggering a mechanism in the harpoon to hold on better, and that passing this qte would then boost his next reload's reload speed by x%.
Though I know qte's can be divisive so others may not agree.

I genuinely think all Slinger needs is Keys and part of his Cigar add-on along with a ever so slightly smaller TR and he'll be perfectly balanced. Currently Slinger is really a potential killer as his entire strength is constantly being able to hit your shots and if you can't he's pretty terrible.
Regarding 4.6 he will be incredibly unfun to play against if he became 4.6 because yeah sure he can get around the map easier, but an already extremely lethal killer in chase becomes literally impossible to avoid. Correct me if im wrong but his base speed also affects his reeling speed so I'm pretty sure that would just make his power unavoidable when hit.
Just because something isn't stronger than killers that are nearing S tier doesn't mean its balanced or fun for both sides. Honestly a game balanced around S tiers and killers at the top of A tier isn't a game I would want to play and I'm glad dead by daylight is slowly moving away from that.
All in all, I think Deathslinger should be punished for missing shots and zoning, but not punished for hitting his shots and deciding to reload allowing tge survivor to get so much distance.

Deathslinger is my TOP2 most played character. I literally left playing him a year ago, because he is just not great in this state of the game or current meta.
Hitting the shots is not the easiest task on him, there is a lot of line of sight blockers on every map.
Missing the shot is very punishing, because on top of after shot hinder, he gets significantly slower while reloading.4.4. makes catching up to survivior very hard, you need to walk towards them for a long time to be in a shot's range.
Most of his addons are worthless to use - the only addons that are somewhat useful are two reloads, cigar and iri coin, nothing else is worth usiing really.

Jason has on demand 115% for like 20+ seconds which can break pallets and his ranged attack is likely better then slingers go figure

I agree that Slinger is weak, but that's because the skill floor with him is so high, with a higher skill ceiling. If you're not closing out chases with him quickly, you are losing, because you get no soft landing in the form of quickly applying pressure elsewhere, or secondary objective slowdown.
That being said, 4.6 isn't the right direction for him. Encouraging less use of his power would undercut his identity a little.
Something that encourages use of his power and rewards good use of it, sort of like Trickster's rank system, would be nice and make him feel a bit more satisfying.
So, using rank as placeholder name for this system and spitballing:- Consecutive hits with his power increases his rank.
- Missing with his power lowers his rank but significantly less than hits increase it.
- Each rank gained increases base reload speed and base reeling speed.
- At maximum rank, progress gets locked and Slinger can choose when to activate it.
- Once activated, Slinger can injure and down without reeling in by landing a shot with an even faster reload speed, for a short duration. This will have a global cue for when ready to activate, when activated, and when complete.
- Slinger then returns to base level. Repeat.
It would make him reward more for accuracy/consistency. Numbers would need significant tweaking to avoid this being a 'wait to snowball' sitaution, but I don't claim the game design chops to know what the numbers should be.

I was gonna say a bounty system and he gets a buff for chasing whos Wanted: currently.

That would make him more unique, especially if Slinger himself chooses who to apply the bounty to (with the obvious condition that you can't reapply it to a recently unhooked survivor).
Or maybe you become the bounty if you've contributed the most gen progress after a specific time, resetting the timer when you get downed. When a bounty appears, get KI briefly to set you on their trail. Win the 1v1, secure the hook, and get a reward.
Now it just depends on what that reward is.0 -
He gets money and maybe the money lets him buy a pallet break or faster vault or something lol. Would be fun. Coffee gives a speed boost or smthn.

Lol its mostly a idea I saw from black cat in MR. When she kills or injures someone shes marked she gets money. The money lets her buy moves. So in slinger case he hits the bounty survivor getting cash. With the cash he can buy a faster vault or pallet break. Even more for downing and hooking the survivor.

Yeah again I think we should aim for things to be around B tier which he is. I don't like that we have broken killers. And before you cry out survivor main. Yeah I am, also I think there's things that survivors should have nerfed.

This would be AWESOME. I main Trickster and switch to Slinger for variety’s sake. I do think 4.4 makes sense on Slinger while it doesn’t on Trickster.
Huntress and Slinger take health states off a successful use of their power. 4.4. Trickster, Unknown, and Artist need multiple hits in quick succession with their projectile to take a health state with each projectile having intuitive counterplay. Unknown and Artist are 4.6. Trickster moved down to 4.4.
But the bounty idea sounds like an absolute banger.3 -
He's extremely outdated. I don't really like the idea of just buffing his movespeed though. I'd rather we buff him in other ways to make him worthy of being 4.4.
-24 meter TR (Monitor got gutted to trash anyway so the old combo is gone)
-Faster reload at base
-Entire addon rework (his addons are so bad and uninteresting)
-Hit box on his shots for survivor detection could be a bit more lenient given how hard his shots are affected by latency
-Maybe a base kit action debuff on spear hits so there's some reward for hits even if you can't connect them and gives him a little slow down to compensate for his speed.
His bad map pressure is "supposed" to be compensated by his strong anti loop and while his anti loop is "good", people generally exaggerate how good it is. We have a plethora of killers with anti loop just as good if not better currently while ALSO having map pressure and way better addons.

I literally just said he would be ranked below A-tier killers, how low in comparison to other killers he needs to be to be balanced? Hell, even if you were to give him the buffs you just talked about (keys + cigar basekit) AND make him 4.6m/s, he STILL wouldn't be above any of the A-tiers killer.
I doubt he would be impossible to avoid either, he would just be made harder to mindgame on loops because he doesn't take 10 hours to reach a survivor for a hit on loops he can't shoot over.0
