We know players encountered different issues when playing the Black Banquet Event, and we wouldn't want you to leave the feast still hungry. We'll be providing 5M Bloodpoints to all players, redeemable in your in-game inbox. Thank you for your patience as we worked on these issues, and we hope to see you in The Fog!
Bad play BHVR (Massive cake rant)

It's 95% of the reason anyone plays during the anniversary. Almost nobody is here for the terrible events themselves. All of those people coming back and thinking they were going to get a bunch of cakes only to immediately get slapped in the face upon booting up the game. I feel like whatever metric they're using to justify this didn't account for the huge amount of negativity on social media that we are seeing.

Same boat as you, it'll be annoying to wait until Tuesday (or God forbid longer) but I'm willing to do it if the Cakes we so desperately need and deserve for keeping this Spaghetti Monster of a game afloat for 10 years return to normal rarity and abundant spawn rate.

CAKES HAVE BEEN FIXED??? Anyone check to confirm this, PLEASE????

I just saw Otz spend 1.6 mil on Jason and he got around 50 cakes, so it is better, but only marginally so.
0 -
It's about half of what you got last year and that number was already massively reduced. They didn't do much of anything. It's still terrible.

Ugh, bummer. I still think the Rarity should be adjusted but this is at least serviceable, I'll take what I can get, but PLEASE BHVR, consider doing more.

A step in the right direction, but it is still not enough as compared to other years.
The rarity needs to be changed to Common. Or rather re-introducing the special "Event" rarity we used to have before the whole rarity nonsense we got last year.

It's something, would love the rarity to be adjusted for an actual surplus to be achieved but… It's something.

It is indeed a step in the right direction, but we still need the rates to be on par (or better, because 10th anniversary) than previous years.

Spent everything I had yesterday and got so few cakes. It's 10 years and this happens?? Pathetic!
4 -
That'd be me, and from what I see in the limited data I have, it does seem accurate.

I appreciate that they have immediately taken some steps (which are likely the only ones technically possible without a patch). However I want to add that like many, I was looking forward to finally having cakes as I did not play the anniversary last year.
Also the items missing confetti or fireworks is a bummer. When others have a special flashlight or medkit, it shows they are a long-time player and means something in the game, even if small. I am not sure the devs realise(d) this.

More data sourced on cakes. Using the auto-spend feature netted 20 cakes for survivor, and 26 for killer.
On average, 1 prestige level (50 levels) cost 1.1 million BP.Still, just a drop in the ocean when compared to previous years, when getting over 100 cakes per prestige was the norm.
5 -
Nothing was fixed, the rarity is still very rare. When will it be changed back to common??
7 -
Aggravating, it should be a common offering or they should do a little more than "slightly" bump the rates up. I don't understand the need or desire to artificially limit the spawn rate when its purely BP gains.

never, because dead by daylight has always been about suffering, on either side. Now you get to suffer irl too, by having your time wasted by devs that don’t want to let you enjoy what is supposed to be the best time of the year for this game. No balance changes, minimal new content, buggy and gimmicky event mode that feels imbalanced and unpolished. And to top it all off, you get half the blood points of every other yearly event! Including all 9 other years’ anniversaries!! What’s not to love?
BHVR needs to ingrain in their staff the simple saying, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” When it comes to things like blood points and leveling, all of the worst things they could possibly do involve meddling with it. Leaving it how it’s been all these years is better than messing it up. Small changes, like we’ve gotten with balancing, are more likely to be good changes. Big changes, like to how much currency you get for your time, is a big no-no

I was following this guide for cakes. The only difference from their "fix" is I am getting way more items than before (was 5 of each, now 20 of each). Before the fix I would get 19-21 cakes every 50 levels and now I get 20 cakes for 50 levels. There wasn't an increase in cakes, just that you can autospend 50 levels to get 20 cakes instead of needing to manually select the cakes on one of the 14 guaranteed levels and hope for random cake in mystery box on the in-between levels.
3 -
They already fixed it and gave 5mil bloodpoints to everyone.

Soo… apparently the devs has confirmed on Reddit that the cake nerfs are intentional.
WHAT THE ACTUAL F… IS THIS A CRUEL JOKE BHVR?
Someone needs to be fired over this.

This is from last year, we have plenty of reasons to be angry but this is not applicable to the BS Torte situation.
0 -
Wait, what? Still, it is not a good outlook to have.
1 -
I agree, it's a very lame comment but it is from last year, not this year.
1 -
Yeah I think the problem was them ever thinking it was good to nerf it in the first place regardless because again its the anniversary. The cakes are a even bigger appeal than the event itself. Nerfing their drop rate we see whats happening now is killing the event more than the events balancing imo (which is horrendous as well ofc)
6 -
Indeed, the cakes are the big appeal

I literally got into a situation yesterday where I couldn't play whatever killer I wanted AND bring a cake because I couldn't earn a single cake fast enough on any given killer from one previous match's worth of gains. I had to limit myself to killers that had pies or cakes left over from previous events before the pie economy became incredibly stingy. Happy 7th anniversary I guess.
This all feels incredibly lame. Here's a bunch of announcements for things that are just opportunities for you to give us more money and half the cakes we usually give out. Woooo, anyone else hype.
5 -
I don't like that cake drops have become a system instead of random occurrences. Maximising cakes has become a chore.
5 -
It can't be from last year because it has the "52m" next to their username. If it was from last year, it would say something like "last year" or whatever date, 2025.

I remember the screenshot going around last year. I'm gonna guess someone did a google or reddit search on past anniversary cake rates and found the screenshot, not the actual comment
2 -
In an ideal world, this should never be the case.
I genuinely have no clue what the actual reasoning is behind this highly unnecessary change, that was made to anger the playerbase.1 -
Not a new screenshot lmao, you can check their reddit history, my friend
