We know players encountered different issues when playing the Black Banquet Event, and we wouldn't want you to leave the feast still hungry. We'll be providing 5M Bloodpoints to all players, redeemable in your in-game inbox. Thank you for your patience as we worked on these issues, and we hope to see you in The Fog!
Can BHVR stop being mute and talk about the cakes?
Everyone is complaining about the reduced rates and yet BHVR has not made a single comment

Balrog, of our mods has told us the team is investigating these issues.

Just wanted to be clear that we are investigating bloodweb and Event Currency issues reported. Bloodweb errors may be resolved already.

Thank You for the confirmation and validation Balrog

THIS!

Whatever BHVR says to make themselves feel better is all that matters. If the bug is fixed, we'll all be happy.

The cakes aren't a bloodweb bug to be investigated though. BHVR changed their classification from "event" (which was same as "common") to "very rare." This not only lessens the chance of them showing up but also makes them cost more BP. People saw leaks of this change to see it was a planned change rather than a bug that popped up. It kind of feels like people complained about event nodes on the bloodweb not showing up much last year so this year instead of making it feel better BHVR doubled down by making them very rare and also increased the cost. Just feels bad during what should be a milestone celebration.
18 -
The cake rarity change is just an intentional (and frankly malicious at this point) change to make our experience and rewards worse for no real reason.
17 -
alot of investigating i see
3 -
I literally quit the game for 11 months due to them making the cakes rarer mid anniversary last year. Like if you're going to disrespect my time investment in the event that much then I'd sooner just play another game.
11 -
I am not aware of any issues of cakes in the bloodweb, only Bloodweb Errors from earlier.
-29 -
The rarity is wrong.
They should be common (brown) and cost 2000 BP in the bloodweb. Like every cake from every other year.
24 -
Not even close to appropriate for the 10th Year Celebration of DBD. It needs to be a common addon like all the others ASAP. This cannot go past today. This is WRONG.
15 -
Well, I suppose this is BHVR's response. The lack of cakes is not a bug. It is intended design, and functioning correctly. No, they do not plan on changing it.
8 -
There are ~14 cakes in one prestige. That's like not even half of what you could get in last year's Anniversary.
This is supposed to be THE Anniversary, the Big One, 10 years.
That certainly doesn't feel like it if you get too little.15 -
Reading between the lines, this probably means its intended everyone.
7 -
Honestly why are we even bothering to complain. We know nothing will change. They went on record previously saying they don't want people stacking up offerings because reasons.
Very poor show and the fact that the response is "I'm not aware" when the entire community is screaming at them both here and reddit and they are silencing it on reddit means they are aware and just don't care.
1 -
I have to admit I have nothing against the frequence I am getting cakes in the bloodwebs. Most likely going to be downvoted a lot but I just wanted to state my opinion of it.
-3 -
I don't have information on this yet; I appreciate your patience!
-6 -
damn poor Balrog
-2 -
Not poor me! This is what I'm here for. I will take any and all constructive feedback!
5 -
This is an absolutely crazy response considering all of the feedback you are getting. I took a break from this game for a year because the cake drop rates on last year's game were so demoralizing. I had high hopes this would be fixed for the 10th anniversary. So sad to see that you BHVR somehow decided to make it even worse for no apparent reason. Do you not understand that the only reason most people get excited for the event is because they get to stock up on cakes? It's like you resent your playerbase and actively want them to have a worse time.
9 -
i honestly respect it
Balrog: i will take any and all feedback from you guys
gets 100 messages of feedbacks and problems per hour
-1 -
A dev merged like 10 posts about cake problem, there is no way you guys aren't aware.
Please increase them like it was before.
9 -
Understandable intepretation given the content of my comment and the lack of clarity between bug and feedback there. We are ABSOLUTELY aware of the feedback and are passing that along to the team.
5 -
Please for the love of God just tell them this will make damn near every single player of DBD (a genuine rarity for this community) happy and content with this years celebration. It is 2 minutes of work for millions of players to be stoked.
17 -
Well, it didn't help that almost every post about cakes got ignored while many others got an answer.
4 -
Understandable frustration, something we can note as well.
6 -
Keep doing the good job.
2 -
appreciate the hard work

I said in another thread I have no problem with the current drop rate if I got three cakes with about 150-200k after a match. So if you get that I don't see what you guys are expecting to get over five or something? Still I was using manual spending so I was targeting the cakes not trusting automation that is known to pick cheapest first.
-16 -
I have 18m BP saved right now, and I'm not spending it until we can get an official confirmation whether or not the cake rates will be changed. I echo what many others have said, this is the 10th anniversary, why is this the most stingiest of them all?? It should be the exact opposite.
12 -
You literally got more than double last year. Of course people are pissed with this Anniversary being supposed to be the biggest and having cakes more than halved.
8 -
I think at this point once you figure it out a sticky or some kind of announcement would be worth doing to know if its intended, or if it is going to be changed, or whats going on.
3 -
I manually prestiged survivor one full level, and killer one full level. Killer got 3 cakes, survivor got 2. That’s across the entire bloodweb, grabbing them every time I saw them. It’s pretty awful. They compete with very rare addons and items now, meaning yes there’s less for them to technically compete with in order to appear in the web, but unlike common items they appear like 20x less often. I see one or two purples for every 15 levels, takes 50 to prestige, you do the math. The odds are whack.
6 -
Well don't know I played four killer and three of them got three after that one match and one got one. Its possible to be unlucky but thats still 3/4 that got three.
-6 -
Here's a better answer: I appreciate you waiting for all the moving parts to do their thing: We are investigating reports of issues related to the spawn rate of the Toothy Torte in the Bloodweb. We'll provide an update as soon as we know more.
11 -
Prior to last year, you could easily expect to get 75-100+ cakes per prestige. That has been cut down to twenty without any real compensation. Do you really not understand how this could be demoralizing and frustrating for people who have invested a lot of time in the game? Especially considering that BHVR is unable to clearly explain why they want people to have fewer cakes. It's always just something vague about the "bloodweb economy". But is that worth sacrificing all of the good will you got from generously rewarding your playerbase once a year?

I've always loved the anniversary events, and purely for the items and offerings. I genuinely don't pay as much attention to the event gameplay because I'm genuinely grinding the game for items and offerings. If they genuinely want to massively decimate the amount you can get, for the supposed biggest event celebration for the past 10 years of DbD, then I genuinely wont be playing much of this event. I'd be really disappointed as every other anniversary event has had me playing the game as much as possible.
Hoping for a fix to this issue really soon, and not a confirmation that the change is intended.

This; I was going to jump on after work but now am not going to play a single match until we get some clarity and/or the rarity gets fixed. Accruing cakes is a huge part of the anniversary appeal.
6 -
The issue is they changed the Rarity. Quick patch to make the rarity back to common and its all fixed. Not your fault i know but it really is a simple fix and keeps the entire playbase happy. Honestly if they don't do anything about it given its the 10th aniversary this game won't make the 11th aniversary because faith will have all been lost
7 -
Yeah it feels like they misunderstood why people love the anniversary event. The cakes /are/ the event for a lot of players, taking the numbers down this much directly affects the enjoy-ability.
This game can be very frustrating when you are on the wrong side of something unbalanced, and being able to bring a cake and say "hey well at least I got some good bp" makes things feel less serious. Taking that away from players because they don't want people "hoarding cakes" speaks to the decision makers not understanding the community at all. Having access to our earned cakes all year makes us play more, not less.7 -
This is my first anniversary and I already spent 5 million BP just to get about 60 cakes. I thought maybe I needed to grind when others had said they had 500 on each character in previous years
0 -
To be clear I don't think there are any issues with spawn rates as in I don't think they're broken or anything it's that the rarity is very rare instead of the usual common so
1. Was this intended?
2. If yes then why?
3. Can they be changed back to common?
6 -
I appreciate you being here and helping us feel like our feedback is being heard. That being said the general issue everyone is having is not a bug, not an error, its not reports on spawn rates. It is the fact that the rarity change to the cakes has made them much harder to obtain across the board. especially on p100 characters who have to spend an entire lvl 50 bloodweb to aquire 1 cake making them very expensive, slow to collect, and not worth trying for. This event is one of the most played in the game because its about farming cakes for allllllll your characters and to aquire enough to last the rest of the year or more. The rarity of these cakes being changed completely nerfs everyones ability to collect cakes across all characters, p100s or not.
So primarily what everyone is asking for is to send feedback that we would like the rarity of cakes to be reduced back to common like previous years.
