Has anyone wondered what the devs gameplay is like?
like not even about inspecting the balance i just wonder how they feel playing the game and who they main or what not, do you think they play with a proud smile on their face knowing they worked on this game?

Im not a dev but i would certainly be really happy to play a game and like, play a character that i worked on for months

There actually were (and probably still are) a few devs that irregularly stream themselves playing the Game in their free time.
Iirc Almo and McLean used to but both have left BHVR for quite some time now.
And don’t forget, there are a lot of different devs that work on DbD. And most actually can do their Job just fine without being a pro or even playing the game at all. And there will be all Kind of different skill levels among them

Old devs McLean and Almo used to stream playing DBD fairly often. Peanits used to stream when he was a community manager. McLean and Peanits always seemed pretty happy to be involved with DBD.

would love to see some kinda poll that shows what survivors and killers are their favorites.
Got a feeling ghostface could be up there

I refuse to believe this was 8 years ago…

Devs have litearlly said they play both sides in their free time. but this is no place to argue

oh no I wasn’t trying to argue or start something, I’m just genuinely curious.
Anything that brings the community closer to the devs is very welcome. Sometime it can feel like there’s this wall up and that dehumanizes devs sometimes

McLean and Almo developed killers and streamed as them, but with different mentalities. It showed in their streams too. Both talked openly about their approaches and it was often stated that Almo wanted survivors to fear killers and had a more "anything it takes" mindset, which reflected in his gameplay— he tunneled and camped a lot. McLean was the total opposite. He often threw games just so survivors could enjoy themselves more. It was obvious that McLean really loved what he did because of the amount of time he talked about the dev process and all their hurdles in making things work, what he was happy about and what he wasn't, etc. Like, he was very happy about creating the Blight because he thought Blight's mechanic was fun. What he wasn't happy about was how he knew the Blight was broken but he wasn't able to fix him, as much as he tried, before leaving BHVR.

And yet they're 10 years in and not showing any signs of stopping. You also joined the forum in 2022, so if you're still here after 4 years then they must be doing something right hey

they do but at a very low level where you honestly don't see any issues so that explains alot . When you face solo queue or a not coordinated swf the game isn't awfull. So they never actually see the high end of mmr with clock callouts and STB spam . This makes them dissconected from the experience which is ultimatelly niche since most players do experience it .

I might be failing English here, but did you say that most players experience Clock Callouts and STB spam? Because if you said that, this is really not true.
